If you haven’t seen it, the Dodgers’ Yamamoto took a No-Hitter into the 9th with 2 outs against the O’s. Served up a HR to Jackson Holliday, got pulled, the bullpen loaded the bases and let in runs, and the Orioles won 4-3. Having not had a hit until they were down to their last out.

I love this game.

But if this had happened to us? How loud do you think the calls to fire everybody would be?

I think it’s a good reminder that good teams still lose games consecutively sometimes. IDK, I think we have some fun fall baseball ahead of us.

  1. Its baseball… firing someone because of a single inning is stupid when you play 162.

At the end of the season the Dodgers will probably be in a world series with either a repeat or an NL pennant.

The Orioles will have this game, and not much else.

  2. This sub hates the Cubs. They find any excuse to shit on them even make shit up that is just objectively false like the Ricketts are cheap. They would just use it as an excuse to shit on them more.

  3. I mean the dodgers did just win the World Series. The cubs haven’t won a playoff in 8 years. The sense of urgency is not really comparable.

  4. There would be (rightfully so) comments on how the bullpen shit the bed. There was zero wrong with how they handled Yamamoto. They kept him in trying to get the no-no. After giving up the home run his pitch count was at 112. You immediately pull him there. Saying they should have kept him in to finish is 100% hindsight bias.

  5. OMG, we just gave up a lead in the ninth. Can we take this team seriously? Meanwhile, the Dodgers are just as likely to win the World Series as any other team. Would you really bet against them?
