  1. That might be it for me on the season. I usually don’t miss a game, but I value time with my family more than this shit.

  2. I mean it’s over, this team is just so lifeless

It’s a cursed season, no other way to describe it

Hopefully wholesale changes are made in the offseason and can luck into a high draft pick

  3. This was my “last stage of grief” stage for this season. I’ve now accepted we are not doing anything in the playoffs with this team this year.

  4. Ready for the season to be over. This team is in a playoff race and they have players jogging around the bases. That’s not winning baseball

  5. Season is over fellas, really no other way around it. They gave it an amazing effort but you simply cannot overcome the amount of injuries they have suffered and remain competitive.

Blue jays are just really damn good and this team just isn’t.

  6. As I said in the GDT, there’s a reason why Abreu hasn’t been named the closer and we went out and signed Hader, and this is the reason why. A 10% walk rate will not play in the closer role.

Also, Altuve, dude, wtf was that? That would’ve been an inning ending groundout. You need a break my guy.

Unfortunately, I think we’re getting into the stretch of games where injuries are going to seriously fuck us. We win this game with Hader, simple as.

Buckle up guys, it’s gonna be rough

  7. This is not a playoff team: we’re too injury-ridden, we make too many mistakes, we can’t hit with RISP, and we can’t close games.

Fire the hitting coaches, fire Kawamura, fire (and honestly consider suing) the medical staff, give Framber his flowers out of town, and consider trading Walker.

Heads need to fucking roll this offseason.

  8. Fucking waste of time. And we’re another pitcher down.

Mariners can take the division. I don’t care about this fucking season.

  9. Abreu clearly isn’t closer material. He was a solid 8th inning guy but unfortunately too shaky in the closer role. Anyone can complain about not scoring enough, but he still had a two run lead starting a clean inning. He simply blew it.

  10. Just unreal. Can’t move a runner in extras because of incompetent baserunning and no ability to hit situationally. Closer refuses to throw strikes and issues 2 free passes in the 9th. Honestly, if they can’t win the remaining 2 games in Toronto and take at least 2 of 3 against the Braves, by the time we get Texas and Seattle back to back the Astros just might be finished. They need to win every series and start acting like they need to win every series. No one seems to care.

  11. So, this is a collapse, right? We’re watching the Astros lose the division and get booted from the playoffs. We are, aren’t we?

  12. Who actually wants to see this team in the playoffs right now? Do you even watch the rest of this season?

  13. Seattle and the rangers are both winning.

We have series against both of them. We are about to be buried.

  14. Feels like the team has been held together with duct tape all season and that was never sustainable

  15. I have no words except I think the injuries have just officially hit critical mass. We win this game with Josh Hader.

Hard to be optimistic with another pitcher injured. Boys have 17 games left

  16. I feel like Abreu had good numbers in the 8th because any time he got in serious trouble they’d bring in Hader for a 4 out save. Don’t have that luxury now. I think Kimbrel probably has to be the closer from here on and move Abreu to the 8th inning role again

  17. 162 games is a long season and a team is going to have ups and downs, but this team is cooked. There’s nothing in the tank. Pitching staff is decimated and the batters can only hit when the bases are empty. 11 hits for 3 runs, 2 of which came on a home run (so 9 hits for 1 run) is just plain embarrassing. Seeing this team play in the wild card round and get destroyed would be the final punishment and embarrassment.

  18. This game has killed any hopes I had for this team. I’ll still ride with the Astros but I think it’s time I stop watching and start doing more productive things with my time while listening to the radio broadcast

  19. Mariners and Rangers will both be winning tonight. I’m done with expectations for the season. Missing the playoffs would be completely welcome. Some serious change has been needed for a while but this organization won’t address the crap hitting. Our pitching staff is nothing but injuries and we are basically not feared anymore in the league.

  20. I think after tonight I’ve lost hope. I don’t think this team makes it to playoffs. They’ll be out of 1st and 2nd in no time. At this point don’t even brink Paredes back. Just focus on next season and focus on finding out what the hell is wrong with the training staff because that many injuries is not normal

  21. Who would have thought that in order for us to sweep the Dodgers, we’d have to sacrifice the rest of our season. We’re 23-32 since that series, and the injury list grows each time the team takes the field.
