Dallas Cowboys WR Jalen Tolbert WEEK 1 FILM Is UNACCEPTABLE!
Sometimes watching film ain’t about looking for the plays that these guys are making or the plays that they necessarily didn’t make. Sometimes it’s about just looking at how they carry themselves on the field. Whether or not they’re playing with physicality, whether or not they’re making their impact on the field felt, whether or not they are directly involved with the play or not, man. And I’m going to tell y’all something right now. After watching what I just watched from watching a full film session of all of Jaylen Tolbert’s snaps for the Dallas Cowboys, whether he was getting the ball, whether he was just on the field as a decoy, whether he was supposed to be blocking. Pay attention to the fact I say supposed to be blocking. Man, this picture right here is very apppropo because Jaylen Tolbert is actually pointing to the door that he needs to go out of on his way out of Dallas because hey man, this is unacceptable. And Brian Shottenheimer has absolutely been a man of his word thus far. He has absolutely walked how he’s talked. But he has to make a statement with this one because there was some things on film in that game with Jaylen Tober that you cannot make an excuse for. You can’t come up in a press conference and talk about how, oh, he he makes the right blocks. He’s always in the right place at the right time. But no, that is not the truth. I’m only going to show you guys a portion of my full film study, which is actually over on my Patreon. So, if y’all want to see the full 30 plus minute video, you can actually go and subscribe to the Patreon. I’m a member, and you’ll be able to check that out along with a bunch of other exclusive access including my upcoming trip to New York City for House of Highlights. We’ll talk about that at a different time though. But either way, man, let’s get right into this one. And if you haven’t already, go check out our week one game grades for the Dallas Cowboys against the Philadelphia Eagles. And Jaylen, Jaylen, Jayen. It’s always a Jaylen on this team, ain’t it? [Music] Man, shut your up. Not much going there. Now, I do want to take a look and see again. Do we get to run away from the physicality on the field? Do we get to run away from it or Oh, no. Not only did we Now look, look y’all. This is why we watch the film, man. because this is the type of stuff that you see that’s outside of what’s actually relevant to the game. Bro, look at this. Look at this. Has nothing to do with the play. Again, sometimes you can just look at a guy and see if he’s being physical, if he’s playing football on the field out there, even if he’s not necessarily involved in the play, because best believe the defenders, they they going they going to try to put hands on you any chance they get, they going to try to be physical with you. All right, so we got Jaylen Tobert at the bottom of our screen over here on the right side of the formation. Okay. Got a forward wide look. Okay. He motioned out. Nothing going. Nothing going. I mean, blanketed, covered, bro. Who are you fooling? Who are you fooling? And were you at least supposed to be in the way enough to make that block? That’s what I want to know. Were you Bro, look at this. Let’s look at this now. Let’s see if it would have actually been a penalty. Ball’s out of his hands. Defenders already passed him. He didn’t even get in the way. Didn’t even get in the way. Didn’t even try to get in. Completely avoided the contact right here, man. Completely avoided the contact, bro. I mean, literally sidestep the dude. Oh my gosh. Oh my gosh. Fail. Fail. He busted the play immediately. Immediately busted the play. Had to go to Ferg. And the reason I say he busted the play is if Jaylen Tobbert keeps his feet, guess what happens right here? If he keeps his feet, boom, he’s going to take number eight with him potentially, whoever this is may have to pass Jaylen Tolbert off to number eight in this zone look right here. This is a zone look. He’s gonna have to at least drift with Jaylen Jaylen Tolbert enough to pass him off to the next guy. Jaylen Tolbert was never able to even get enough depth because he freaking failed. He was never even able to get enough depth to properly take the defenders out to play like they should have. That play would have been a lot more successful. Jake Ferguson would have been left oneonone to essentially be physical with a defensive back right here. That’s what this looks like. I don’t think this is a linebacker right here. This is either Reed Blankenship or Cooper Deene. Jake Ferguson would have been left one-on-one with him. Instead, he had two defenders ready to essentially vice script. It was over with. It was over with, bro. Y’all look at this. Abso freakingutely not, bro. Abso freakingutely not. You can’t get away with doing this. Absolutely not, bro. Look at this. Look at this little swing pass to Cavante Turpin. Boom. Now Tobert wasn’t running any type of route. That is a guy getting lost out there on the field, not understanding what he needs to be doing. Because why would you just wander out there in between two defenders, not putting your position to either a get in the way and obstruct them from a direct path to Gavvonte Turpin or Block one of them? Why’ you just wander out there like