But let’s get to this one. between the Chicago Cubs and the Washington Nationals. The Chicago Cubs sending out Matthew Boyd for the start in this one while the Nationals will counter with Jake Lord. And uh you know the thing about Jake Lord was that he was having a nice run of form early on this season and even into uh the early part of the month of August. However, his last three starts have not gone well. given up a combined 16 runs, 15 earned across 11 and two/3 innings of work, six walks, and four home runs issued in that stretch as well. And now you’re facing a Chicago team in Chicago that, you know, hasn’t necessarily been the best against right-handed pitching in the last two weeks, but they’ve still been solid. I mean, to 261 batting average, the team LPS numbers are top 10. The isolated power numbers are top 10 as well. I think Jake Lord can get hit in this game. I still think that, you know, he’s just not the pitcher that he was early on and earlier on this season. On the other side, you’ve got uh you’ve got Matthew Boyd, who is still one of the better, I would say, more underrated lefties in all of baseball. And you look at the numbers for uh for Boyd in the uh in the last two weeks against, excuse me, for Washington in the last two weeks against lefties. This is a Washington lineup. It’s dead last and team OPS. the batting average 194. The isolated power numbers are dead last as well. There’s just not a lot going right for Washington. And that’s why you see Chicago instilled as heavy favorites in this game. And I would say for good reason because, you know, Matthew Boyd has also been fantastic at home for the better part of the season. So for me in this one, I I got to roll with the Chicago Cubs. I think on the run line, even though it’s hard to sort of find value with, you know, at minus 290 and you’re still laying odds with the run line. Um, but for me it’s just the EC you see Matt EC you see uh Brad Lord and yeah they got the win against the Mets with him on the bump but struggled against the Yankees struggled against the Rays and uh and they lost those games convincingly 105 and 7 to4. So for me I I just got to take the better team here and you know Matthew Boyd who like I said has been outstanding at Wrigley this season. You know if you look at the home and road split for Matthew Boyd he’s been far less effective on the road. A 2-7 record on the road a 3.62 62 erra, but at home 10-0, a 2.12 erra, 205 opponents batting average. So, I’m going to roll with the Cubs here on the run line and that’s going to be my free pick.
