UPDATE: New Orleans Saints Chase Young’s Availability Uncertain, Long-Term Outlook Positive

Welcome to the card and I’ll tell you everything you need to know. Oh, we’re here. That’s okay. I’ll still tell you everything that you need to know about the New Orleans Saints following Thursday’s practice. So, the big story here is of course Chase Young. Chase Young, who was limited on Wednesday due to a calf injury, downgraded to did not participate on Thursday. That’s typically not a good sign, a midweek downgrade. Now, he wasn’t the only one. There were actually two Cardinals that also had midweek downgrades as well. This happens, but that’s usually not a pretty good indication when it comes to game availability. But I will say this, Chase Young was emphatic that this is not a long-term issue. So, if he were to miss Sunday’s game up against Arizona, it doesn’t sound like this is going to be a long-standing concern whatsoever. So, no need for this to become larger than it is. He might miss Sunday’s game against Arizona. We’ll see. He has another practice on Friday, then an injury report will come out with game designations. If he’s questionable, that’ll give him at least a chance to see how things feel on Saturday’s walkthrough or maybe even pregame on Sunday. I will say that I would expect in any case for Fidil Diggs to potentially be up this weekend as a Saturday standard elevation. We don’t know that for sure, but it would make sense, right? He was a draft pick, the only draft pick that didn’t make the that they didn’t keep on the active roster. And he’s kind of the top one of the three now pass rushers that the Saints have. They did add another former outside linebacker from Nebraska, Garrett Nelson, to the mix on their practice squad. They moved Hunter Decker is now his sixth transaction of the offseason so far in order to make room for that. But outside of that, we’re waiting to see exactly what’s going to happen here with Chase Sean. But the expectation as of right now is that it wouldn’t be surprising if he misses Sunday’s game. But he’s got Friday’s practice to try to get past that. So, we’ll see. And of course, we’ll be back here tomorrow. I’ll tell you everything you need to know after Friday’s practice, including a little bit of that status on Chase Show.

  1. We have good back ups. This biggest change from last season to this one, is the fact of increased, quality depth on the defensive line. As long as it's not serious, e.g. achilles.
