All right, let’s get into it. Nice little inner league matchup here between Brewers and Rangers. There are some playoff implications of this series. Not much for Milwaukee. They likely have the National League title wrapped up unless they hit a major slump here down the stretch. But for Texas, this is a big series because they are fighting for a wildcard spot in the AL currently as it stands. On the mound in this matchup, it’s going to be Jack Lighter for the Rangers. And though it’s not officially confirmed yet, it is looking like Chad Patrick for Milwaukee. Patrick’s been a little bit up and down on the season, both literally with his pitching performance, but also he’s been sent down a triple AAA and recalled back up a couple times. But through his 20 starts on the season, he does have a 360 erra. And in his two games back, since his most recent call up, he’s allowed five earned runs through 10 and a third innings pitched. Now for Texas, Lighter has been great. He’s been lighting it up, no pun intended, 253 RA in his last five games. That said, I don’t really particularly feel strong about Texas in this spot. The Rangers were dominant through the end of August. Their offense was really hot, but they’ve really cooled down the last week or so. They’re averaging just over two runs a game and only batting 200 in their last five. Their bullpin has also been pretty brutal, to be honest. So ultimately with Milwaukey’s uh bats being hotter, especially against left-handed pitching and with their more dependable bullpin as of late, I’m going to roll with the Brewers here and take Milwaukee on the money line for today’s free pick.
