MLB Needs to FIRE This Corrupt Umpire!? Astros Player Using “Illegal” Bat? Paul Skenes (Recap)

In today’s MLB recap, we have more Yankees versus umpire drama. And yes, this is the same guy that rung up Jazz Chisom Jr. that ejected Devin Williams and Aaron Boon. And also, don’t go anywhere because in that same game, we have an illegal bat that was confiscated or potentially an illegal bat. This White Socks rookie is doing things that we haven’t seen in years. Coulson Montgomery has been a man amongst boys. Paul Sches and Bobby Jr., we know that they put up some pretty stupid stats as youngsters, but they’re just getting better and better. And Freddy Peralta, he must know that Halloween is around the corner because he’s been a nightmare to face. If he keeps his shutout streak going, he might be able to catch Paul skins for Sai Young. Not really, but still. We’ll get into all of that and more in today’s MLB recap. We’re going the game of baseball one recap at a time. So, thank you guys so much for your support and also dropping likes and subscribing. Don’t forget that recap is brought to you by SeatGeek and Underdog Fantasy. Use code fuzzy. And if you like MLB the show, I’ve been posting a lot more MLB the show on Fuzzy Gaming. We’re getting so close to 100,000 subs. I’ll drop the link in the comments down below so you can go there after this video because right now we got to talk about the Pirates going for a sweep of the Dodgers and Paul Skins. He’s trying to get his RA back under two. Now Blake Snell, he had his worst goaround at being a pitcher in a long time. Tommy Fam, wait, do I see the name York coming up? I look at box scores while I script. Right. So Nick York, he is one of my favorite prospects in baseball and he’s been that way for a while. He smoked a double after Tommy Fam and Brian Reynolds did their thing. So that is a two-run double for Nick York. He could be a perennial. 20 home run, 20 stolen base guy with gold glove defense. And now it’s Paul Ske time. We have all eight strikeouts coming your way. There was a fast ball. More fast balls. Sweepers. More sweepers. I think back to the fast ball. I don’t know if that was a change up or not. And then he went back to the fast ball and then another fast ball. He’s down to a sub2 again. He has a 1.98 RA and this is after having a 1.96 RA last year. So in his first 306 big league innings, he has 365 strikeouts with a 1.97 area. That is just ridiculous. Mookie bets his 15th home run. It’s been a down season for him. The Dodgers found a few more, but now it’s a save opportunity for Colin Holderman who eventually got it done. So that is a clean sweep and skins is over 500. He is 10 and N. The Sai Young race is all but over. I’m going to knock on wood. I really wish that Zack Wheeler was still healthy because he might have had 250 strikeouts by now with 15 plus wins. But again, like I said in the intro, Freddy Peralta, he’s been a nightmare lately. We’ll talk about him in a second. One more game before the Yankees and umpire madness. The White Socks are looking for their first sweep of the Twins since 2016. This is big because the White Socks, they’ve been the little brother of the Twins in that division for as long as I can remember. And they finally have some pieces to be a formidable offense. The rookie Kyle Teal had an RBI single to begin what will be a career game. And Curtis Meade, he still has top prospect pedigree in my opinion. He was top 50 in MLB from 2023 to 2024. He’s batting .291 over the last month or something like that. Now, obviously, as you can see, pitching is still going to be a problem for the White Sox. They have to address this. Four singles from the Twins put them up. And after a Monty sack fly, Matt Walner torched baseball. His 21st of the season. So, the score is 7 to4 in the seventh inning. Kyle Teal again. He’s a rookie. This kid ras the leg kick and the bat flip got me fired up. He is so much fun to watch. That ball went 415 ft. He has a 133 OPS plus as a rookie catcher. The Socks scored a few more, but I’m skipping to this. Coulson Montgomery. I need the perfect perfect sound from MLB The Show on this swing. He almost left the stadium. And look at that guy out there all by himself. He is the first player in five plus seasons to have 17 home runs and 42 RBI’s their first 50 games. I know that’s like an ESPN stat, but he has seven defensive runs and five out of average as well on defense. Coulson Montgomery is a machine. All right, here we go. The Yankees, they’re about to have even more beef with umpire Brian Walsh. Again, this is the same guy who ejected Devin and Boon. Boon got in that guy’s face, said, “You effing stink. You effing stink.” Then he rung up Jazz on what I would say a close call, but it was a back door cutter slider thing, so it was never a strike. This is also the same guy who went viral earlier in the season for calling a strike directly down the middle a ball. Now, the Yankees, they’re trying to even this season series at three games a piece. McMahon