Um, look at the end of the day, didn’t make enough plays to put ourselves in position to win at the end. I thought our team played with great effort. We had opportunities to keep this game with the ball with a chance to go win it. Even at the end, it was still an eight-point game. Didn’t make enough plays. you know, going two of 14 on third down is going to is going to make it hard. 13 penalties for 130 yards or whatever is also going to not going to win many games doing that. So, that was disappointing. Um, you know, we couldn’t get much rhythm on offense. Our third downs were I think felt like we were on third and 10 plus almost the whole game. So, hard to get a rhythm going offensively and then when we did have opportunities, we had some drops and some things that happened that uh didn’t allow us to sort of keep going. Uh, couldn’t get any rhythm offensively at all. Defensively, I thought we played pretty good for most of the game, but the, you know, some of the same things, some of those third down penalties were critical. Um, thought we held them in check pretty good in the first half and then, you know, it got away from us because offensively we weren’t holding the ball well enough, uh, sustaining any drives and put those guys in some spots that was challenging. So, despite all that, um, you know, got the ball back with an in-point game in the fourth quarter on the road against a really good football team. So, um, disappointed we couldn’t find a way to win. You spent the entire offse when you have a day like today. Is that discouraging? Yeah, I’m just disappointed. I’m disappointed in that. Um I didn’t obviously foresee that being the reason that would make the game really challenging. So yeah, disappointed. I I thought we’d we would be better than we were and we weren’t. So we got some things to clean up and we got to get ready to go for the next one. the end of half sequence with the three spreads. Yeah, I was trying to be aggressive and see if I can get the ball moved out from underneath there and um we kind of got in a little bit of rhythm so I was trying to take advantage of of some momentum potentially and it didn’t really work out in our favor in that point. Worst case scenario to have turnown. Absolutely it is. Yeah. Yeah, that was that was um yeah, it’s a wild swing in the end of the first half that that I was, you know, tough to overcome those when you when you put yourself in that spot. And again, trying to be aggressive, see if we can get the ball moving back forward the other way a little bit and um didn’t really work out for us. How the horizontal passing qualify as aggressive there? What did you see that showed you that throwing the ball sideways? Did you have the Do you have the play calls, Paul? Did you see them? No. Okay. Were you expecting? Uh we had a couple aggressive play calls down the field, try to work across the field with some of the man coverage they were playing. So uh we just couldn’t didn’t hold up well enough in protection. They covered it pretty well. What happened just didn’t play at all second half? Uh I don’t know about the snap counts. I mean I’m pretty sure Yeah, I mean that was about his pitch count. He was between 20 and 25 snaps in a game. So you say during the week there would be no pitch count on No, I didn’t say that. I told I didn’t say anything about it to be honest, but he was on a he was on a pitch count. You mentioned being in those third and 10 situations, not every time, but a lot of times running the ball first and second. What can you do to not be so predictable and why on those first couple especially against this team, you know, they run? Well, trying to run the ball so we don’t drop back and face their pass rush every snap. You know, that was part of it. We ran the ball decent the first couple series. Um, you know, but there’s there’s you’re trying to keep those guys from from pinning back and rushing the entire game, which is what happened some in the second half and then getting those down to distances. We we had some production in a run game, didn’t have enough. Um, but but yeah, that’s why that’s why you do it is you’re trying to keep some balance and get yourself in some manageable third downs, which we weren’t in any of them for most of the game. Yeah, incredibly frustrating. Yeah, those are opportunities to score points and put the game away and we didn’t do it. What do you sacks push you guys out? What’s the teaching? Can’t take a sack in those situations. Um it’s a learning moment for him. This is this is a really tough test out the gate, his first start against this defense in this stadium. And um there’s some plenty of things he’s going to learn. He’s going to learn a lot over the course of these games. And um you know, he’s no none of us are perfect. He’s not going to play perfect. And there’s things that we’re going to keep coaching and keep harping on and um he’ll learn quick. Did you have an outlet on those two plays, Brandon? Were there places for him to go on those two play? Uh um which one’s he