And on one hand, the Bengals were lucky to leave Cleveland with a win. They had seven total yards in the second half and didn’t win. And then the Browns kicker missed two layups. Mhm. All he needed was one of the layups. Two bunnies got blown. Um and that said, Bengals defense helped out. got some takeaways. They boat up to leave the place kicker having to come back on the field. You could see Stfansky was like trying to not bring the the kicker out. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. You know, so Cincinnati got it done and last I checked there’s no pictures on the scorecard and last I checked 17 points was only going to be good enough to be half the total of their opponent. Last I checked, that’s all we were talking about. The Bengals defense. How in the world are the are the Bengals gonna Joe Borrow gonna overcome his own defense? And you know, don’t give me the Flacos ancient. Well, I am. I mean, you can’t do it, man. Those Browns, it wasn’t the ‘ 07 Patriots. Like, they had double they had Broncos. They had double the first downs of of the uh Bengals. They doubled up in total yards. All Flaco checked down a hundred times in that game. But guess what? Maybe the reason why is because everyone was covered deep. Let’s see, man. We’re all saying the Bengals can’t win because their defense stinks and their defense is the reason why they’re 1 and0 and the place kicker of the Browns. But the the fact that the Browns didn’t put it in the end zone to bring the place kicker out was very helpful. So, they’re up next against an equally 1 and0 team, Jacksonville. Yeah, we’ll see how many games the Bengals win when Joe Burrow has 120 yards and Chase has 30 yards. We shall see. And we’ll find out if Cleveland’s defense is as good as we saw yesterday. They’re next up against Baltimore. And here comes Lamar. And here comes Derek Henry. And good luck. That is going to be everyone’s Survivor pick next week. Maybe so. Maybe. So this week’s one, Denver made people sweat a ton. Jeez, you’re telling me. But Cincinnati, I I’m not going to sit here and go, “Their defense stinks. They’re never going to be able to win.” And then when the defense rules the day, can’t say, “Oh, the offense stinks, so they have got no shot.” Because, you know, Burrow and Chase and Higgins and Chase Brown, they’re going to figure that out. I would imagine they’re going to figure that out. Oh my god. You know, entering tonight’s Monday Night Football game, only 35 touchdown passes thrown leaguewide. And um that’s got to be a one of the lowest totals in a while. It matched last year’s week one total. Oh, interesting. So, Monday Night Football is going to surpass it, one would think in the last few years. I don’t know if it’s because that’s when preseason started to be changed, the number of preseason games and who’s playing in them because in 2022 it was 51. In 21 it was 61. So, whatever was ailing the Bengals offense is a leaguewide issue. Well, Rogers was the only one with four, right? Ah, because he was playing the Jets.   2. Come December if we are holding a playoff spot I don't think we are going to remember anything about this game other than the W. It's week one, the offense has always gotten better as the season went on and finally the Defense made plays when they needed to. I am not worried at this point.

  6. As long our defense hold teams to under 20 points a game we will be just fine!! Take these type of wins then stellar performance from the offense and then lose cause we couldn't stop the other team!

  7. Bengals O-Line kept collapsing on Burrow. D-Line held the Browns for the loss. O-Line really needs some more work at this point. Would have helped to have 91 in camp to prep for the season. It was a win, but it definitely wasn't pretty. But a win is still a win.

  9. Cincy got lucky. Both interceptions were easy catches the receivers let go off their hands and the kicker missed easy kicks. Cleveland was the better team. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than good

  10. The Bengals defense won them the game, period!!! What do you want? they got a win on the road with their defense in Cleveland! There’s no ugly win category.

  12. These guys do this every year. "Let's see how many games Burrow wins with (insert first game stats here)." When in the last three years have the Bengals performed as poorly as in their first game throughout the year? These people just refuse to observe history. And this year they managed to win game one! And the Browns one both games and royally whooped the Bengals in 2021. You know, the year the Benglas went to the Super Bowl. So, the Bengals have an Achilles for Cleveland. You would think a professional sports analyst would see that. Rich Eisen is spot on. They won. And their D showed up. That was unexpected. This might get ugly for the rest of the AFC North.

  16. The Bengals only had 7 yards in the 2nd half and the Browns still weren't good enough to beat them. Catching the ball and place kicking is part of the quality of a team. There is no such thing as luck in a game of skill. You are good enough or you aren't.