drove in a run and you’re on. Him being back and healthy is so good for the game of baseball. That’s a home run. Oh no. What happened to Jazz? So Jazz actually left with a contusion in both knees. He got banged up on two separate plays. Ryan McMahon, he went a whole lot further for his second RBI of the game. He has five extra base hits and six RBI’s his last eight. Bellinger, he cannot leave New York. He has to stay in pinstripes. It’s actually 4 to2 after they traded a few runs. Both teams had some boring scoring. Jesus Sanchez, this is not boring. He got hungry and oppo Taco to make it four to three. And things are really heating up now. Altuve. He’s up with two on, two outs. Fernando Cruz unleashed a disgusting splitter. That splitter has a 59.3% whiff rate. That is the best of any pitch in baseball. He’s a dog. He’s pumped up. McMahon is clutching up again. His third RBI score thanks to Jeremy Pñena. That ball just deflected away. So McMahon now has seven RBI’s his last eight. Trent the big sleep. He just went deep. His 30th home run. A lot of people are saying, “Oh, it’s just if he’s a Yankee.” He has a 160 OPS plus on the road. That is insane. And uh-oh, we have more drama coming up. Taylor Tal, so we haven’t even talked about the umpire yet. He had his bat confiscated. I guess Aaron Boon had been in communication with MLB about this bat because there was some paint missing and maybe they thought he was shaving his bat because shaving a wood bat can increase bat speeds and increase your barrel size and stuff like that or flatten it. I don’t exactly know, but Taylor Triml took offense to that. So, it’s being sent off to MLB. Yordon. He had a fourhit game. It is 8 to4. The bases are loaded for Carlos Koreah. Now, it seems like David Bednar is just imploding. But what a pitch. He strikes out Carlos Kareah and then he unleashed a change up that had the bottom fall out of it. It’s 3-3 for the season series. But I do have to talk about all of the fuss with umpire Brian Walsh. Earlier in that game where in the sixth inning, Altuve, he lined one to Ryan McMahon that he clearly like clear as the waters of Bora Bora. It was a catch and drop on the transfer. Brian Walsh called it a drop. Aaron Boon, he had to basically go Bruce Banner in this thing and hold the Hulk in because you could see him wanting to erupt pause. But like MLB, they might have to step in and do something. Investigate Brian Walsh’s bank statements or something like that because the dude has to have been paid off by the Astros. I’ve never seen a guy with a literal vendetta. I’m obviously stating opinions. I don’t actually think that he’s being paid off by the Astros, but I mean, come on, Brian Walsh. What are we doing now? We have people going through his personal life saying that he’s a Red Sox fan, getting some payback. Brian Walsh, clean it up, buddy. So, those two teams, the Astros and the Yankees, we know they basically have the playoffs in the bag. The Royals, they want to play in that crisp October air as well. And they are so so I don’t know if they’re so so close now because Luis Renhifo’s three-run home run quieted the crowd. A loss here pushes the Royals back to three games of the Mariners for that final wild card spot. Adam Frasier, I don’t know what’s gotten into this guy ever since he went back to the Royals because he stunk it up with the Royals just last year. His 10,000th career base hit is a big one. Vinnie, he has 29 home runs and 96 RBI. I don’t know why I’m so obsessed with tracking his RBI’s, but he’s four away from 100 for the first time in his career. Salvi, we are tied up. He went golfing. If you guys want to see a real life example of why having leg strength is so important. I mean, look at that swing right there. Salvi is three home runs away from 300 for his career. Bobby, Bobby, maybe maybe it is a go-ahad Bobby blast. He has 41 doubles, 21 home runs, 34 stolen bases, and a whopping 21 outs above average. He’s going to get close to 30 F4 already. He’s still just 25 years old. He might be a 100 F4 guy by the time that it’s all said and done. Carlos Estz, he is now two ahead of Robert Suarez for the MLB lead with 37 saves. And the Royals, they’re back to within two games of Seattle for that final spot. Ranger Suarez and Freddy Peralta went to Rust or High-Rise with the radar on like this was a legit one v one. Neither of them allowed a run to cross home plate. Freddy, he had backto-back strikeouts in the fourth, but he was in a heap of trouble after walking Kepler to load the bases. But this is 2025 Freddy we are talking about. He’s back to being a nightmare. He hasn’t allowed a base hit in almost a month. He blows it past Alec Bow. So, he’s out after striking out eight over five scoreless. His scoreless streak is up to 29 consecutive innings. He has a disgusting 6.2 hits per nine and 176 strikeouts in 158 innings. Ranger Suarez, on the other side, was just as good. He scattered six base hits and struck out four over six scoreless. He’s getting ready