  1. 3 hits against this lineup isn’t going to get it done

Pitching good, offense bad. Let’s get them tomorrow.

  2. I remember the stats on screen showing the Nats having the highest bullpen ERA post all-star break. Coulda fooled me considering how this game went.

But then again, they scored all those runs yesterday. That’s baseball I guess.

  3. The cubs love playing down to their opponent, it’s like they see an ERA above 4 and just assume they’ll win it. Also why do they HATE letting a rookie call up hitting? Have they not seen the brewers crushing it by giving the new kids a runway?

  4. And just like that the offense disappears a day after scoring 11 runs against a bad Nationals team. This is the 2nd outing Boyd had against Washington this season in which he didn’t get much run support

  5. 3 hits, 7 WALKS, 3 DOUBLE PLAYS, 1 RUN. No sugar coating this. Terrible offensive performance against a bad pitching staff. Not many balls hit hard either.

  6. ![gif](giphy|V6e0kch9OgUbph9jBB|downsized)

Hate to sound like a doomed but this line up is gonna get eaten alive by a playoff rotation

  7. Good bounce-back game for Boyd but my god 3 hits and 1 run against them is inexcusable. I just hope they saved up the offense for tomorrow because I have no idea how Colin Rea is gonna do against them tomorrow

  8. Why didn’t Alcantara bat?! A fresh young bat versus Grandpa Turner? I also didn’t agree w/putting Santana in over Busch. Terrible managing today. Feel better PCA, that was quite a knock on your knee. I still can’t believe how much we pay Counsell. 😡

  9. Offense likes to take a siesta while Boyd’s pitching. 2nd time Boyd’s gone 7.0+ innings and 2 runs against WSH, and he’s 0-2 in these games.

  10. Was today Sunday? Sure felt like it watching this ballgame lol

    Attempt 2 at getting 22 games over .500 – 0/2

Oh well. Flush it and win a series tomorrow.

  11. That was the type of game that happens when I convince someone to watch baseball who’s never watched baseball and then they never watch baseball again.

  12. This team just refuses to get hot again. Treading water against dog shit competition doesn’t really inspire much confidence for the postseason.

  13. We dont go on streaks, this is kinda how we play. Its whatever, im focused on the postseason and anything can happen there. We got a good squad when they hit.

  14. For once, I’d like this team to score at least 4 runs after putting up 10+ the day before. Especially against the team with the worst ERA.
