CHARLES BARKLEY LEAVES EARTH ON KEVIN DURANT AND LEBRON JAMES – EDTV #nba #basketball
Yo, welcome to another episode of Eddie TV. Man, if you press play on this video, hopefully you subscribe, comment, like, share the damn video, and hit the notification bell for whenever I upload. It’ll be nice. See if there’s anybody else out there that thinks like us. Us as in me and you. So, Charles Barkley went on the Bill Simmons show and he completely lost it. He snapped when they brought up when Bo brought up the uh second apron situation. This is what he had to say. I think you kind of have to do in the NBA now with all these new dumb rules they have. No, they have a thing. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, cut the They ain’t got no dumb rules. Let me tell you something. I’m so glad that you asked that question. Is this a second apron defense? No. No. Yes. Why did they have to come up with rules, Bill? Because all these guys want to play together and not compete. How many great players do you need on one team? See, this is what bothers me in my generation. They made up these rules like these young people. Well, if I had a dollar for every time I heard the second apron, why did Adam Silva had to put the se second apron in? Because LeBron got all his guys together. KD wanted to go play with the Warriors. What? Wait, y’all don’t like don’t want to win the championship and just compete against each other. Don’t get mad at Adam Silver because y’all all want to play together and dominate the league cuz y’all don’t want to compete. I hate when I hear, man, the second apron’s not fair. What do you mean it’s not fair? If y’all stop all want to play together, we wouldn’t have to make up bogus ass rules. I don’t see nothing wrong with what Charles Barkley had to say because it’s the truth. He had to break down and put a CBA type of restriction on all of these teams that can sign anybody at any time. Whether that be sign to to taking another player and paying him off the books or paying him more money once it becomes available. Yes, the second apron was put in place to stop this from happening because they seen how long uh and or how how bad this was on the Eastern Conference and the Western Conference. Oh, okay. So, y’all don’t want to y’all don’t want to compete. Y’all don’t want to be opposing. Y’all don’t y’all don’t want any rivalries within the NBA. All right. We’re going to do you one better. we’re gonna go ahead and put this in motion to where this can’t happen and all of the players signed off on it and said it was okay. So clearly they don’t think it’s a problem. Why is it a problem to outside consumers or people that didn’t find nothing wrong with it? You had all of these players joining up and to the point where David Stern blocked the Chris Paul trade for him to go and play with Kobe Bryant. But when it came down to it, you okay? LeBron, D. Wayade, and Chris Boss joining. You okay? Steph Curry, Draymond, Klay Thompson, and Kevin Durant joining up to to form this super team, quote unquote. But it’s a problem now because Draymond even has something to say about it. Oh, I think it’s so stupid, bro. That’s because you know that you’re not enough. You’re not good enough to try to lead the Warriors. I helped Seth lead to war lead the Warriors to a championship. The NBA is restoring balance to the NBA. They’re restoring balance to where you might have a team that might have one superstar, one star, and a bunch of role players. You might have the NBA to where you had two stars and a bunch of role players. It’s being restored. You could see it. You can see it even when Giannis won his. You can see it when Dallas Mavericks won theirs. You can see it when the Warriors were winning theirs when they didn’t have KD. They didn’t go these players didn’t start to stack teams until he did what he did. But then when a when a person pulls a U on you, it’s a problem. These things have to be paid attention to and to the point where they they they they stopped doing it. Luca Donic took a team to the playoffs when it was just him and a bunch of role players. You got superstar and a bunch of role players. You have you have teams that were formed when you had the Spurs when it was Tim Duncan, Mano Ginobi, and Tony Parker. Ne none of those players were superstars. But you had when they tried to do it again with the Suns, you had Bradley Bill, Kevin Durant, and Devin Booker. They lost. Then you had stars or you had teams in the in the playoffs last year where they had one superstar with the with the Thunder. You had a star and then you had a bunch of role players. Then you had with the Pacers, you had a potential superstar, a star in Pascal and a bunch of role players. Miles Turner is not a star. He’s not a star. He’s a role player. Why I call him a role player? Because he’s not consistent. Nobody Nobody opens up a Pacers game and looking for Miles Turner to go off. The expectations