CC Sabathia Hall of Fame Ceremony | NEW YORK YANKEES 2025
How about this start for the Yankee Ace? An absolute gem. CeCe don’t play and the 2-2. He struck him out. And next up, CeCe Seabathia, the Hall of Fame. Oh, this is fire. That’s pretty dope. Black aces. This is dope though. like all the black aces. It’s crazy. It’s only that many black dudes to win 20 games in the big leagues, the history of the game. You know what I’m saying? 15 dudes. You like it? Oh, yeah. That’s incredible. That black aces piece is like, isn’t that incredible? Isn’t that great? Yeah. I wanted to have something with that in here and my exhibit designer ended up giving the whole bottom. I said, I love that. That’s incredible. Cuz I know that’s something that’s really important. I want people to see and understand what that is. And have a mud hat in the front. No on the other side. [Laughter] make sure the eat side. I remember when uh I would always see people like holding a World Series trophy like you know they like grab it, hold it over their head and I was like, “Oh, this can’t be that heavy.” And then they hand it to you and it’s like, “Oh yeah, this thing is like 40 lb.” Yours is right here. Oh, nice. Right next to AJ, Jason. Nice. that stays showed up at the same time and everyone crowd my favorite 1953 right here. The team won five World Series in a row. 1949 to 53. So there on the diamond Yogi said that was his favorite. I figured if it’s good enough for Yogi, you know, it’s cool how you can see like the evolution of like the Mhm. And then ours. Yeah. I remember though uh we had a meeting the night before the first uh postseason game. was in uh here in the press room down here and everybody was getting up talking and talking about you know the season and what we going to do and or how you know how we got to this point and the last person to speak was was Gino Jean oh and he got up and he was like we only need 11 more wins like he was like you guys been doing it all year and when he said that I was like oh yeah I mean all Right. Satchel Paige. Satchel Page pitched one game for the Black Yankees 1941. Bob Feller and Satchel Paige were best buddies. They were boys. Yeah. Spent a lot of time with Bob Feller. Yeah. Yeah. What did you think of him? I loved him. Yeah. Yeah. He taught me a lot. And he would go around with Sachs and all those dudes and do the barntorming and play all over. I’m not tall, bro. Mr. C. I want you to man. Thank you so much. No problem. Appreciate everything you done. Thank you. Thank you. Let me shake your hand. Nice to meet you. Nice to meet you. How you doing? What’s going on, boss? How you doing? Nice to meet you, man. Congratulations, man. No problem, bro. Very happy. No problem. Oh my gosh. All right. Mr. Sebastian Cece, how are you, man? Good. How are you? two of your greatest fans. Oh, thank you so much. Thank you. My childhood hero, man. Thank you so much. I got a quick Yeah, let’s do it. My favorite. I appreciate it, man. I was wondering why there’s such a delay going to get my man. How you doing, man? Congratulations. Thank you, bro. We were both rookies in 2001 with the Indians. Okay. In the front office. Oh, nice. [Music] How about that? They might be part of the ceremony. The hell you driving in? I go drive. I’m going to drive for you. I’m going to choke you in, brother. Please welcome people’s wife Amber and his children Jia and driven by his good friend and fellow Yankees left-handed legend Andy Petty. Let’s hear it for Hall of Famer number 52 Cavia. [Music] all the guys that I played with over the years, but most importantly, I want to thank the fans. Um, [Applause] thank you guys for showing up every single night, bringing the energy. I hope you guys um, you know, understood and and appreciated what I tried to bring to the mound every fifth day. Uh, so thank you. I love you guys. Fans, let’s hear it one more time for the newest member of the Hall of Fame, CC Sabathia. [Applause]