  18. The problem is it felt more like the Browns snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. The picks weren’t bad throws or reads, just batted off the hands of receiver and the Browns outplayed and outgained the Bengals. At the end of the day the Bengals won but definitely stole one

  22. The defense definitely played much better than I had anticipated. They lost these games last year. Who cares, a win is a win. They always struggle against Cleveland for some reason.

  28. That's not all the defense stood tall the browns could have scored in the second half but they didn't so the defense shut them out in the second half so it's not it the Bengals actually did a good job yes they got help with two Miss kicks but let's not just beat on them after a win

When we lose the close, gritty game the narrative is that we're bad. When we win the close, gritty games the narrative is the other team lost 😂😂😂😂😂😂 all last season the narrative was offense no defense, now that the defense won the game, the haters want to act like our offense will never exist again smh……welp Who Dey

  36. Goalposts are always moved on the Bengals. Before Week 1 all was talked about is the Bengals slow starts and how they need to start winning in September. They win and now it's, well they didn't win pretty enough. Didn't know style points show up in the standings. 🤷🏾‍♂️ They are 1-0 and that's what matters at this point.

  37. That is why last year it was a lazy take to say the defense is why they lost… They went 3-2 when the offense failed to score 20 points last year. And they went 0-6 when the team gave up 30 or more… So Taylor could not win a single game with all those weapons last year in a shoot out… This was almost exactly like the Giants game last year… They won that game 17-7… Why Daniel Jones without nabers and Giants missed 2 kicks. Bottom line the Bengals offense can only dominate when Chase and higgins are matchup nightmares… Taylor has proven time and time again he needs the rest of the team to win games for him as he cannot close with all of that talent. 7 Yards in second half is something Matt Patricia OC and a Backup QB would get not Burrow and a healthy offense that is loaded. All last year they won games because the Other QB sucked and could not execute down the stretch to win the game… 10 Bad QB that they went8-2 against… (Daniel Jones, Dalton, Minshew, Levis, Watson, DTR, Brissett, Rush and Russell Wilson Twice) Dalton Gifted a pick mid way through 4th down 10 and instead of making it a 1 score game crapped his pants. Down 21 Burrow Pick 6 then 3 and out Minshew on the move about to make it a 1 score game and Trey shuts the door on a backup qb… Burrow 3 TO day against Titans but Levis and the Titan have a 5 TO day… DTR and the browns had so many Red Zone TOs but lets be real DTR is bad… Lost To Brissett… Split with Russell… In loss bengals had the ball down 6 after a blocked kick… They could have taken a lead and capitalized on the momentum, but did not… Needed a lucky special teams play where they got their punt blocked and somehow recovered it to barely beat a backup QB in Dallas… Scored 14 points against Browns and KR TD was the difference in the game. They needed 3 Possessions in OT to beat Nix for their only other win… I ask in any of those wins where did the Offense win those games for them going away… When did they win a game where the defense struggled??? When this offense struggles against the Browns everyone says the Browns defense is good and they get a pass… Yet When the Bengals Defense struggles against Lamar they all just throw the defense under the bus and say they stink when it is 2 time MVP Lamar Jackson on the other side… Offense has all the talent and somehow gets all the excuses…. 0-6 when the opposing team scores 30 or more points… If Browns win that game do we all agree Taylor Is on the hot seat. 7 yards… Come on….

  38. Cleveland always plays divisional opponents tough at home. Burrow had never won there until last year. Steelers and Ravens both lost in Cleveland last year. Ravens are 1-3 last four trips to Cleveland. Browns have a very tough defense especially the front 4. I pencil in a loss for the Bengals in Cleveland every year. No apologies for getting a win no matter how ugly. WHO DEY!

  39. The forgettable bald guy patriots fan is exactly who people talk about when they say they can’t stand traditional media talking heads, the guy is a joke. Talked all off season about how their defense is gonna give up 40 and how the offense is a light show…. Bengals fans knew week one on the road in Cleveland is about as hard a matchup as they could conjure up, and we still won. I don’t care if joe threw for 10 yds, the defense looked incredible compared to last year and Flacco was playing some good football, he will surprise teams this month before he inevitably gets dinged and they bring in the rookies. The true version of this team will be revealed this week against Jacksonville, I expect the Bengals to win 31-17 in a game that doesn’t even really feel that close