that, bro? What are you doing? What are you doing, Tolbert? just oh well oops let me get out the way yeah well well that one’s that was a bad play right there and then had the nerve to put his hands up like rules are supposed to do I’m not convinced the way Tobbert runs his route exposes the play it lets you know where the re is supposed to start you can tell if the read was supposed to start on his side of the field or not by he runs by the way he runs his route that’s why it’s a problem with the way he’s running his routes and finishing his routes is because you can actually as a defense when you’re watching this on tape especially guys that have paid money to understand this to a much higher degree, a much more in-depth degree than I do, bro. When you’re doing this, do you you’re giving cues, you’re creating cues for defenses to be like, “Okay, based off of how this dude comes off the ball, how he runs his route, I know where the read is supposed to throw on his side of the field because if the read’s not even on his side of the field, you can easily tell it with Tolbert.” And that’s something we were talking about with CD. That’s something Aman brought up last year and Tobbert’s still doing it. Now, is Tober supposed to keep drifting up field like this? No, he’s not. He’s not supposed to do that, bro. He’s not. He’s not because what he did was he brought his defender closer. He made that a more difficult throw for Dak, bro. He’s not supposed to drip upfield like that towards the end of that route. I think he’s just supposed to go towards the sideline and let that be that. And if he does that, look at look at how the play is design. Look at how the play looks right now. J GP is about to cut in. He’s about to get that inside foot. He’s about to cut in up here. If Tolbert just drifts, if he flattens out his route, he just drifts down the 30 yard line a little bit. He’s going to take Cooper Deene completely out of this window and Dak is going to have, let me put this, if if Tobert just drifts down the line right here. If he continues to do this, Cooper Nine is going to be over here with him as well, right? He’s gonna have to follow him to that sideline. That allows all of this to be the window for that to throw into right here. That’s what happens if if if Tobert flattens his route out. But instead of doing that, instead of doing that, Tolbert goes down the 30 yardd line and then begins to drift upwards and then ends his route. He kind of catches himself. You will see it at the end of this. He catches himself. And so that brings his defender down the 30 yard line and then up into here, right? And Cooper Deene’s going to end up around here. Right? So now when GP cuts in, boom, and Dak’s throwing that ball and this defender’s hips are flipped towards the inside of the field. So now for him to cover this, he’s going to have to kind of do a loop to then turn around so that he’s going to be positioned behind GP anyways. Dak sees this. Dak knows this. So Dak knows this is an open throw right here. That’s why he’s unloading this. Now, instead of you having all of that space I just showed, now you have this space to make that throw. Y’all see why it’s important for guys not to be out there just running? Y’all see why it’s important, bro? Let’s let the play play. Let’s see what happens. Tober drifts. Look, exactly what I said. Now Dak has to throw this thing on the rope. has throw this thing on the rope cuz he brought a defender closer. And Tolbert catches himself at the end. You can tell he catches himself. Look at him. He’s like, he stops abruptly. He just stops cuz he sees where the ball’s going. He see where GP is. He’s like, “Uhoh, I brought my guy too close. I brought my guy too close.” No. What is this dude doing? No way he was supposed to do that. No way he was supposed to keep running like that. This was the highlight I seen and I was like, “Bro, was the play design like that?” No, Tolbert thought the damn play was for him and he playing defense. We blaming CD for dropping the ball and Tolbert playing defense. Offense, bro. He thought the play was for him. He thought Dak was and then he sped up. You see, he actually slowed down in the middle of his route right here. Oh my goodness. He slows down. Cooper passes him off. This is a zone. Look, he passes him off. He slows down right here. He speeds back up cuz Dak unloads it. If Tolbert doesn’t do this, this may very well be a touchdown because I’m sure that threw CD off. I’m sure that threw CD Lamb off. He speeds up and gets and brings not only himself but his defender back into the play. And I knew that completely messes up. Like he literally played better defense on that play than Quin Yan Mitchell. Tolbert played better defense on that play than Quinon Mitchell did. All right. So yeah, obviously I wasn’t a huge fan of what I saw from Jaylen Tobert on film. Now were there opportunities for him to catch the ball? Yeah, there were opportunities for him to catch the ball. was open a couple of times, but the way he ran those routes clearly tell he wasn’t even supposed to be a part of the progression on that particular play or the progression wasn’t going to start on his side of the field on that play. And some of the same criticisms that we and Troy Aman, by the way, gave the Dallas Cowboys receivers last