Cleveland Guardians vs Tampa Bay Rays (09-05-25) MLB Game Predictions, Picks and Best Bets

[Music] 917 918 we got I’m having Gavin Gavin Williams in the Guardians plus 121 Griffin Jax in the Rays at minus 133 total of eight some juice to the under at minus 115 beat up I ended up going Gavin Williams 6ks he gets this number about 50% of the time but uh I just kind of like how his stuff looked in his last start. Not big on Tampa Bay. Maybe some weather issues like every day. That little weird storm uh issue on the East Coast. If we get a delay, I like it even more. We got the chance for the delay. I I like strikeout props when there’s a delay. Uh give me Gavin Williams here. Six plusks. And I got to ask you, Bub, I kind of feel like the Guardian should be favored here. I’d say pitching advantage Cleveland, but what do you think here? What does the base model say? Well, the model says minus 152, but you got to factor into your your bias in saying the Rays are not a good team and they have the they have the third the third best XFIP minus in baseball, Kyle. Like, how how much how much more do you want? Not only that, I want you not to tell people. Just don’t tell people that. Just I I wish they would I wish they would lose, too, because I think we all have them under. Uh but interestingly, um the bulk guy I have is is Ian Seymour. Uh, and then I got another guy, Carson Seymour, but that there’s no Seymour butts, uh, on the card, although there might be some Seymour butts on under the bleachers on Friday Night Football tonight. But, uh, anyway, this game this game I I talked about this yesterday and just kind of reiterate what I what I talked about. You you look at the Rays and and the Rays are 71 and 69 in the standard standings, but they should be based on their metrics 75 and 65. Well, conversely, you’ve got the Guardians, and they’re not far behind in the standard standings, 69 and 70, but in the expected standings, they should be 60 and 78. And so there’s a big difference I think for me not just in the in modeling it uh making that price minus 152 but just looking at the performance what they’ve done all year Kyle. Yeah frustrating run for me here. The Rays were good then they fell out of it Kenny and now they’ve won eight of their last 10 including seven in a row. They’re the hottest team in the league. I need them to lose. This playoff race is tightening in the American League. You have the Rangers one and a half games back. The Royals two back. Rays two back. The Guardians three and a half back. Listen to this. The Angels are only seven games back in the last while. I mean, they’re probably not going to get there, but that’s You would think the Rangers are just like or the Angels are completely out of it. Baltimore, they’re not. They’re seven and nine games back. So, important game for both teams here. Kenny, I took Gavin Williams 6Ks. Uh, what do you think of this one? Yeah, I mean, I I I like the Gavin Williams the Gavin Williams call. Again, he’s a guy that I think we’ve talked about on here a lot. Just someone that I think regardless of the kind of form he’s in, I just had the belief that he could give you 13 strikeouts on on a gametoame basis. Um, this this Rays team just has the juice right now, man. Again, we talked about them. I think uh I guess it was Wednesday was their third game against the Mariners after they had taken the first two. They go in, they take care of business again. I think they’ve won eight in a row. Like this AI Wild Card’s getting pretty fun and we haven’t seen much of him, but like this this Seymour dude, I mean, he’s he’s looked pretty good. and the the few chances that he’s got looks like they’re going to they’re going to open with Griffin Jax and then and then go to Seymour. So maybe they they they let Jax get an inning or you know maybe two innings. Um if you if you have like access to a book where you can bet like you know this pitcher record x amount of strikeouts you know in the first inning or whatever like Griffin Jax is a strikeout machine. I mean you think he’s like you know a K and a half roughly per inning. So that was something I was, you know, at least looking around for. But I would do something here probably with with with the Rays. I wish they would give you Seymour Ks. I know he’s going to be like the the primary guy. I think you still probably get five innings off of him, but because he’s not starting, you’re not going to get that. So I got nothing here. I I like the raise here, but even like if you want to get real crazy, I could I could honestly see like a Gavin Williams 7K’s raise money line for a little reverse correlation. I got a nice number on that one as well. B. Did you have anything you wanted to add? Yeah, I just I just wanted to say like it, you know, the sports book of as far regarding the K props for the Tampa Bay starting pitcher. I guess Kenny would say he wants to see more. Yes, he wants to see more. I was waiting. I knew it was I I knew he’s just on fire. The Seymour. Anytime there’s a Seymour, that’s just a setup. That’s a trap for this show. It’s going to go this way. It’s going to be real cheesy. Oh my goodness. But for purposes of the show, I am locking in for me 6Ks for Gavin Williams at plus 120. And I made him the first leg.
