Dodgers vs. Orioles Game Recap (9/6/25) | MLB Highlights | Baltimore Orioles
30 years ago tonight, the world witnessed one of the most iconic moments in baseball history right here in this very ballpark. Cal Ripken Jr. took the field on September 6th, 1995 to officially break Lou Garri’s consecutive games played streak. There were many players, coaches, and staff members who helped Cal through his career and historic streak, and we’re going to meet a few of them shortly. But right now, we want to take a moment to especially recognize one of them as the Orioles mourn the passing of Orioles Hall of Famer, second baseman and manager Davy Johnson, who passed away at the age of 82. Now, please join me in welcoming some special guests who’ve come here to celebrate with Cal. Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome baseball’s Iron Man, the legendary number eight, Cal Repen. I was always proud to put on the Orioles uniform each and every day and compete. In many ways, I was just following dad’s instructions and Eddie’s example. That one day at a time approach turned into 2,632 games in a row. A record. Thank you for the simple reason that my team could count on me to be there. I’ve had the great good fortune to play baseball. I’ve had the great good fortune to play for the Orioles. I’ve had the great good fortune to play with and against some of the greatest players in the game. I’ve had the greatest good fortune to play right here in my hometown of Baltimore in front of all of you. Thank you. All right, Ryan, it’s your pitch. Enjoy the game and let’s go O’s. The Orioles looking for their fifth consecutive win. And they have the reigning American League pitcher of the month. Trevor Rogers looks to continue his magical run with a 139 RA. And it’s a redot start for a redot matchup. Trevor Rogers and the likely National League MVP Show Otani. That swung on and hit into right field. That’s a base hit. A leadoff single for Otani and that’s how this one begins. And now a leadoff man aboard for Mookie Betts and he gets Bets swinging chased to two seamer for the game’s first out. Jack of Otani at first and the pitch is hit on the ground. Oh, the mound fielded right to the bag by Holiday. Steps on second one off to first. That was easy. Double play as Trevor Rogers and the Orioles off the field with the left tainer seeing the minimum. Giving the ball to Yoshino Yamamoto. It’s typically been a good recipe for the Dodgers. Even though he didn’t get the official win his last time out, he did put the Dodgers in perfect position to win and they need him to do that again tonight. Second out of the bottom of the first. 3-2 pitch. Swung on and miss. Strike three. Struck him out with a cutter. Yalamoto with his first strike out of the night. And the Orioles gone in order. One-two pitch. Breaking ball cut a miss. Slower sweeper there has Freeman ahead. And so Rogers picks up his second strikeout. Second out of the top of the second and Andy Pahes to bat next. Swing and a miss. Powder river 95 right by him. Trevor Rogers is pumped up tonight. He’s had some great stuff. He’s retired the side in order here in this inning. Yoshino Yamamoto finished the first with his first strikeout. Swing and a miss. He struck him out. High fast ball. Second strike out of the game for Yamamoto. on number two will deliver the two-1 pitch. Swinging a ground ball right back to him. He snares it, straightens up, overhand toss to first and he retires the side in order for the second straight inning. Miguel Rojas, Kik Hernandez, and Ben Rovveet. One for every three over his last several games. And he drives this one down to the left field corner. That one is going to go across the track and off the wall around first. And rounding second is Rojas. He’s in with a leadoff double. Second and third, one out. Otani at the plate. Well, these are opportunities now the Dodgers have had difficulty with, not only on this just on this road trip the four games, but the last seven in particular. First pitch grounded to short. Henderson charges and makes the play, but that’s enough to get the Dodgers on the board. RBI ground out from Otani, scoring Rojos. Back-to-back walks from Yamamoto to start the third. Kobe Mayo, the number nine hitter, first baseman, a right-handed bat. Here comes a two ball, two strike pitch from Yamamoto. And Mayo swings and strikes out at the curve ball. Boy, that was a dandy, too. Third strike out for Yamamoto. Holiday runs well. Left-handed batter. Tough guy to double up. He swings, hits a ground ball to second. Rojos flips to second, bets the turn. That is a double play. They double him up. 463. And that ends the inning. One down in the top of the fourth. Freddy Freeman struck out swinging. Freddy Freeman hits one well to right field toward the wall off the scoreboard. Freddy Stinking too. And he’s going to have it. How about three, heads around second into third. Sliding safe with a one out triple. Second triple of the season for Freddy Freeman. And the Dodgers back in business in the fourth. And this is a must get in run right now. Down to third. Rivera fields the ground ball from Call and gets the out of first. Freeman held his third on out number two. Well, that could not have worked out any better for Trevor Rogers and the Orioles. Now there are two outs. So on one a looper shallow left racing in is Beavers and he’ll get there to make the catch. Freeman left stranded at third base. Two away a 4-3 put out. Two gone for Ryan Mount Castle. Sends