year as far as not running out their routes or not fully looking committed to what’s going on and at least giving an impression that the DB is in danger. That same thing still seems to be present with Jaylen Tobert more than anybody else that I noticed on film. Everybody else, there were several times where they were running full speed. They were running with intent. It looked like they were at least giving the impression that they could possibly be a target on that route. But Jaylen Tobert absolutely if he was not a part of the play, you can clearly tell he wasn’t going to be a part of the play. And even the times where he did kind of flash open, I wouldn’t have trusted him either if I was Dak. I’m going just put I wouldn’t have trusted his ass either, man. Uh the blocking, the miscues with the blocking, absolutely unacceptable. The way he just sat there and watched Cavonte Turpin get railroaded by multiple guys. Man, I would hate to be stuck in the back alley brawl with you, Jaylen Tober, cuz bro, the way you just stood on the sideline like a bystander while you just watched it happen was crazy. Running guys into the way of other receivers on the field just not being aware of your spacing and and where you are on the field and what’s happening. It it’s just it’s it’s disappointing. It was a disappointing first game. And I’m not saying they have to do anything drastic going into week two. But this cannot become a trend. If it becomes a trend, then shotty, you’re not being a man of your word and making sure that the guys that are out there are the guys that can are capable of doing what you’re asking them to do. Cuz I know for a fact, at least some of the stuff that we saw on film, may not be 100% right about everything, but at least some of the stuff we saw on film, I know for a fact you wasn’t happy with. But let me know what y’all think about this down in the comments below, man. What do you think the Cowboys should do with Jaylen Tobert? And uh I’ll catch you on the next one, man. Be sure to subscribe cuz we almost to 40K, bro. Subscribe. We like 200 something people away from 40K. Help your boy. [Music] Am I still? Y’all use the check on me. Listen, listen, listen. I’m still motion of abortion. Hey, I’m still them boys.

Yo man did you play ball? If so what position?
Sign Holden to your active roster now for 4 years 4:56
There are teams that will be willing to give us a trade for Tolbert! We should persue it before the trade deadline!!
DC4L 👍🏽
Colbert has never been ready. He is unaware and just nit very good. He wouldnt make any other team. Get him out of there.
Trade him and Digs and get picks or just let their money get taken up by other teams
Trade Tolbert and Mazi and put Blue over Sanders please 🙏 we need juice i think Williams and Blue can be very interesting together and let hunter cook 🧑🍳
Yes this is bad man. I saw the screen pass to Turpin live and he didn’t even try to block for him. He has to go bro. They need to give Golden a chance.
Congratulations in advance for reaching 40,000 subscribers my Brotha! Keep up the phenomenal job and let’s goooooooooo Cowboys💯
Get him off the field and then off the team. He has never been good and he’s lost!!!!!
Been saying it for 2 years…he's a college player…not fit for the NFL
Still want to cut Diggs?
Tolbert is lost 🤓, Cowboys don’t need him
Cut Tolbert let Holden get a chance
Been saying this guy is trash
Get Tolbert out of Dallas ASAP he messed up like 8 plays in this game real talk he kept Ceedee from catching that pass
Get rid of that boy and let Holden spin.
Sorry but I had to go to my phone watching you on TV sucks not to be able to comment when I'm watching YouTube on my digital receiving device I'm screaming it on my device it'd be nice but I have to go to my phone pull up YouTube and put my comment in do I need to work on that probably complaining to the wrong person right my bad he's closer to the top God bless you than I am
Na he’s so soft this is embarrassing
I can’t help but dream about a Lamb, Pickens, Holden triple threat 😞
You should make a video on how CD Lamb cost us the game with his dropped pass and Furgason dropping the ball in the end zone and Miles Sanders fumbling the ball
It makes me so mad that he is still on the team. Where the hell is Mingo.🤬
But he was the #2 WR last year with Cooks hurt.
But it's all Dak's fault in 2024.
I’m still lost on how Tolbert made the team over TraeShawn Holden
I been saying foever to let go of Tolbert hes trash… Let the Real WR3 /2 Play Flournoy.
Holden or floynoid! Bench this dude
Send tolbert and a 1st rd to Miami and get Hill 🤷🏽♂️
He gots to go!!!! How we didn’t see Tolbert in the way 😡😡
The NFL might be too thick for Tolbert? Tolbert just like his teammates all have to accept their role and do their job. Hopefully, the coaches call him out during film study.
Ofc he ain’t block for Turpin…..
Tolbert needs to go he has know heart
Been telling yall he is King Size Trash Can made in China. 🇨🇳
Stay away from film study. U clearly don't know ball!
I been said get him outta here from last year and the year before that he’s no dogg matter of fact he’s too soft and scary for this team!
Damn, love this kinda content.
Gotta take a look at the weaknesses cause the other teams will deff exploit them lol
You looking at the wrong guy take a look at GP
