No purchase necessary. Exclusive masters tournament ends October 31st, 2025. On today’s show, we had ourselves our handful of rally killers tonight. Right. Right. There we go. Yeah. So, that was pretty cool to see. Brady Singer was awesome tonight as well. And I’m going to end the show tonight with a tribute to Davy Johnson. As we know, unfortunately, he did pass today at the age of 82. All that and a whole lot more. And of course, I’m going to hear from you all, our everydayers. Let’s get started. This is what you’ll be talking about. So, at the moment, obviously, this probably looks like something where this game doesn’t matter in the big run, right? Looks like they’re pretty far out. They’re probably not going to make the postseason. And that’s the negative side of things. We’re just going to get that there. What I am going to celebrate is that man, that clubhouse needed a win tonight. And I think us as fans needed a win today too after how frustrating mid middle August to September has been. Uh to see them get that win against a really good team to clinch the season. Well, no, they have to win tomorrow, but not have a the lead on the season series against the Mets if somehow some miracle happens where they come to a tie. Um that’s in benefit of the Reds as well. But to see them kind of get this win, especially after such a frustrating loss yesterday, which I feel like yesterday was definitely a much win game, must win game as well. Um, was really nice. And now we’re looking at a situation where tonight it’s not lost on me the irony that Terry Francona has a sick day and the Reds get uh get some rally killers today, folks. And what I mean by that is the Reds live by the long ball. That’s right. Not one, not two, but three home runs as a team tonight, leading the Reds to victory. As a matter of fact, three of their six hits tonight were home runs. Matter of fact, their first three hits of the night were home runs. And so it was a big day for the Red Legs to put some put some put the ball over the over the wall and much needed as well. So obviously it starts off Sal Stewart first big league home run just brings all this energy. looks like the ultimate warrior running the bases. Just all fired up. Love to see it. That kid inject his energy into my veins every day of the week because that dude is not is just the man. I’m I’m a believer. I’m a big fan. One for three tonight, two RBI’s on his first career big league homer. I have to imagine since the ball went like was at the batter’s eye, he got that ball back. I think Diane asked about that if he got it back. Um, hey Diane, it’s good to see you. Um, but uh, now we’re kind of looking at, you know, hopefully he got that back. I imagine he did and I imagine that’s was really special. I thought it was so cool. I don’t know how long his parents are staying in Cincinnati, but it’s awesome that not only were they here for his first game where they got his first big league hit, but so happened to be in the stands for his first big league home run, too. Um, that was awesome. Branch says Sal Stewart is the perfect male specimen. That’s pretty funny. Um, so, uh, pretty awesome there as well. And then after Sha Stewart goes tanks, next at bat for the Reds, next outing for the Reds, Matt Mlan. This September rebirth of Matt Mlan. God, let’s hope he carries into 2026 because it’s been so awesome to see him find his swing again. I mean, just total game changer for this team and he’s good. Uh he’s on the verge of I mean he’s probably not going to get it but he’s not too far away from a 2020 season. Uh 14 homers, 16 still in bases. It’s going to take a lot with so little games left but you know making a run. Last seven for Matt Mlan 429 556 952 slugging. Last 15 for Matt Mlan 317 408 585 slugging. And last 30 games for Matt Mlan 266 333 on base 404 slugging. So, three homers in his last seven games. Some he’s finding something again. I think the bat speed’s definitely coming back. Um, you can definitely tell that he’s kind of feeling comfortable again. And so, that’s been really nice to see. And then Austin Hayes just hits a mammoth shot. I mean, it was one of those ones that as soon as it left the bat, you knew uh with his home run as well. So, big time to see the Reds hit three homers tonight. Kill some rallies on the way to a win. um driving the offense with power was something we haven’t seen very much this year. They break a tie with the Rockies tonight. They’re for now that now they have the eighth least home run of teams hit homers hit by a team this year, not the seventh with the Colorado Rockies who also play in How do those two teams of all teams not hit homers between the Red Stadium and the Rockies being in the altitude? Whatever. That’s time for another show. Um, the other beauty thing is they only had three runners in scoring position tonight and they didn’t really matter because they