We’re continuing a series on this channel where I ranked every single front office in the NBA from worst to best. And at number 25, it’s the Charlotte Hornets. This front office pisses me off so much. I don’t understand why they make the moves they do, why they draft the way they do, why they prioritize second round picks and late first rounders so much over having actual players on the roster. Why they’ve got this crazy long-term outlook. They’ve got all these project players when they’re winning 20 games every year and not adding anything interesting to the roster. Conanipple good prospect, pretty solid in a lot of ways. I don’t think he’s like the defensive stud or the playmaker or the Swiss Army knife that they need. I didn’t understand that pick. I would have traded back and maybe looked at a Colin Murray Boils for them or a center because you traded your one good center for draft picks. It’s really nice having a bunch of the Cavs first rounders in the next few drafts. Really, really cool trade, but honestly, I would have rather just kept Mark Williams. I understand he’s hurt all the time. I understand you tried to trade him once already and completely screwed up your relationship with him. That was a trade to be fair, which they could not turn down. That trade was like insane. Like what the hell with the Lakers? The Lakers are coming up for that one pretty soon. Don’t worry. But this team doesn’t have any center play now. Mason Plumbley. You want to start Mason Plumbley again? How are you going to sell this to LaMelo Ball? This is your franchise point guard. A guy who could legitimately make the All-Star team the next three or four years if he could stay healthy. Who’s next to another guy in the back court who could also make the All-Star team every single year for the rest of the decade if he’s healthy and if the team is competent. But they’re not competent. They drafted Ton Salon last year who’s the biggest project in the NBA. I’m not even sure what he does. Is he good at any NBA skill yet? I don’t really think he is. Again, they’re prioritizing this long-term outlook, but they’re completely sacrificing the midterm. And for some reason, they keep adding players, which don’t make sense. Why is Colin Ston here? Why are Trey Man and Nick Smith here? It’s bad enough to have one of those guys. Although I kind of like Trey Man, it’s really bad when you have both of them next to another defensively challenged guard and another defensively challenged guard and suddenly there’s no defense on this team and they’ve got basically a firstear head coach because last year was a total wash because of injuries. They’ve won 40 games combined in the last two seasons and they’re not trying to improve. This front office is poverty and they need to start moving in the right direction soon because they’re going to lose LaMelo and then they’re going to lose the frameworks of whatever core they had going forward.
