Steelers, Cam Heyward Reach New Contract Agreement for Additional $3.2 Million Before Season Opener

Hey everyone, Chris Carter here from the Locked On Steelers podcast with a Steelers update here. Breaking news, Cam Hayward does come to a new contract agreement with the Pittsburgh Steelers, adding incentives onto his deal for the total of 3.2 billion supposedly tied to the potential playoffs uh the Steelers appearing in the in the playoffs and then having success in the playoffs this year. This is along the lines of what we were kind of expecting here on the Locked on Steelers podcast. While a lot of people were speculating saying, “Oh, Cam Hayward’s really going to sit out.” We kept saying, “Look, he’s a full participant in practice on Tuesday, full participant in practice on Thursday. He had been participating since the Steelers had come out of camp. Even when he was sitting out practice in camp, he was helping the rookies. He always was going to play. Now the Steelers say, “Hey, we’re going to give you a deal, a few extra dollars, but it’s going to come with the tie to it needs to be activated by these incentives.” I think this this this deal was probably always going to get done in some way, shape, or form.