hit homers. Uh, they only left four on base tonight because they were hitting homers. So, awesome day for the Reds to get that win. Obviously comes a long way and I understand it’s against a guy Jonah Tong who just making his second career big league start. You have a guy from the Mets making his big league debut tomorrow again. Uh, so hopefully you can keep these vibes going and kind of take advantage of it. Um, huge. Huge. I don’t know if it’s going to mean anything in the long run, but the fact that they got it, I mean, it certainly feels better to come on here and talk about a win than it does a loss. So, big day for the Red Legs there as well. Also, you know who had a big day today? Brady Singer just keeps on going. We’re talk about Brady’s outing and more right after this. Um, and very grateful for you guys for everything you do to give me the best days, even on the worst Fred’s games. Let’s get to the turning point in tonight’s bread, today’s performance. Time to reveal where the game was won or lost. It’s the turning point. Shall we give some love to Matt Mlan tonight, people? Matt Mlan going yardo, making it feel like the Reds may just have a chance to put that one away. And the Mets make a little run at it, don’t get me wrong, but the Reds taking care of business. Um, so big night for Matt Mlan. Super proud of him. Super excited for him and what he’s been turning around of late. Homer tonight, two walks big time. Um, you know what was also awesome tonight? Pretty Singer. How many times do you think we’ve come on here and said, “Man, Pretty Singer was awesome tonight.” I feel like it’s been since the All-Star break. I don’t know if I’m trying to think the last time he had a bad start. It’s been a while. Uh I’m looking at the game logs right now just to make sure I didn’t miss one in there. Um but obviously for him as far as being the back end of the rotation guy, he’s great, right? I mean, you look more and more at this trade. I look today, Jonathan Indy’s got a 666 OPS and he’s not playing anywhere near as much as he should be. Um or maybe maybe he is playing as much as he should. I don’t I’m not watching Royals games every day. Um, but to see him see what Brady Singer’s giving them, that trade looks better and better for the Reds by the start and we’re now in September and we’re still having the same conversation about how good he’s looked and what he’s brought to this team. Um, it’s been super awesome. So, he ended August with a 241 RA on the month and obviously off to a 1.5 year start here. um been really nice to see and also with him just kind of that consistency. Like tonight wasn’t his best night stuff-wise. He had four walks um but still kind of finding ways to get some big outs and keeping the Reds afloat and making sure the Mets who are super powerful obviously we know the millions and millions of dollars in the top three of the order um they were able to keep them off the off the scoreboard for a while. Uh was really nice to see. So really awesome for him. Um Scott Barlo comes in, does give up a solo shot, gets to the inning. You know, nice bounce back after the homer. Tony Santion, you can see Santon Pagan are starting to the the usage is starting to catch up to them now. They still go through the innings. You know, I know Pagan does give up a run, but Santon gets two strikeouts, Pagan gets three. Um they do give up four hits combined between the two of them. Um but you know, the 5ks are huge. Everyone who was there tonight got not only the Marty Bamman statue unveiling not only the Christian and Kronos Strand bobblehead. He’ll be seeing those at some thrift shops pretty soon but free pizza from the roasts. You’re welcome everybody. Pretty awesome day to be at the ballpark and obviously can’t wait to see what Singer does next year too. uh because he has been really kind of just such a nice like I’m trying to figure out the best word consistency. Um just kind of settling for the Reds, making sure that things don’t get too bad if they’re in situations like the where they’re on a little bit of a losing streak. He takes the ball and he gives him a chance to win every day, every time he’s out there. So, I’m very excited about Brady Singer. I think the Reds have two more years of him and obviously I mean this starting rotation deserves to be in the playoffs. It’s not going to be this year more than likely. Um, but you know, if the powers that be actually do something for once to improve this team, I don’t think anyone’s going to want to see this rotation in the postseason in 26 either. With that in mind, Brady Singer being excellent today. I feel like he earned the right to be our locked on player of the game. This is the locked on player of the game. Congrats to Brady Singer on yet another locked on player of the game. So, news came out today that former manager David Johnson passed at 82. It’s not lost on me the