I don't know if this was mentioned, but if it was feel free to remove this!

Yesterday's game marked the first time the Steelers put up 30 points in a week one game since they faced the then Washington Redskins in week one of the 2016 season on the night of September 12th, where the Steelers won 38-16.

The 2016 season is also the most recent season the Steelers won a playoff game, where they went all the way to the AFC Championship, losing to the Patriots. That season was also the last under ownership of Dan Rooney.

  1. In various comments I was looking at around the internet, I think it was said this was the first opening drive TD since 2008 or something? I must have read that wrong and didn’t look for confirmation. That can’t be correct, can it?

  2. >That season was also the last under ownership of Dan Rooney.

And Dan Rooney will get some honoring during the Dublin game.

  3. I remember that game so fondly. I was hanging out with my buddies at their crib downtown. Genuinely one of the most fun nights I’ve ever had watching football. AB starting it off by twerking set the mood and the night just got better and better.

  4. aw man i remember this TD. i think it was like 4th and 3 or something and i saw Ben lob it up and i was thinking “oh fuck man we only need 3 yards” until i saw it was going to AB
