Smith and Celebrini Take Batting Practice

Well, no offense, Mac. Can I start with the American with some some baseball background here? Will, you look great out there. Um, both of you, I understand, wanted to do this. You wanted to partake. Why did you want to do this? We talked about it for the for the past year, so I think, um, we went to a couple Warriors games. Um, and we wanted to come to a Giants, and doing this was a plus, so we were pretty stoked. [Music] So, I mean, you know, none of these baseball players could skate, but you can get out here and swing a bat and look pretty darn good. I didn’t know you were a lefty, by the way. Yeah, I mean, I think it just goes with playing left in hockey, too. Did you feel comfortable out there? Uh, not at the start. I mean, a little bit later, but just shows you how hard that is. Will walked in, he said, you know, all that’s in the cameras, there’s a lot of people around and I’m a little nervous, and I don’t blame him. It’s not easy to do. Now, he played I was impressed with him. His first swing was a line drive to right field. Won the fly ball, won the pole swing, line drive. So, I can see that he played and Mack by the last round he was hitting the ball pretty good. So, he can make adjustments. Great athlete. I was impressed with him the way he finished. What’s the level of respect? And I know you’ve got a baseball background actually. Could you explain that first? It’s on your mom’s side, right? Yeah, it’s on my mom’s side. Her uh my great great-grandfather owned the White Socks. So, um, yeah, just coming from that, it’s pretty cool. And I actually haven’t been on been on the field at a big league field, so it’s pretty cool. And again, not like you needed a new respect for baseball players, but even taking BP and realizing the balls don’t go as far as they do when a big leaker hits it, right? No, they don’t. I think a good one, too, Patl. We were getting those pitches coming at like 60 mph, so can’t imagine them coming 100, right? Mac, you had one, I think, off off the wall out there. You asked if it was a home run. I just got I think over the wall, but I mean to actually make that contact tactic, you had you had some some solid hits today. Thanks. Yeah, I appreciate it. Yeah. Did Did it feel like that? Uh yeah. No, I felt like I got a hold of a couple, but trying to get it over the the fence and couldn’t do it. This guy’s had a pretty good summer. Did you see his hole in one, by the way? Uh I think everybody saw it. Yeah, they’ve pretty known. You did it, right? You You went out there and and tried something new. Would you Would you try anything else? Would you try I mean basketball? You probably done. Would you try anything else? Yeah. Anything. Open to some ideas. You got some fromie. Oh, okay. All right. Be a good one. Maybe a field goal attempt. All right. We’ll uh we’ll shout out the 49ers and see if they’re next. All right, boys. Thank you so much.