it home. Swinging a miss. Strike three. He’s retired in order again. Third time out of four innings. Yamamoto yet to give up a hit. We’re through four. He’s one for one, a double and run scored. He’s scored the only run in the game so far. That’s swung on and hit to the left center field gap. That’s a long way. That’s going to split the outfielders and go to the wall. Roas around first and he is into second standing with his second double of the game. And they’re at first and third and Los Angeles is 90 ft away from being the first team to score two runs against Rogers since July 20th. Tampa Bay. Rovet had the sack bun his first time up going for a squeeze Roart Vet and he fouls it away and he caughio and he may have stung Samuel’s right hand. 21-year-old in his 10th start behind the plate in the major leagues. He was the bottom of the ninth hero yesterday. Whoa. Oh, he just airma mailed the throw badly to second base. But two high throws and he’s going to leave the game. Oh man. Alex Jackson will have to come into the game here. two in scoring position with one out for Otani. Boy, if you’re ever going to hunt for a strikeout, it’s right now. Otani flails and strikes out. Rogers picks up that fifth strikeout against the defending National League MVP. And what a spot to get it. So, two down and now it’s up to Muki bats. First pitch, line drive in and out of the glove of Henderson. Rojas scores. Kik stops at third and the Dodgers are up two to nothing. Rogers who has allowed now two runs for the first time since on July the 20th. Raphael Pomero and Bobby Bonia. The second push 30 years to the day where the Orioles number eight became baseball’s iron man with number 2131. Yamamono has threatened to steal the show on a night where there’s been a real buzz in the building. Swung on and miss. Strike three. struck him out with a splitter and that’s strikeout number five. And in his first start ever against the Orioles, Yamamoto very impressive. Two outs now now with two two swung on and miss. Strike three. Got him with a curveball. Six strikeouts for Yamamoto. He’s retired the side in order. Yamamoto has not allowed a hit through five innings. Two away. Swung on and miss. Strike three. Strikeout number seven for Yamamoto. He got that one with the splitter. And folks, you may want to get a hold of a friend, tell him to tune in. Yamamoto has not given up a hit through six innings. Down to second base. Wartvette. Luki Bets with one out. He swings and he belts it into left field. That ball is going to be passed a diving left fielder Beaver as it goes to the wall. RV touches third. He’s going to score. Bets around second. He’s on his way to third. The relay is dropped and Mooki is in with a triple. The Dodgers lead it three nothing and Yoshino Yamamoto 84 pitches entering the bottom of the seventh. Jackson strikes out swinging. Mark eight for Yamamoto. Two down in the bottom half of the seventh. There’s a ground ball to the right side. Freddy’s got it. Underhand toss to Yamamoto. And a dead sprint to the bag. Makes the catch. Steps on it for out number three. And the side retired in order again. And Yamamoto has not allowed a hit through seven innings tonight. Two down in the eighth. And Yamamoto is four outs away now. He had two of these special outings in Japan. Two that he finished. So he has been here before and accomplished the feat. Swung on and miss. Strike three. Got him. Eight no hit innings for Yoshobo Yamamoto. Yoshino Yamamoto comes out to the mound getting an ovation in Baltimore. Only one no hitter has been thrown in this ballpark. Hideon Nommo with the Red Sox. Got him swinging. That’s one on the 23rd swing and miss of the night. Extends a new careerhigh. First pitch swung on. Hit in the air to center field. Justin Dean camping out under it. He makes the catch and Yamamoto is one out away. On a night in which the city of Baltimore celebrated the number 2,131, the attention this evening shifts to a different number, zero. It’s up to 21-year-old Jackson Holiday. Holiday to right field. That ball is hit deep at the wall. It’s gone. And Jackson Holiday breaks up the no hitter. There are ways to lose a no hitter. There are devastating ways to lose a no hitter. And that is just what happened to Yoshinumu Yamamoto right there. But Jackson Holiday is a hero if you’re thinking about it tonight. Dave Roberts is coming out to the mound and he’s going to call for Blake Trident. Boy, this has just been a delightful evening. And by the way, this is only a two-run game right now as Blake Trident will try for the final out. Double hit by pitch walk. That’s following the home run from Holiday that broke up the no hitter. Where is the last out? This game has turned rather quickly from a possible Dodger no hitter to a possible Dodger no winner. Cowser takes the breaking ball low. He walks in a run. The Orioles are with him 3-2. A disastrous outing of the bullpin for Blake Trinan. Tanner Scott will go for redemption. Tying run at third, winning run at second as the Orioles look to torture the former Orio with Emanuel Rivera. Can the Orioles do it again? They did it last night. Rivera up the middle. Base hit. Matteo around third. Matteo will score. One more magical moment in time on September the 6th in Baltimore. And spoiled and otherwise tremendous night for Yamamoto. The Dodgers have now lost five in a row. [Music]

Prayers for bashilo (idk how to spell it)
I WAS THERE
probably the most weird 20 mins of baseball ive ever seen.