for the postseason. Rangers wars is as good as it gets when it matters the most. Alec Baton for his strikeout earlier. He tripled ahead of Trey Turner who is now three base hits behind Bo for the lead in MLB in just terms of base hits. He has 174. Bo has 177. Ranger is now in line for his 11th win and he’s going to get it because my friend Bryson had an insurance RBI double. Bryson is hitting .325 with a 910 OPS his last 25 games. Bader. He’s been such a good pickup. He helps Johan Duran convert his 26 save with 101 to end it. Who is the favorite in your opinion in the National League? Is it still the Brewers who have the best record? What about the Phillies, the Dodgers, the Cubs, the Mets, the Potteries? What about some dark horses like the Giants or the Reds? In your opinion, after seeing all of the teams these last few weeks and projecting going forward, who is your favorite to win the NL pennant? The Rays didn’t hit a single home run. The Guardians only hit home runs and they lost by two. Gabriel Arius too much cheddar on that lowish throw that Manzo couldn’t pick. That is the first Guardians error in nine games. And usually when they make an error, they lose, so it makes sense. There was some singles, mind you, there are two outs, so none of this should even be happening. We have more two-out magic for Tampa. Carson, that is an infield RBI. Morell had three base hits in this game. He’s batting .315 his last 17. What in the world is going on with Christopher Morell? He came around on a Josh Low ground out because Rokio had a slight stutter. It just took him forever to get it to home. Carson had a second RBI on a beautiful sack bunt, if I might say. That’s why you do your jobs, kids. J Ram lifted a home run. He has 27 home runs and 36 stolen bases. He’s been in a big fat slump lately. Manzo versus old team. He has 25 home runs and a 916 OPS since mid July. The Rays have won seven games in a row. They are tied with the Royals at two games back. And I cannot move on without talking about Ryan Pepio. He had five no hit innings. He had 90 pitches, so he had to get taken out. But six strikeouts over five unhitable frames is awesome. He has a wicked change up and 95 96 on the fast ball. Sometimes 97 98. Now for my sanity, I do want to show this walk-off home run from Travis Bazana. He has a 415 on base percentage in AAA. He just turned 23 years old. Why not call him up? The season is probably over. Let’s get him some big league reps. Kind of what the Angels did with Mike Trout, what the Yankees did with Aaron Judge. Let’s get some reps and get him used to big league pitching so we can really break out in 2026. That right there is the shortest recap of the season so far. I’m really sorry, but I have a bunch of errands to run before we post a banger later today on Fuzzy Gaming. Again, we’re getting so close to 100,000 subs. I’ll see you guys over there. Enjoy the web gems. We off the eighth inning and he rolls a ball to the left side of the diamond diving stop. Lewis on his feet, throws to first. Dandy play. Backhand sliding play. Deainy guns it to first. And a liner going to be caught diving ground. Slice to left field and that will land fair inside the line and Carol will try for two. The throw to second base is going to be in time to get him. Broken back. Ground ball stopped by Betts on a back end. Up quickly the throw. What a play.

Yesterday’s MLB games featured intense matchups. The Pirates, led by Paul Skenes’ stellar 8-strikeout performance and Nick Yorke’s key double, aimed for a sweep against the Dodgers, who struggled with Blake Snell’s rough outing. The White Sox, powered by Kyle Teel’s massive homer and Colson Montgomery’s standout stats, pushed for their first sweep of the Twins since 2016. The Yankees and Astros traded blows, with Yordan Alvarez’s four-hit game and drama over umpire Brian Walsh’s controversial call on a catch by McMahon, sparking tension. The Royals edged the Angels in a tight game, with Bobby Witt Jr.’s go-ahead blast proving crucial. The Phillies and Brewers saw a pitchers’ duel between Ranger Suarez and Freddy Peralta, both tossing scoreless innings, with Bryson Stott’s double sealing the deal. The Rays’ two-out rallies outdid the Guardians’ power, despite Ryan Pepiot’s dominant five no-hit innings. Umpire Walsh’s questionable calls, including a clear catch ruled a drop, fueled ongoing debates about his consistency.

  1. 15 missed calls went in the Astros favor, and 6 in the Yankees favor. Nevermind that there were 21 missed calls in one game, that's bad enough, but that can be dismissed as incompetence. But that heavy of a ratio leaning towards one team is not an accident, it was deliberate. Someone needs to be held accountable for this.

  2. There is this sense of entitlement that Aaron Boone promotes as the manager of the Yankees… Just ejext him at the first sign of BS. Its not on the umps at this point. He gets tossed because he thinks it fires his team up when really it juat enables their similar attitudes.
