Dallas Cowboys can be ‘a pain in the butt’ in the NFC | Chris Simms Unbuttoned | NFL on NBC

All right, we’re going to shift gears now to the opening game of the year, the Eagles Cowboys. First off, Jaylen Carter. I haven’t got to talk about that. That was one of the dumbest things I’ve seen in professional football in a long time. I mean, that was just dumb. And is you’re the best player in football or one of the best defensive players in football. They have a rookie guard in Dallas that’s playing in the football game. That was one of the weaknesses of the matchup. You let them off the hook there. That was incredible. Right. So, and it was deflating to the Eagles football team. It was deflating to the stadium. You felt it there. So, that’s where it was really bad. But after that, I do want to talk about the Dallas Cowboys and some of the things I saw from their football team. Dallas, Dak Prescott played really well. Those receivers are going to be a problem on the outside. I know CD Lamb had some big drops, but Pickkins, CD Lamb, right, they got to feed Pickkins the ball and cause some more plays for him as they go forward here. But that’s a dangerous duo there as we know and encouraged with how the Cowboys offensive line looked as a whole. I mean, they protected pretty damn good against a good front, right? I think there’s potential to get better in the run game. They ran the ball better than I thought as well. So, I just think the Cowboys, I know they lost Micah Parsons, but there’s still talent in that football team that catches my eyes to go, “Oh, they’re going to be a pain in the butt in the NFC.” I’m not sure it means playoffs. We’ll see where it goes, but Dak Prescott certainly seemed like a man on the mission, right? and they stood toe-to-toe with the Philadelphia Eagles. Eagles looked good, but the defense wasn’t as dominant, right? Week one, I don’t know. It’s hard. Again, when you don’t play in the preseason, offense was good, but not great. The offense is simple in Philadelphia. That’s what they are. And when they can’t dominate in the run game, sometimes it just goes, h it’s not that it’s not that beautiful. It’s not that sexy all the time. The big plays of the night were what? One deep post over the top to Datson. Most of the other big plays were Jaylen Herz running and scrambling. How could he not get the ball to AJ Brown? So, as dominant as the Eagles are, sometimes their offense underwhelms me with their schematical creativity. Either way, they win the football game. We know they’re elite. They got the Chiefs next week. Good job by them. But my point there, watch out for the Cowboys. And I can’t believe Jaylen Carter did that. Come on, Jaylen Carter. Like you listen to me this podcast, everybody knows I think it’s Micah Parsons and Jaylen Carter might be the two best players in in football on the defensive side of the game right now. And that was a shame to see him not even play a snap. Yo yo homies, it’s time to watch some games. That’s right, we’re on to the NFL season here with Chris Sims unbutton. 1. I hear this every season about the Cowboys lol ๐Ÿ˜† they could finish 15-2 or 16-1 and I still wouldn't pick them to go to nfc championship or the super bowl.. I'm not worried about them at all.