irony that the day of his passing, two of the teams he managed are playing each other that weekend. I don’t know if that’s the baseball gods doing that in tribute. I don’t know what it is. It just the way it worked out was pretty weird, honestly. But for those who are my age, so I’m 36, I was one in 90. Don’t remember anything about it. So really, in my lifetime as a Reds fan, Davy Johnson managed the most successful team of my lifetime, the 95 team that went up to the NLCS. And who knows what the 94 team does. I mean, the 94 team was pretty great, too. Um, but for him to kind of I feel like his Red’s legacy is slightly underrated just because he’s only he only managed the team for three years and one of those years was him taking over for Tony Perez after 40 games I think it was something crazy like that and had to kind of figure out to write the ship. He has an MVP shortstop, uh, has multiple all-stars, and you could tell that those group of dudes, like I was six watching those guys play, and you could tell how much they love playing together. And, um, obviously having him at the helm was really great. And I think one of the things that really jumped out to me today was, uh, our man Sullie from Locked on MLB in the locked on group text today said something where he said, “I feel like Davy Johnson has a great hall of fame case.” and I had to go look it up to make sure because obviously everyone remembers like his legacy will always be the 85 Mets, right? That is his legacy. Um, so there’s no way of getting around it, but that is who he is. But his Red’s legacy is the 95 team really right now because they’re the last team to have a to win a playoff round for the Reds. Uh, hopefully that changes one day, but I don’t think that’s going to take away from his legacy with the team. But four losing seasons in his 17 years as a manager. Two of those he took over a team in the middle of the season. 86 Mets. Thank you, Booster. I appreciate it. So, two of those four seasons where he took over a team in the middle of the year. Well, or in the Red’s case, slightly early in the year. Um, so and then of course had Bryce Harper in Washington, had Cal Ripken for two years in Baltimore. the Mets run, the Reds run. I think he’s right. 13 to 17 years he was a winning manager. He’s got like a 540 career winning percentage. He’s got a World Series. He’s got two managers of the year. So, I wanted to feel like even though with because we’re this late in the year and even though the Red’s got a nice win tonight and there was a lot to talk, a lot of excitement, I felt like Davey kind of earned the right to get a little bit of a tribute with the segment tonight. So, thoughts and best wishes to Davey’s family. Hope he gets to go in Cooper Shell one day and his family get to enjoy it. Uh if only he could be the one that could see it as well. But the Red Legs do get a nice win tonight, six to three over the New York Mets. The Reds have six runs on six hits and no errors. The Mets have three runs and had nine hits and no errors. Your winning sing pitcher tonight is Brady Singer for his 13th win of the year. He’s now 13-9. And Jonah Tong gets his first loss of his big league career. He is now 1-1. And the Reds go for a chance to win the series tomorrow. And I have a feeling that not many people are going to be here for the postcast tomorrow. I wonder why. Hunter Green takes the hill for the Reds. He is five and four. The 2.7 RA. He’ll be going against Brandon Sprrot of the Mets making his big league debut. First pitch is at 140. I think we could have gotten by with tomorrow being an 11 o’clock game. Let’s be honest. Week one of the NFL, first Sunday of the NFL season. We could have gotten by with it instead of playing head-to-head with all the NFL games. But whatever, you know, I’ll be here. You know, I’ll get my job done. You know how much I appreciate you all. Thank you so much for spending some time with me this Saturday night. Go Red Legs. If they’re not going to make the playoffs, let’s go down putting up a hell of a fight. Let’s win this series tomorrow. Take it easy, everyone.
The Cincinnati Reds defeated the New York Mets 6-3 on Saturday night at Great American Ball Park. The offense was powered by home runs from Sal Stewart, who hit his first career big league homer, along with Matt McLain and Austin Hays. Brady Singer turned in an excellent outing, going six strong innings while allowing just one earned run. The Reds will look to secure the series win on Sunday and continue fighting to keep their slim postseason hopes alive.

Hello Tim. Good win. Sal and Matt and Austin. HR. Singer did good, relief, good enough!!!
Why don't we Will Benson ever get to play what are they discriminating against him???????
I Will BE HERE They WILL MAKE PLAYOFFS
This season is done. Two main reason why the Reds aren't making the playoffs are Elly De La Cruz and Matt McClain.
