Scott Harris on the aggressiveness of the Tigers baserunning: “I think of baserunning as another version of power, does Ding get a single or a double? He gets a single. My question is who cares? He’s on second, Wenceel is on third … functionally our team is in the same spot if he hit a double”

Of course we are about the lowest in thd league in stolen base attempts ..
I’m just happy its not a Cure Auto commercial “interview”
That’s confusing to me. 2nd and 3rd > 1st and 3rd. Or is there a new stat that would make this not true?
Where can I find the entire conversation? TIA
Maybe I’m just easily convinced, but I loved pretty much everything Scott says in this interview. You don’t have to agree with every move they make, but it’s clear they have a plan, they do a ton of research, and they can get more out of guys than other teams can. I trust he’s got the ship going in the right direction for the long haul.
I’m pretty convinced that the main reason the Tigers are where they are is because of baserunning. Going first to third all the time is fantastic. Sometimes it doesn’t work, but forcing an outfielder to make a throw, most of the time it’ll be off base. Put the pressure on.
