Jomboy didn’t mind the Blue Jays pitch tipping quotes #yankees #newyork #mlb #baseball #sports

The Yankees have been tipping pitches when they can see the pitcher’s grip in his glove all season and it has not been a secret. We’ve asked Boon about it. What they said is uh they shouldn’t be so blatant about it. But I think what you guys are saying is why like you fix it. My a lot of teams are doing this. It’s been like kind of the the season of the uh second base signal. You’re not a base runner, you’re a scout when you’re out there. The Blue Jays are on the receiving end of this a decent amount this year. And Schneider said they were relaying pitches. MLB knows Yankees are good when they have something. We have to do a better job of making sure we’re not giving anything away. And the second half of that he’s saying it’s not illegal and Sherzer said it’s not illegal. That’s on us to make sure that we’re not giving it away. nice subtle jab that the Yankees are good when they have something, which is a criticism that I have had and like Yankees fans have had this season is like it seems like if they know what’s coming, they’re good. And if they don’t, they get absolutely shut out by some pitchers. Schneider’s kind of poking that bear a little bit with that subtle quote.

  1. Could it be the target the catcher sets up for the pitcher too early? Seems like if you study how a catcher and his pitcher like to get certain match ups out, a runner on second can see the catcher set up his glove up and in and and as a hitter you can be pretty confident you’re gonna see a sinker/two seam, or at least that’s how it played out here.

  2. 100% They beat up bad teams/pitchers, especially if they are able to relay signs. But when they cant, and dont foul off pitches, and dont execute fundamentals, they lose games. Based on their run differential, they are 6 games under their expected win total, whereas the Jays are 4 games over.

  3. I don't like it, but the Astros got a WS outta it & sign stealing has been around for a very long time. Who knows how many teams one a WS because of it. I think the biggest problem is umpires strike zones. They can turn an outcome on a dime & they've also been doing it a very long time. We've excepted tech advancements for bat's, balls, gloves, helmets, techniques an so on, why not the strike zone ? It's high time !

  4. I'm a Jays fan, I'm annoyed we couldn't hit with RISP. As for Yankees relaying tipped pitches, totally fair game imo. That's on Mad Max to prevent that.

  5. Realistically there’s a runner on second maybe 10% MAYBE 20% of the time someone’s in the box. To me thats not enough to completely change the landscape of the game especially when Toronto couldn’t score with risp

  6. I'm a Jays fan – I 100% agree.

As long as you aren't cheating like the Astros did.

A runner on base should be trying to relay signs if he can figure it out.

Part of the game, zero issue with it.