are low. They’re restoring balance cuz this is how it used to be back in the days. You had Gary Payeyton. You had a star in Shawn Kim. They made it to the finals. You had Charles Barkley on the Suns who was a superstar at the time, but you had a star in Kevin Johnson, KJ. Then you had a bunch of role players. You had multiple teams. You had the the the the the Blazers. The superstar was Clyde Drexler. Then you had his star. He had he had a star and then a bunch of role players. If don’t if you don’t even want to call another star on that Trailblazers team a superstar. They had a star player and you had a bunch of you had a bunch of role players. The NBA is going back to what they used to have. They had to break down the Celtics because you got two players making over $700 million with Jaylen Brown and Jason Tatum. They had to get rid of Chris Staps. They had to get rid of Drew Holiday to break that team down because this is not going to continue to fly. We got to break this down. You had all of these teams that were successful with one star, one superstar, and a bunch of role players. You had the you had Detroit, you had one superstar potentially in K Cunningham. Then you had him maybe a star in um what was the other player? A man Thompson. A man Thompson and a bunch of role players. You had the Rockets. Jaylen Green was supposedly supposed to be the star or the superstar, but you had him, Alfred Shangon, Amen Thompson, sorry, Assar Thompson, who is the one that plays for Detroit. But then now you got them was they were the number two seed. Sorry. You had a bunch of people on the Minnesota Timberwolves. You had the superstar with with with Anthony Davis. You had a potential star with Julius Randle and you had a bunch of su uh role players behind that. You had all of these good teams. You got the Lakers with Luca Don a superstar. the face of the NBA in LeBron, which they will not win until LeBron retires. Until he leaves, the team will not be success successful. Sorry. Then you had the Knicks. You had the star in Jaylen Brunson. You had a star in Carl Anthony Towns and a bunch of role players. The NBA is restoring order back to what you can do within the NBA. And there’s nothing wrong with that. This is exactly what they need. One or two stars and a bunch of role players. A superstar, a star, and a bunch of role players. It got mixed up when everybody decided to join each other. From your James Hardens, your Kyrie Irvings, your LeBron James’s, your Kevin Durant, your your Steph Curry, all of these players were joining forces. Oh, I lost this year. So, let me see if we can get us another superstar. That that that sways. All right. Well, they’re favorites. They favored the Suns to win a championship because they had KD Booker and Bradley Bill. They favored the Lakers to win because they had two superstars with LeBron and Luca. I wouldn’t be surprised in some of these upcoming years if the Orlando Magic don’t win a championship with even with the Cleveland Cavaliers. You had a star or a potential superstar in Donovan Mitchell, a star in in Darius Garland, if you want to call him that, and a bunch of role players. They’re trying to hype up Evelyn Evan Mobley to be a star in the NBA, but he’s not consistent enough. So when you sit up here and say the CBA is stupid, you’re stupid. You’re used to seeing one ball, one one style of ball played, and that’s with three stu two superstars and one star on a team. Adam Silver said no. Joe Dumar said no. We’re going to get back to what we know and what the NBA used to be where the talent and the superstars are all spread around the league. they’re surrounded by a star or role players and we’re going to go at it like that. If you don’t think that’s the fair way, that means you think like a weak-minded individual because everybody’s supposed to compete. You’re supposed to take your team as a superstar and compete against another superstar in his team. You’re supposed to take your team and compete against a star, a superstar, maybe a star against another person that has a superstar and a star on their team and a bunch of role players. It shouldn’t be till where there’s two superstars and one star and a bunch of role players on the team. Though, I don’t find nothing wrong with this. This is how the NBA is supposed to be played when you have one superstar, a star, and a bunch of role players. This is the the old NBA. This is the the the the Celtics. The the the Lakers stacked the deck when they added Kareem with James Worthy and Magic Johnson. They stacked the deck. Milwaukee Milwaukee Bucks where you had a superstar or a star in Ray Allen or a potential star in Glenn Robinson and it was supposed to go like that. or you had a superstar in Michael Jordan or a star in in Scotty Pippen and a bunch of role players. That’s how the NBA was won. You had a superstar in Giannis star or a potential star role player in um Chris Middleton