the dodgers pulled a seattle…went from not allowing a hit to being walked off…😭
ホリデイ君やった!!
Happy Holiday🎉🙌
興奮が冷めない!👏
What a comeback! I was at this game to see it happen. Good job O's.
Dodgers should have known the Os are determined to stay at 10 games under 500
Craziest ending I ever seen
Perhaps the best Orioles moment since the Del-double?
best game of the year
Talk about 'snatching Victory from the Jaws of Defeat'. I have never seen a more dramatic turnaround in a baseball game, at the last possible moment and on such a commemorative occasion, to boot.
Wow.
Not the craziest, there was that unimaginable comeback against the Red Sox years ago (Curse of the Andino) where we knocked them out of the playoffs. But it was up there. Two outs in the ninth without a hit. That's pretty crazy.
Thank you, Cal! A legend in every way! A memorable game at Camden Yards, with an even bigger comeback in the 9th! Congrats, O’s! 👍
baseball is fun
It is great that they made this in a homegame with full audience
video starts at 10:15
My favorite O's win since Delmon Young's bases loaded double vs Detroit.
Lol how in the world did we win this game?
Insanity
間違いなく今シーズン最高のゲーム!
Cal always loved Eddie!
That was one of the greatest games in Orioles history! And that manager should have been fired directly after the game for taking that pitcher out after Jackson's dinger. What a fking moron.
In the building for this. UNCLE PAT LETS GOOOOOOOOOO
Been an O’s fan since the early 90’s. Not always easy over here in the UK with late games etc. It’s my 45th birthday today and I’m going through a bit of a rough spot. Cal was my favourite player growing up so I woke up this morning to catch the extended highlights of the game. Wow! What a game, and on Cal’s night to boot. Thanks O’s and congrats 👏
That's why you don't leave til the final out, right? What an incredible ending! Go O's
21 year old Jackson Holliday
3 strikes away from a no-hitter
1 magical night for the Orioles and their fans.
Cal Ripken had an aura following him today.
Redirected a ⛈️ then gave the Birds some magic ✨️
The Angles in The Outfield where here tonight in Baltimore!!!
ノーノー阻止しただけでなく、まさか勝つとは…アンビリーバブル。😲👏🎉
I may have passed out from how hard I yelled at the end, let's go O's 🧡🖤
We O’s are blessed 😇 we didn’t let Cal Ripken Jr. down.
AI couldn't even make this up. Way to keep us alive Mr Holiday!
Wow, just wow! Going from a no-hitter loss to a walk off win, and what a night to pull it off. Congrats from a very happy UK Orioles fan 🧡🤍🖤

Oriole's Magic when you least expect it and on Cal Ripkens 2131 anniversary no less. I have a funny feeling about the year 2131…Lets go Orioles Magic!
Let's go O's
I went to sleep and the Orioles were down 3-1. I wake up and we won 4-3. Wow!!!!!
I'm glad for the Orioles win, especially on the night they celebrate 2131 and the passing of Dave Johnson. But I still feel bad for the Dodgers pitcher, to be ONE OUT AWAY from a no-hitter, and then they end up losing the game. That's got to sting.
HAHAHAAHAHAHAH LETS GO O'S!!!!
What's better than seeing a no hitter?
Seeing your team bust one up in the bottom of the 9th with a homer and then go on to win the game.
Cannot believe I get to say I was there
Jackson broke the no hitter with a home run with two outs and then it started a rally come back. Epic game for the o’s
Anyone else majorly disappointed that Cal's kid didnt play in MLB . That first pitch was embarrassing 😳 🫣
I walked out of Nomo’s no hitter. Had promised a student musical group a late night coaching session. They never let me forget it.
RIP Davey Johnson.
I would like a video of the entire bottom of the ninth please, with some extended celebrations
