Los Angeles Dodgers vs Pittsburgh Pirates – FULL GAME HIGHLIGHTS | September 4, 2025 MLB Season

Two balls, two strikes. The seventh pitch from Skins. Swing and a miss. Strike three. A high fast ball at 99. Bats hits it on the ground to third. Fair ball stopped on a backhand by Deainy. What a play in third by the rookie on the 3-2. Freeman pops it up on the right side of the infield. Gonzalez at second and that’s a one two three top of the first for Paul Ski. So now the Dodgers will send out one of their Sai Young Blake Snell after this. The O2 Gonzalez watches strike three. Perfect fast ball at the knees at 95. Snell’s payoff is in the dirt. The only contact the Pirates have had is on the bunt. Sana to right field pushing Hernandez back in front of the warning track. He makes the catch for the second out. Tagging from second and going to third is Triolo. Only the computer can tell us what they think. 100 on the inner half. Freezes Conorto. Second strikeout for skis. Fifth series sweep in just the last two months. And Ariel flips it to shallow right center. A bloop base hit. The first hit of the game for either side and a walk. Second walk of the game for Blake Snell. Lineup turns over. Jared Triolo bouncer up the middle. bets to his left, throws across his body, but Triolo beats the throw and that loads the bases toward Freddy Freeman. Foul ground. Freddy makes the play. Rushing high in the air, right center field, drifting back, Reynolds. He’s at the wall. This ball is off the top of the wall. Rushing is going to hold up at second with a two out double. That was in the air a long time and it just missed. Four turns on the road here as RA at nine in the dirt. Rushing. Can’t recover. And Reynolds takes second base in the dirt underneath. Rushing. bounced right back to him. But another base given to Brian Reynolds. The Dodgers doing stuff like that. Giving opponents extra outs, extra bases. Ground ball base hit. A two strike RBI single for Fam. And the Pirates take the first lead. A catchin left side. Diving stop. Rojos up and thrown to second. Here’s the turn. That’s two. What a play by Rojos at third to start the 543 Twin Killing. Creeping up on a franchise record number of shutouts. Also, High Heat beats Hernandez. Two gone in the fourth. Down the stretch when you’re trying to fight for the postseason fight for a postseason, but you would rather have that than not. Backto back Kes for Snell opening the fourth. And they got Deainy between first and second. Freeman to Kim. The tag applied. Inning over. Ground ball. Base hit. Yel Rojas. The two strike knock right up the middle. I would tell him to throw more sinkers. On another 2-2. Ste gets rushing. A 99 mph fast ball. works around the two out single to Rojos and keeps Pittsburgh ahead. To think about the whole marathon of a game over a three-hour period. Bouncing ball up the middle, a leadoff base hit for Triolo. Second hit of the game, his third time aboard. Next pitch, line drive, base hit into center field for Nick Gonzalez. Back-to- back singles for Pittsburgh in the fifth. Brian Reynolds goes after the first pitch, grounds it through the six hole into left field. Triolo has the green light. The throws going to third. Not in time. Reynolds takes second base and Pittsburgh doubles its lead. York is 0 for two in the game. Two nothing Pirates. First pitch, base hit down the left field line. A fair ball. One run is in, two will score. McCutchen gets to third. A two-run double for Nick York following the intentional walk. So for now, McCutchen remains on third. Canario bounces it to Freddy Freeman. They’re just going to take the out of first base. McCutchen scores. Five to nothing. The Pirates on top. Full count on Davis. Two outs in the fifth. 90th pitch from Snell. Chopped to third. Rojos to Freeman, but a big crooked number for Pittsburgh. And the Dodgers deficit is five. The O2 down swinging. Popped up. Third base side. Deainy. Two outs for the Dodgers in the sixth. As far as your batting, average running in scoring position. Broken back. Ground ball stopped by Bets on a backhand. Up quickly, the throw. What a play. And for goes the other way for a base hit. Just the third Dodger hit of the night and perhaps his career around in some ways. Two-2 pitch line to short. That’s out number two in the seventh. It’s Reynolds swinging. One out in the seventh. They’re just not getting the results. Back-to-back Kes for Yates in the seventh. Two down. And the results are going to come from more consistent. Kirby eight strikes out the side in the seventh and the Dodger bats wake up in the eighth. Johan Ramirez pops him up. popped up. Going back from second, Gonzalez. Dodgers don’t put up for white in the eighth. Five nothing Pittsburgh. Fly ball from Horwitz. Shallow right field. Kim makes the call in the catch. We can personally lament the fact that we did not get to see line drive. Oh, nice pick. A short hop to Kim at second base. What a play. Two gone. Strike three. So now the ninth inning. Dodgers trying to rally down five. Bats belts a ball left field. Hit deep. The Dodgers have a run. Very nice reading of that stat from 1933. So they avoid back-to- back shutouts at the hands of the Pirates. High heat at 95 and Freeman down swinging. Line drive, base hit left center field for Tayscar Hernandez. Bouncing ball left side, base hit to Oscar Hernandez going to run for third and get there. Dodgers on the corners. First pitch, ground ball stopped at short by Triolo. He shovels to second. Not in time. Hernandez scores. The Dodgers are within three. Miguel Rojos ground ball base hit into left field. Conforto getting the windmill home. It’s five to three and the tying runs are on base. Alderman’s O2. Swam strike three. That’s the ball game and the series.

  1. Stick a fork in the Dodgers because they are done. No division title and no World Series title either. They will be lucky if they get past the wildcard stage. Regarding Othani, as a hitter he is joke lately. He is swinging at pitches out of the strike zone, he isn't picking up the ball quick like before and his strike outs are increasing at an alarming pace.

  3. When a team that's out of the postseason race plays against a top-tier team, the young players on the underdog squad often get fired up. For example, if the top team has a veteran player with a mediocre track record who's being paid $17 million a year—a guy whose only real asset seems to be his health—the younger players on the struggling team might think, "I'm definitely better than that guy!" This can motivate them to really put on a show and prove their worth, seeing it as a golden opportunity to showcase their skills.

  4. Nah dodgers cannot be a back to back W in the world series if yhey can even pass the 1st round series😔..dodgers now just meant for business not a W in every single game😔..see you next season with strong bullpen and defensive players

  5. This absolutely is rock bottom. Swept by the Pirates! I thought 0-6 against the Angels was bad.
The Dodgers have zero fire, no real team leader to call out players and why did Roberts PH a rookie catcher with 2 outs and the tying runs on? WTF was he thinking!

  6. The Bucs are no joke at home. On the road, it is a 💩show, but we have got some good young pitching. Until we trade it to the Dodgers and Yankees. Thus the life of a Pirates fan.

  7. Freeman’s eyes are shot. The Dodgers need to trade him while he still has some value. Other than some funny accounting, I don’t see how in the world he’s hitting .300. Someone as lazy as he is – he’s just disappointing.

  8. You've just got to appreciate Mookie running the bases dancing and waving in the 9th to avoid the shutout. As a Dodgers fan that's exactly what we want to see ….

  9. The Dodgers need a new head coach, Roberts is old and tired, he's finished. They have some great talent, but there's no enthusiasm for them to perform; that's the coach's job to a great extent.

  10. Jeezus… If the Pirates didn't have ZERO regulars in their lineup with an OPS above .730, they might be in the playoffs this year, and their pitching would scare anyone in a short series.
