Salary Cap Breakdown – Chicago Bulls
Heading into next season, the Chicago Bulls second, third, and fourth highest paid players on their salary cap are Zack Collins, Patrick Williams, and Kevin Herder. So, anyways, they’ve made a couple of small moves this off season, starting with a trade with the Cleveland Cavaliers. It was a straight swap, Lonzo Ball for Isaac Coro. Then they gave a new contract to Trey Jones, 3 years, 24 million with a team option. And then at the draft, they had the 12th pick where they selected Noah Essenay. And then in the second round, after a trade with the Lakers, they ended up with the 55th pick, Lachlan Olrich, but he’s on a two-way contract. Finally though, like the Warriors, the Bulls still have an unresolved contract negotiation with a restricted free agent. In their case, Josh Giddy. His qualifying offer, worthy to take it, is just over 11 million. But there’s optimism that it won’t come to that for Giddy and the Bulls. They’ve offered something in the neighborhood of 4 years 88 million. However, Giddy was seeking upwards of 30 million per year. So, we’ll see if they can meet somewhere in the middle. The deadline for all of these qualifying offers is October 1st, so we should have a better idea of what these restricted free agents are going to do by then.
Here’s what the Bulls salary cap looks like heading into next season, pending Josh Giddey’s new contract