and a bunch of role players like Drew Holidays. You had a superstar in in in your your your um Durk No Whiskey and a bunch of role players. That’s how titles are supposed to be won. It isn’t supposed to be where there’s all this stacked talent on one le on on one organization and everybody else they’re facing all role player teams. This is not how it’s supposed to go. But it’s made cool by by by modern media. It’s made cool by by by modern consumers that watch basketball and think this is the way it’s supposed to be. It’s not supposed to be that way. It wasn’t that way back in the days like that. It wasn’t the way to where well we we’ll sign these two superstars and we’ll deal with the consequences later. No, they’re not going to do that. So, Adam Silver kind of sort of doing a good job, but he also allowed it as well. Even when David Stern passed away in the early 2010s, he was thinking like, “All right, well, I’m gonna make this a more of a offensive based league.” No, that’s not how it’s supposed to go. You’re supposed to play both sides of the ball. Your superstar comes out on top with his best with his team, with his best efforts, and they win a championship. A super team hasn’t won the the the the the um the the NBA championship in a minute. They’re dying out. James Harden joining super teams. Kyrie Irving joined a couple super teams. KD joined a couple super teams. LeBron James joined a couple super teams. It’s it’s not a thing anymore. Things are going back to the way that they used to be. And there’s absolutely nothing wrong. There’s not a year where you think that this team is going to continue to repeat because they’re going to break this down. Why do you think there’s so many different teams that are winning championships these days? Because these teams that aren’t forming these super teams are winning because they know team ball. The super teams don’t know team ball. There’s not nothing that they know that’s going to be different. All right. Well, we got this super team, but we got this team over here that got one superstar, a star, maybe a bunch of role players or a superstar with a bunch of role players that can win. That’s team basketball. Team basketball wins games, not superstar basketball. LeBron got lucky. That’s why Jokic won. He was the superstar. You got maybe possibly a star in Jamal Murray and a bunch of role players. That’s how he won. Celtics. The superstar on the team is Jason Tatum. The star on the team is Jaylen Brown. And a bunch of role players with Chris Staps who barely played. That’s how they how they were able to pull that out. They wanted to say on all of these injuries, but a championship is a championship just like the 2020 bubble. What do you call that? A super team. You had you had a superstar in LeBron. You had a star in AD. Then you had a um a Hall of Famer in Dwight Howard. Then you got another player that’s good as a player in Rajan Rondo. So yes, there’s nothing wrong with what Chuck said because they don’t want to compete. They just want to win. They don’t want to be uh uh well, this is going to be easy for me because I got two superstars. I got two two people on the team that can average 20 points while I average 25 30 points. No, salute to Chuckman. Salute to Sir Charles. Sir Charles Barkley for speaking the truth. Bill Bill Simmons don’t have to agree with it. You see how that team in with the Brooklyn Nets, they didn’t last. That didn’t go on. The Suns didn’t go on. When they had Russell Westbrook and James Harden on the Rockets, that didn’t go on. It didn’t last. Super teams are have died out. Accept it. But I digress. But with that being said, if you haven’t already, comment, like, sub, subscribe, share the damn video, and hit the notification bell for whenever I upload. It’ll be nice. See if there’s anybody else out there that thinks like us. Us, as in me, and you. And with that being said, good day.
Charles Barkley had something to say when it comes to the second apron when Bill Simmons tries to disagree.

Here's my problem with it what do you do with a team like boston who drafted two players that BECAME GREAT boston brought in role players and this gonna be the problem in the future a team with a superstar and will draft a player that shows you superstar potential and they are gonna have to pay him to keep them
Cmon bro Luka didn't do it by himself he had Kyrie
And people dont understand why the CP3 deal didn't go through but it had to do with four owners who were funding a team with no owners and they were dumping assests and it was no why they were gonna allow the Lakers to get CP3 since they were the ones who paid for the team to survive instead of fold and the Lakers didn't put in on N.O. the owners did
A great in-depth analysis. I have nothing to add. I couldn't have said it any better.
The old always complaining about the young it is what it is things change!!! I ain’t that serious!! Life goes on !!!