talking about, Paul? When you had the ball on 23 on the on the to Yeah, I mean there was there was potential. I have to look at it. I can’t tell you what it looked like right now without watching it. Um you know, we got we got beat on the rush pretty good. One of them I know we were covered, so I have to look at it. I’ll get back to you tomorrow about it. You mentioned a couple more guys. Don’t know. We’ll find out. Um we got to we got to do we got to do better job in that area. Um some of the things were were disappointing but um some of the some of the penalty stuff you’re at the the mercy of who’s throwing flags and and what they see and how they see it and we got to make sure we’re we’re playing within the rules. Jefferson had two and I believe they’re on third down etc. What can you do to grow out at? That’s something that happened a lot later. Yeah, things that I thought we had grown from and obviously we got to do a better job still. We’re not there yet. Um was disappointed that the false start was was an interesting one. Um I didn’t know that he crossed the line and all the guy did was point and they flagged it. I didn’t think he actually crossed the line of scrimmage and got back. I thought you had to touch a guy. But um and then the last one, he’s just he’s playing hard and trying to play through the whistle and and he makes contact and it looks probably a lot worse than it really was, but again, they’re going to call it. So, we got to pull off of those things and um we got to do a better job. Did you consider a challenge on the matter play where they moved out of bounds on the sidelines? It looked like his elbow hit inbounds first. Yeah, you got to get a foot in bounds, too. Uh which we didn’t have a clean look at whether his foot was down as well. An elbow doesn’t equal two feet. So, his foot would have had to come down as well. We didn’t have a clean look. So, the call from upstairs was that wasn’t worth challenging. last year. Yeah, it’s the NFL. I mean, the next game’s coming in seven days and uh we got another good team coming to our place, another playoff caliber football team. Uh we got to get ready to go. We got to clean up what we didn’t do well and get ready to go play another game. They come every week. There’s no there’s no grace period. You know, you got to get ready to go again. You make your corrections, you try to get better, and then you move on and go play again. And uh despite the, you know, the chances to learn some of the challenges that Cam had, I guess, how did you see him handle the moment of Yeah, the moment’s not too big for him. Uh he was poised, he was calm. Uh he he saw things well. There’s a lot of positives from from his demeanor and how he handled himself in the sideline in between series and on the field. Um so I I think he’ll improve at a rapid rate. Uh I think both can be true. You know, I think there’s some things that are encouraging. Um, but I’m very much disappointed that we lost. I’m very much disappointed in the things that we didn’t execute well enough and I’m disappointed in the penalty process. I didn’t think that uh that was something that was going to show up the way it did today. Um, for obvious reasons. And um, yeah, there’s there’s there’s plenty of disappointment. Um, but the encouraging part is that we we found our way to to to be in this game for most of it. Um, and we just got to find a way to play better when it when when we need plays to be made. All right. Thanks, guys. Thank you. Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. Heat. [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] [Music] Heat. [Music] [Music] Good question. Well, I mean, we didn’t score a touchdown. That’s that’s really the biggest frustration. Um, shooting oursel in the foot. Um, just staying in long situations, which we can stay with. Um, at the end of the day, we just got to continue to get better. That’s only game one. Uh, we got a long road ahead of us. We got 60 more to try to go get a win. What would you say the biggest lesson you learned from this start? Uh just got to be better situationally knowing when you know we on the edge of field goal range not taking a bad sack just getting the ball out. Um and whether that’s dirting it or having to get out the pocket to throw it away. So just be better situationally. Um, I would I would say just whether it was checking something or just to to get the ball out. I would say just throwing guys open more. Um, giving a chance for my receivers to make a play. Um, then it also comes down to everybody on offense doing a job, everyone a living. Um, so we just got to continue to grow together. It’s the first game. We’re not really um tripping, you know, too much on it, but we know we all got stuff to clean up, including myself. So, you know, we ready for next week. After you take the first one, you think, all right, this happened. Uh yeah, as soon as you take the first one, uh it goes your mind. Can’t take the second one. Um but the end of the day, uh you going through the play call. um I