Alvin Kamara | Saints-Cardinals Postgame | 2025 NFL Week 1
do it. What uh what worked on the touchdown? Um I think uh just just a look we worked in practice. Um I think we got what we want. The tempo was kind was getting to them. We knew we would have that advantage right there. Um great block by uh Jawan up out on the perimeter and you know I mean it’s easy when you got guys kind of selling out and and you know trying to bring a a play to life. So kudos to them up front uh getting the job done. It was easy for me. Did you want more of those opportunities in the run game in the second half? Yeah, of course. But I mean, you know, every every game has a different flavor. So there a couple of things that we were doing that we were trying to get to and you know there some runs that I would have loved to got get to that we just didn’t, you know. Um and then you know you see how the game ended. We just pushing trying to trying to come back and get a get a victory and you know um tough tough uh play for uh Jawan. And I know he’ll make that play, but it’s just tough um when you play from behind right there just pressing. How do you think? How do you think play? I think he played well, man. I think he played well. Um it’s a couple of things that, you know, it’s it’s things that I see and I go to him and he before I even say anything, he’s like, I got to do this, I got to do that. So, he’s very cerebral. He’s understanding of what’s going on. I mean, I think he’s processing as the game is going. There’s not a moment that slips by him that he’s like that he’s that he’s unaware of, you know? So, I think that’s just something you you you grow on. Can you share anything in general that that you know he’s learning? Yeah, I mean just just I think one opportunity uh I think it was on a third down. Um I’m I’m walking up to him. It was it was a good shell look. I’m check down over the ball. I’m telling him like I’m going up to him to tell him like, “Hey, don’t scramble around and take any hits. Like just plug the plug the ball, right?” He’s like, “Man, I got to hit you right there. I got to hit you. I’m not I got to see it.” So, you know, it’s just things like that. like I understand that he’s processing the game and I think um NUS and those guys know that he’s processing the game. So, what did you like about how he was handling those last two guys? Man, I like I said I think during the week like the type of person that Spence is like you wouldn’t think that you know this is just his second year playing like he he go he walks into those situations and he just attacks him like he he he doesn’t come into the huddle and you look at when you look at him you don’t see a young guy you see a dude that’s like he’s ready to go win you know. So that’s that’s that’s kind of that’s a good thing, you know, moving forward to see from from him just the confidence that hey any situation we’re just going to take attack it. Why do you think there were so many pre-not penalties and how do you guys get back? Yeah, just I mean just the tempo, you know, being honest uh you know when you play with that type of tempo, especially this the first time out um you know you got to you got to be disciplined and I’m not making an excuse for anybody. We all have to be better at running the play, getting to our tempo, getting set, and and saying hut, you know, and I think that’s all that falls on all of us, especially as a QB. I know he’s going to say it’s on him to get everybody set, but I mean, it t it takes all of us to, you know, make that happen. So, um I think it’s just it’s it’ll get fixed. It’ll get fixed. I think this week I we’ll watch the film and um I I know I’ll be vocal about it. We just got to get set. You know, some of those times I I I’ll admit like some of those times I wanted to get in the huddle because I’m like, man, we I I don’t feel like we’re going to be able to get set correctly or get lined up correctly. I think it was a couple times where, you know, we’re going tempo and uh guys are running from left to right trying to trying to figure out where to line up and, you know, you to get to what where you want to go, you got to we got to be precise on every single play on every snap. So, some part of me wanted to slow down, but the other part of me knew that with with our tempo, we had a we had a um uh an advantage. So, you know, we just got to be better. We all have to be better. So, I’m not going to make an excuse. We just got to we got to we got to limit the um those penalties in those situations. Any other just big picture? Yes. One game we got we got 16 more. Um, I think Kellen said in the locker room, the only thing that this game says is that we’re not gonna be undefeated, which it is what it is, but we got to keep moving. We got another week. Uh, thankfully, nobody I don’t think anybody’s injured. Um, you know, uh, I don’t think Yeah, I don’t think anybody did. Anybody get a Yeah. Well, he he good. I talked to him. He good. I think he’ll be all right. But but yeah, thank God nobody Yeah. Nothing Nothing too crazy. But um, yeah, man. We just got to keep going. We need more. And the good thing about needing more, we can’t go nowhere for 16 weeks. What did you make of Chris? Just, you know, he seemed like he was really good when he went out there at the end. He he really got what? Just like really kind of grinding it out like uh Oh, yeah. I mean, that’s Chris, you know, he he he’s a competitor. He wants he wants to make a play. He wants to he wants to be the reason why we win or, you know, he want he he wants to make the big catches. You know, that’s that’s the the guy he is. You know, he works hard as hell, like hard as anybody during the week. Um, so, you