So Christian Yelich was scratched with a stiff back and the Brewers have had my gosh a lot thrown at them recently. They keep right on going. Isaac Collins with a three-run shot. Milwaukee in a stretch of 19 games over 18 days. A grueling stretch and of course playing Philly. No cakewalk. Man on for Bryce D. Bottom of the fourth. August player of the night. Power court. He’s found staying behind the ball. Driving it the other way. Slugging 746 since the start of August is ball was killed. Wilson. God. Mommy. So the Phillies cut the lead six to three. But that is where of course it was. The score would stand Kyle Schwarber in the top of the ninth and that was it. That was Weston Wilson’s got edge too. Yes, he does. Yeah. Brewers lead. We’re aware by three. We got it. We are aware of your game. We know what you’re doing. We know what you’re doing. Strong game. Melie with important facts. So this game was big because the Brewers secured this season series win over the Phillies. So now Milwaukee holds the tiebreaker against every current division leader. Phillies, Dodgers, Blue Jays, Tigers, and Astros. So, as we welcome you back inside, where do the Brewers rank in terms of what are you writing down? That’s a great question. The difference between 162 and the postseason. What is it? No, I I was sitting there last night and I’m saying to myself, the Milwaukee Brewers are the be the best team in baseball for the 162. Yeah, I I I know there’s 20 some odd games left, but they are the best team in baseball. They’ve been it from pretty much since like May. I know it’s crazy. Bring up the f can we bring up the board Seth put together where we can take a look at what they all the different ways. Look at the MLB ranks this year. Obviously record their first runs per game we were worried about. They’re always a bat away second. They’ve all added value. Tangtech taken a major step forward. They’ve dealt with a Jackson Cheerio injury. Andrew Vaughn’s come over with the Reese Hoskins going down and been a revelation. Yelich still does his thing up and down. Base running their first. They know who they are. Pat Murphy has instilled this since spring training. Fundamentals, base running, defense, pitching. Don’t give the opposition extra outs. We are going to put pressure on them. We are going to force them to play a gritty style of baseball that they they’re not accustomed to playing. So, if you’re a betting man, we’ll get into it a little bit later, and you had to lay money once the postseason chart is kind of mapped out. I don’t know if you necessarily think Milwaukee is going to make a deep run with the likes of the Dodgers and the Phillies or if you think the Cubs are going to get hot, but you can’t deny one thing. And and we try and find flaws with everybody. And they’re I mean a lot of these postseason teams like I look at Philly every time Nola doesn’t pitch good I’m sitting there as Rob Thompson saying am I really going to run out three lefties in a row in the postseason is that’s what I’m doing. Great question. Great question. Which could I just want to give love to the Milwaukee Brewers who have played the cleanest baseball, the best baseball the entire season. Second and runs base running props them up. It’s not, like you said, gone are the days that the offense is it’s just pitching for Milwaukee. Yeah, they turn all the double plays. They they they play the game the right way. I’m not I’m not saying it’s the only way you can win. I’m not saying in in the postseason they’re going to be able to, you know, small ball their way to success. They still got to hit some homers, but they’ve certainly been fantastic. Phillies and Brewers wrap up that series this afternoon. It’s a game many of you can see right here on the network. Granger Suarez and your reigning pitch hand winner uh for the month of August. Fastball Freddy Peralta will get the start for the Milwaukee Brewers. An offensive explosion for the Blue Jays. 13 runs on 18 hits on Wednesday. And look at their series against the Reds. They scored yesterday in every inning except for the first two. And on MLB.com, there was a headline and it said, “The Blue Jays go as their heart and soul goes.” And there was a big picture of George Springer. Spot on. Yeah. I I was sitting there and I was thinking we were going to come up with something, right? I’m on with Wolan Cino. We’re trying to land a plane on either the Brewers or the best team in baseball tape. Yeah. Or something Blue Jays offense related. Okay. And you had you had said about that article with George Springer driving. He drove the bus. Driving the bus. And I was thinking first day of school and we were going to deal with so much. Yes. So much traffic. By the way, the the half day uh for the first week of school scammed. They’re there. Just keep them there. keep them. I don’t need to just drop them off and then an hour later I got to go pick them up. Did you take a bus to school? Hell no. No. You walked? No. I I I I rode my bike. I rode my bike and then I walked. I know you didn’t. How dare she was taken on a magic carpet delivered to elementary school while I was on the short bus. Petals of roses. I took the short bus to school. We had caviar. I’m kidding. To Orodel, 45 minutes, short bus. And then you ran the joint and then I ran the place when I got off until I was a junior. Right. And then you get your license and then you got a Mazda 323 candy apple red that I could actually turn the steering wheel in my hand. Unbelievable. That was my first It’s a good car. Yeah. So, so we were saying if you’re taking a bus to school first day, John Schneider might be driving this this offense. Mhm. He might be driving it to the AL East crown. Could be. Let’s go. Who’s he picking up first? We need the leader of the bus. Make sure everybody’s on their best behavior. He’s going to get the party started, right? You know who that is. Mhm. Georgie Animal Springer. He’s probably going to sit towards the back, but not all the way back because he wants his eyes on everything. He wants to know where the exits are at at all times, and he’s gonna set the tone. He’s setting the tone this season with a 956 OPS. It’s his second highest of his career and he’s got a 1300 OPS with nine homers in 17 games since coming off the IIL with a concussion. New kid moved into town. We’re putting him in two slots. Sit at the front. Only speak when spoken to Addison Barger. We don’t know you yet. We don’t know if we can trust you in big spots, but you have been awesome for this team. Third on the team in homers with 19. And then the coolest kid gets on. He sits all the way back by the emergency runs. He’s running it. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. third in total bases since 2021, trailing only Otani and Judge. Hey, Bo Bashette has kind of hit in all different spots in the order for the Toronto Blue Jays over his career. Since he’s gotten into that fourth spot, that cleanup spot, he has been fantastic. a 361 batting average and a 979 OPS in 38 games as Toronto’s cleanup hitter. Okay, there’s a firecracker in the five slot. Dad just got a job transfer and he moved into town. Watch yourself because his neck comes right out of his earlobes. So, nobody’s going to test Dalton Vo on the bus and he’s also raking for this team. 51 game sample. He’s got a 608 slug. And then backing him up in the six spot, the quiet, unassuming guy who absolutely mashes on the playground when he plays baseball. 12 homers this season after hitting 13 the last two seasons combined. He’s hitting 299 and he looks to looks to be the first qualified catcher to hit 300 since Buster Posey in 2017. So, I’m telling you, and there’s a lot more guys that could have went into the tapes, the Ernie Clemens of the world, up and down the lineup, but their offense is dangerous. Their rotation’s going to give them a chance. Yeah, they’re feeling pressure from Boston and New York, but they keep right on winning. It’s a three and a half game lead right now. There’s a about that kids that grew up in the 70s and 80s that the school bus was their Google. That’s how you found out about everything. Oh, don’t say it. No, no, don’t say it. Everything. I loved getting on the bus. Yeah, it was, you know, other field trips and stuff. It reminds me of like going to a high school football game or going to a high school baseball game and all the boys are on the bus, you know, having at it, playing playing Grab Tush.