can’t control a lot of stuff, but I can control um the protections and getting the ball to my receivers. So, you know, I just try to do my job and help lead this offense uh you know, to score a touchdown. So, uh it’s just something that, you know, we a young group. We got to keep playing. Um we can’t have no excuses. Um but the end of the day, I mean, we we took a loss today, so you know, we got to watch this film, learn from it, and try to win next week. ass. Um, honestly, I mean, we ain’t score a touchdown today. So, I mean, the only way is up. I mean, try to score a touchdown next week, try to score score a couple of them next week. So, you know, we just got to keep on grinding, keep leaning on each other. Uh, continue to continue to, you know, just get in out of huddle. I think as the game went on, we we got better at it, getting out of huddle, um, not letting the crowd make a factor. But, I mean, it’s just it’s our first game together. U, we get we get a lot more opportunities to practice this week, try to go beat the Rams. Um, I think we very disciplined. Um, it could be some calls that are questionable, but I mean, end of the day, we control our destiny. We didn’t we didn’t do that to the standard that we want to. Um, so from my job, the offensive line to the running backs and the receivers, we all got to lock in on the little things. Um, so, you know, that’s something that we going to preach this week uh going to the Rams game. I felt good honestly. Um I just I felt alive again just finally being live knowing that it’s not a preseason game. It’s a real football game. But I mean the the rush that you get I mean it’s unbelievable. It’s something that you know you you wouldn’t want to trade for the world. So you know I’m blessed to be in this position. I’m blessed to have guys around me who believe in me. Um and know we just we just really trying to get better. So you know we just got to continue to take it one week at a time. But I mean it felt good to get out there. I’m sorry if it’s a little repetitive. You feel a little bit of a sense of guilt towards the defense when they give you the ball the way they were giving you the ball and you guys aren’t turning it into the kind of points you need to. Uh I mean yeah every offense offense should think like that. Um we want to be one of the best ones out there but the end day you get defense who gets three four turnovers for you can’t capitalize on that’s at the end day that’s on us. So, uh, we just we just continue to learn, continue to grow together. Um, continue to connect each and every day. Um, and I’m I’m just ready for to watch film, get to work next week, you know, try to go get a win. Say that again. Some of the positives maybe um that we can be explosive. Um, we just got to connect on the play from myself to the receiver group, but we can we can be explosive. Um, then also we’re we’re able to run the football. I think that’s a that’s a plus side of our game that, you know, we can run the football if we really want to. Um, and then coach Kahan, he’s going to always put the ball in my hands. He’s going to do what’s best for the offense. And so, you know, I’m excited to, you know, continue to grow with those guys. Uh, I got a lot of freedom. He’s given me that freedom since they drafted me. So, um, a lot of stuff I don’t have to check because he calls good plays. So, uh, it’s really just me what I think in the moment. If it’s a coverage I like, I know what I want to get to, I’m going to do it. So, u, me and receiver just got to continue watching film, continue them seeing what I see on the field and then me listening to them, vice versa. So, I’m excited for next week, excited to go try to get a win. There’s one play a blitzer person on you kind of play most people think are dead where you you kind of slung it under his arm. Think it maybe surprised to that that you got it all and he wasn’t able to collect it. Is that still the kind of play that maybe people have to get used to with you that hey, it might look like it’s dead. Don’t don’t count me out. I might find a way to get you the ball and be ready for it no matter what. No, they’re used to it. Um the receivers used to the Titans are used to it. We just got to connect. We didn’t do that enough today. U so we going to keep on getting Tommy down, keep on working with each other. U you know, when practice comes next week, you know, try to make plays next week. for him. Uh he a vet. He he knows what to do. But you know, I just continue to tell him keep keep playing the game. Um I have a great game, you know, I got to tell myself keep playing the game along with the O line and the running back. So um we had the ball down eight with a minute to go. We was down there in midfield. We didn’t capitalize. So, you know, defense that gave us opportunity to win the game. We didn’t get the job done. So, you know, airbound offense, we we all accountable for our actions. So, you know, we just going to watch the film, get better off of it, and try to win. Appreciate you. Appreciate it.