know, for me, I love to see him, you know, in that mentality, in that in that state of mind and and then when those big plays do come to him, like I just love to see him having fun and happy. So, um, I know he wants to make more plays. He caught a couple balls today, but I know he I know he wants to make some big plays. So, we we we just got to keep working. Did you notice him fighting through kind of like dealing with injury and things like that? Like he he kind of gone to the injury tent a couple times. Yeah, he just I think he just got rolled up one time. He he fine. I mean, it wasn’t too much to fight. But did that mean anything to you? Like Oh, yeah. Of course. I mean, he I didn’t I didn’t question. I just look at him like you straight like we got we about to go on the field. He like I’m good. So, you know, he cool. Like I I I don’t I don’t worry when I look in Chris’s direction, you know. Um so it’s cool. I know you don’t care about personal accolades. What it means? I don’t know if you I didn’t know. Um yeah. No, it’s cool. I mean, it’s cool. Anytime I get in the zone, it’s a blessing, man. Game one, one touchdown. Um just that’s the know this is the only time we’re gonna talk about personal stuff but it’s cool you know um just scoring a scoring the first touchdown of the season need more need more I think all around all of us need more I know Jawan want that touchdown especially in that type of uh situation right there you know it put us in position to go um be in the winning column instead of losing column right but you know he again that’s another guy that when I look at him I don’t worry he he he works hard as hard as anyone um and he’ll be ble to make those plays. So, yeah, I just you see how quickly I shifted for me. Do you uh make anything of the lack of time out or like the end of the half? Um, yeah. I mean, we’ve been playing nine years, so you know, you get into that situation and I looked up and I’m like, you know, you see you see that that that them little ticks. You don’t see any of them and I’m like, ah. So, you know, it’s just again like those are the situations you prepare for in practice. Um, you just got to be very very aware of again the situation. So, we running a two-minute drill with no timeouts. Uh, everybody has to be dialed in. Um, get to the sideline if you can. If not, get the ball to Eric or the ref and and let’s go and execute. So, I think Spencer did a great job just getting everybody uh getting everybody in position, you know, clocking in when he had to. Um, getting the the play calls in and then, you know, hitting the the the routes that he that he had, you know, didn’t really force anything. So, I mean, I think it’s something to to teach off of, something to learn off of. The first go for it. Were you surprised the team didn’t use any timeouts to end the first half? Oh, I don’t know. I don’t remember. I went too far into my little dissertation on that one. Yeah, my bad. No, that’s fine. Yeah, my bad. I don’t even I don’t know. What do you think about Kendrick? Kendrick? I mean, like I said, I think he Kendrey, he’s a lot more mature. Um, and not in the way that I think he was portrayed before. I think just for me watching him, I’m talking about maturity in in his his assignment, you know, just like I think he his attention to detail and and his focus is is different. And, you know, I can tell um just cuz I I I’m just observing. I’m I’m an observer before anything. So, um just watching him, he he he knows what to do. I think before he didn’t know why a lot of times, you know, he was just out there, but I think he know he knows why and, you know, I think he’s he’s tuned in on, you know, when to do certain things. Um, so I think he gonna keep growing, man. He’s doing well. Thank you. Cool. Appreciate y’all.

i dont see what everybody sees in Rattler. he havent won shit.. so im like bruh a bum and a scrub until further notice
If healthy.. this is a team that will continue to get better. I dont think a playoff team though yet.. but will they be under 5 wins? nah.
AK41βοΈ
You know you gone Cajun Kamara . He said right DARE . (There )love u bro !!!
This L was not like those of the past season. Today was a moral victory. To lose while rebuilding and make Kyler scared (I saw worry in that man's eyes) we did a heck of a lot better than we were. Did yall see those tackles ending defensive series and putting the ball back in Rattlers hands?? We have to start sooner and be more disipline but I'm not worried we will be ok. Oh and dem falcons loss ! WHAT A SUNDAY!
Who dat 4 LIFE good job saints I just knocked the rust off. That's all y'all did now. It's I want to pop it from now on
My boy AK 41 who dat baby β€β€β€β€
This man is a π!!!!!
This guy is one of the toughest NFL players I've ever seen in my 30+ years of watching the NFL. The hits he takes and how he just gets up is insane. Old school as hell.
They need a rule change. I saw team is lined up and ready to hike the ball. But you have these older refs are not as fast. They need to start the clock when ball is set like in collage
Isnβt this the thug that committed a crime in a LV elevator?!?! What a perfect fit with that southern Louisiana fan base , he fits right in with all the rest!
Sounds like Kamara is really stepping into that leadership role π€πΌ
Needed more receiving yards from you big dawg, ah well⦠GO CARDINALS! Thanks fan duel.
AK got to love the bro
I do not ever want to see this man in another team's jersey. Him and Cam Jordan need to be lifers.
Only player on offense worth anything
AK def keep say signaling huddle β¦ heβs the captain listen to em
Go Braves!
Tempo looks like a potential future weapon, if they can get the pre-snap penalties cleaned up
