Clubbie + Bat Boy For The Washington Nationals | Day In The Life

C.J. Abrams bat. Yeah, it’s orange. I’m going to give the top five of what everybody likes to eat. Hi, I’m Alex. I’m Calvin. And I’m Joe. Get ready to set up the dugout with us. First thing that comes out is the bats for the batting cage. So, players have bats here and in the dugout. So, these are pitcher bags. These balls are pre-mutdded. so pitchers can throw them and it’s the same type of ball that they’ll be using in the game. Then these balls I’ll put out as well. These are uh batting practice balls. They’re not pre-mutdded. You’re only hitting with them, so they don’t need to be mudded cuz nobody’s throwing them. [Music] These are helmets, so we can take these out to the dugout. Now, um, every helmet usually has the players gloves and, uh, thumb guards or sliding mitts. So, besides just the helmet, they have all the little accessories that they wear while they’re hitting. Uh, so each player’s cubby is numbered with their number, obviously. So, you just base it off the helmet. So, here we have 55. And it goes right here. And it goes upside down just so they can grab their gloves out easier when they’re coming to grab their stuff before they’re I bet. That’s it for this stuff. Do that next. [Music] At least 20. Depends. If there’s like a rain delay or things like that, you have to come back and get stuff out of here if it’s uh in the way. So, these are all the game bats everybody uses. So, uh at the end of the game, somebody takes all these bats out of each cubby and puts them in here to store overnight. And then every morning, I come and uh get the bats and put them back in their uh correct spot. So, for instance, CJ Abrams bat says his name, so it’s easy to find that and put in a slot. Some guys will have their number or uh like a logo like CJ on at the bottom of the bat. So, you can tell by that and you just put it in their slot here. Wherever their cubby is, where their helmet is, you just put the bats in one of those spots here. Yeah. Eventually, you get the you get familiarize yourself with the bats, so you’ll know which ones they go to without even looking. Harley. All right. Here’s throwing balls for the game. So throughout the game, these are throwing balls that stay in the dugout for guys to throw on deck bags. So it has your bat weights. They’ll spray this on the bat for extra grip or use one of these for extra grip as well on the bat. And then here’s the bat weights. And then also more pine tar grip to go on the handle of the bat. [Music] [Music] [Music] And then lastly, these will go in the uh dugout for uh the on deck bat weights as well for guys to swing right before they uh have their bat. This is the water cooler. Just going to put that right there. One, two, three. Hey, sweetheart. Hey, what’s up, dog? Oh, yes. We like to put the water on the left side. All right, flip it around. Make sure this side is pointing out so the water can come out. And next up is the Gatorade. Yes. See what color it is today. I think it’s orange. Yeah, it’s orange. So, every time the team wins, they keep the same color Gatorade. Okay. Is there a color that’s like historically been a good color? I’d say purple. There we go. Next up, we have towels. Yes. So, we have two sets of everything. So, first the towels on one side of the dugout on the other side. And then you’ll see with the seeds and the gum as well. We’re very superstitious, so we like to put the towels on this line right here and then make them look neat for the game. This goes on this line as well. Yep. Hi. Hi. Hey. Good morning. Morning. Next up, we’ll take this cart all the way back to the training room. Yeah. So, we split up our duties. So, usually I’ll do the gum. So, make sure that we get two sugar-free and then two a mixture of four fun flavors. So, that goes on both sides of the towels as well. And then Alex does the seeds. And then we Joe does the coffee. I do the coffee and the Gatorade cups as well. A big coffee drinker. I would say the the coaches. The coaches. Miguel, Cairo, Henry, Blanco. While Alex sets up the seeds and make sure that we have all the flavors. I take out the coffee and the gum and they go in specific areas as well. So the coffee goes right here the setup. So we have our creamers, sugars, stirs, and then we make the coffee later and put it right next to it. And then the gum goes along this line here because it fits the seeds right here. We keep that same order of towels, seeds, and then gum. Then I just grab Gatorade cups for the Gatorade. And then we stack them in a certain order as well. I’m going to give the top five of what everybody likes to eat. So, number one, we have original. Number two, I’d say kettle roast. Number three, I’d say pumpkin. Uh, number four, I would probably say bacon ranch. And number five, I would probably say I’d say sweet side chili. Not a lot of guys are big on the salt and pepper and the barbecue. What I like to do is I like to put a lot of original in here. And then I’ll put three of every other flavor. So, three kettle roast, three salt and pepper, three sweet Thai chili, and then if I run out, I’ll just go to the other side and do three pumpkin, three barbecue. How many packs of seeds do you think you go through like a game? I’d say like half like majority of this side would be gone. And then I’d say half of these seeds would be gone as well. And then I’ll do one more original cuz everybody loves original. Next we take it out to the field. So what I like to do is I like to put the more popular flavors right in this little section right here. And then I like to put the least popular right in here. And that’s what we do for our seeds. Any guys bring any other fun snacks or like other any other weird food requests? They like to bring chips. They like to goldfish, uh dried fruit. A lot of guys like uh pretzels, honey stinger bars. Like we have like a bunch of stuff in the dugout during the games. What’s the weirdest snack you’ve ever seen? Gummy bears. This stuff we use to clean shoes after BP. And then these are the cups for the water and the Gatorade. What’s up, Mitch? How are you doing, brother? Good. How are you? Great. I’ll fill you in. So, one full sleeve will go right here for extras during the game. And then we open up the other one. We put them right in between. A bigger stack and then a medium stack and then a smaller stack. And then we will organize it. So it looks kind of something like this. Just like routine superstitious. That’s it. And that’s pretty much it. Yeah, that’s pretty much it. Now everything’s all set up for the game. Thanks for voting along.