O-line isn't good enough for no Qb to work with
You can tell this asswipe is out of answers. Ward sacked 6x times and 131 penalty yds against 133 yds of total offense. Same as 2024. I'd sell you back my Ward jersey right now if I could.
Get JON GRUDEN
HEAD COACH FOR TITANS!!!!
They need to fire him
O Line was horrible, sorry you got your butt kicked Cam
I’m sorry cam
You freaking suck ass dude
Finally got a QB but nobody to throw too ! Also, I can coach better coming off my couch. What Brian did before halftime is a fireable offense, in my opinion! Dam, shame because Defense played their tails off!
Try bad play calling at the end of the half. Slow developing runs against the high pressure defense.
Drafted a new qb to run the ball every down. I feel bad for cam ward he found out first hand what Callahans offense is, Tennessee don’t throw the ball until it’s too late
🙄 I was really optimistic about the Titans O-line during preseason. I was wrong. Between the line, receivers that can’t catch and penalties, there’s not much to be excited about. The worst thing is coaching. Titans ran up the middle on 1st and 2nd down the entire game, even though it wasn’t working. They just as well have told the defense the play. No creativity, no adjustments, just really sad, predictable play calling, just like last year. Callahan should have stayed a coordinator.
So…our Head Coach doesn't know what a catch is? Awesome.
This is nothing but a continuation of last year. Terrible, TERRIBLE play calling, followed by the same meaningless excuses. We ran up the middle on 1st and 2nd the entire game, then threw Cam to the wolves on 3rd. No dicipline, no creativity, no adjustments. Get ready fans for more of the same under these coaches and GM.
Elbow does count as two feet. FYI
Callahan get out of Coaching. It's not your calling bro. You're in way over your head.
I'm afraid behind that O line cam may never get to reach his full potential no time for the plays to develope on the run all game long or he was on the ground the O line should show up for more than a paycheck the suck
Do you think he’s disappointed?
Feel bad for Cam. Amy really should have listened to Brinker and fired both Ran and Callahan.
Levis too was a victim of his coaching malpractice.
I feel so bad for Cam. If better & more versatile plays had been called, they may have won the game. AND if the receiver can hold on to the ball, they may have won. It's just so pathetically embarrassing. And it was NOT Cam and some of the other players' faults. Callahan needs to go & Ridley needs to get his act together. Hopefully he wasn't messing around so he'd win the bets online. Ugh. Catch the ball, Ridley!
I know I'm beating a dead horse as I watch Big D Henry run like a madman over the bills. But he didn't fit into the Titans offensive scheme? A future hall of famer? It is what it is until it isn't
Titans are going to ruin cam’s career… How sad
How can u get in a rhythm when all u do is run the ball on first and second down every single drive besides the time ur on ur own 1 yard line this guy is an absolute clown and a joke of a head coach and once again is the reason they lost and the gum chewing into the mic shows how much of douche bag he is
This guy is an nfl head coach and doesn't know what a catch is an elbow is equal to 2 feet you absolute clown show of a coach
3 passes called on our 1 yard line. LET NICK CALL THE GD PLAYS FROM NOW ON PLEASE.
TBH he looks like he just got done crying it out with his dad realizing hes going too be gone by the end of this season but if he makes play calls like this the next 3 weeks I could see cya even faster
LMAO when the reporter ask Brian when you keep running the same style running plays being predictable… why wouldnt you try another play style….his answer their d line just better I cant do anything with a throw…….yep INEPT…….. called create 2 tightend style pass formations chip blockingggggggggg……. sorry I feel like the COACHES we choose should send an IQ TEST RESULTS next time FFS
Some of the worst coaching I’ve ever seen
