Kansas City Native Carter Jensen Makes his Debut for the Royals #mlb #baseball

This is Carter Jensen’s major league debut. Jensen was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, and now he steps onto the field for the first time as a player for the Kansas City Royals. The 22-year-old is the number two prospect in the entire Royals organization. He’s also the number two catching prospect, as their number one prospect, Blake Mitchell, is also a catcher. Jensen gets a standing ovation from the crowd as he makes his way to the plate. He’s a lefty with good pop, but he also posted a batting average of.288 at Triple A this year. And you got to think he’s one of the reason the Royals were comfortable trading away Freddy Fine at the deadline. He enters this game in a very tough matchup against legendary closer Kenley Jansen, who strikes out Carter Jensen to end the game. Jensen would make his first start of his MLB career as a DH on Friday. So, he’s yet to make an appearance behind the plate, but he did get some more bats in this game. He would ground out in his first at bat and go 0 for two on the day, but he would reach base for the first time in his major league career on this walk in the fifth inning. So, he’s still waiting on that first hit, but what a cool story making his debut for his hometown
