I think Miller should replace Suarez as the closer

I’m I crazy for thinking this?

What a difference 24 hours makes huh. Suarez arguably won us a game yesterday given he pitched a clean 9th and got 2 crucial outs in the 10th contributing to not allow the Reds to bring home the manfred runner, yet Wandy gets the decision, so it doesn’t show up anywhere.
I don’t think you’re crazy, I do disagree, but I think that’s fine.
Not crazy, but also not strictly correct either. We have 2 closers, Suarez will be fine. Bobby Fastballs has been too good for too long to let a slump fuck him up permanently. He was just in Japan for crying out loud.
So you play them to matchups in the 8th and 9th or other super high leverage situations. It’s not about who’s better, it’s about who’s better against the 3 guys they are facing.
Not that it’s a big deal to switch them but wouldn’t Suarez have just blown it in the 8th?
Southbound Suarez might benefit from the occasional eighth inning swap with Miller. It’s a different game in the 8th, and Miller has shown the ability to pitch effectively in both setup and closer roles. This late in the season, however, I think it makes sense to use Miller in the closer’s spot out of necessity. We’re fortunate to have both of these guys. Miller was a great pickup imo.
If Suarez struggles with a set role in the ninth, how’s he going to do being used whenever he’s needed?
Why? Point the fingers at offense.

I don’t know this meme – what’s it referencing?
Mason Miller should be the go to closer. But (iirc) Suarez gave up runs last time he pitched in the 8th. Unfortunately, we have to accept Bobby loses us games from time to time but he’s solid for the most part. I kind of feel like this was on the bats tonight. Gotta get rallies going early.
Suarez gets very lucky sometimes when it’s tied and not a save. Usually, he gives up a homerun. The problem like most of the starters and some relievers is they get 2 quick outs, walk a guy, and then it unravels from there. Even more concerning is that every hitter on the other team uses the RF porch for cheap HRs, while our entire lineup just doesn’t.
I fully agree, nothing against saurez I’m just a miller glazer he is a demon
I don’t think there is anything wrong with Suarez. He just gets fastball crazy. He throws way too many fastballs in a row without showing them an off speed pitch. These guys are pros and will easily time that straight fastball no matter how hard Suarez throws.
shivering in my timber’s at the sight of true ball knowledge…

Miller has been good but not amazing. He homer rate is higher than Suarez’s and has gotten in some some jams walking too. This isn’t the game changing move you think it is. The staff is the staff.
It should be leverage and matchups. Today was the correct order, Miller faced the better hitters, and it didn’t work out.
Not crazy to suggest it, but there’s a reason you’re not a manager
our pitchers are pitching above their weight. our hitters are not even close to where they are supposed to be. Blame the people who deserve the blame.
