Twins vs. Angels Game Highlights (9/9/25) | MLB Highlights

Angels will try to even up this series at a game apiece against Minnesota. We said it off and it’s the beauty of baseball. You can forget about that game last night, go out there and perform at the highest level. Kyle Hendrix, the professor on the mound, hopefully put up some zeros to get some offense going and Zack De is certainly providing enough offense this season. Angels will try to beat the Twins for the first time this year and Hendrix coming off a couple of good outings on the last road trip in Houston allowed one run in six innings and Kansas City gave up two runs on three hits in six innings. So back to back quality starts for Hendrix. Here’s Byron Buxton leading off Jen Powell, the home plate umpire who has made history this year as the first female umpire in the major leagues series to third. That’s a rough night last night makes the play here and coming off the bag. No is saved. Came off the bag to catch it and the swipe tag on Buxton. It’s been a strange couple games for him. I don’t mind the bounce pass here, but the footwork is just not there. You still got to get your feet underneath you and fire that thing over. That was very nonchalant is a base hit for Buxton. Here comes Austin Martín, lots of like about his game here as the season winds down Buxton runs and Rivero’s throw no chance. And Buxton now with 22 stolen bases and he made that look easy. Yeah, that wasn’t even close. A great job Hendrick with the slide step still pretty slow to the plate. Add that to the velocity of that pitch. 79 miles an hour off the plate and Rivera had no chance. Martín bunt off the mound. It’s Hendrix and he’ll make the play on Martín out number one. So a sacrifice bunt there for Martín moves Buxton to third and here comes nick Angels with the infield in but nick goes after the changeup. Great change up back to back nasty changeup. He turned that one over. Perfect spot swinging miss. Here is Loke Khaw who was hit by a pitch by Hendrix earlier in the year and had a broken right forearm because of it. And here’s the delivery is popped in the air in the shallow right field coming in under making the catch on it. Chris Taylor and Hendrix pitches out of the first inning. Speedy Bucks in on at third base coming off. Two really nice starts on the home stand against the Padres and the White Sox 12 innings pitched three earned runs. Zack Netto with runners on 1st and 2nd. Nobody out. He’s the number three hitter. He’s got to be swinging for some RBS there. I don’t like that clearly. That’s on his own. I think on that one. That’s high ball four that is walk number one and that will load the bases, two outs, bases are still loaded here. Now, luis will be the punches one through and gets the runners home. Trout is in, mcada is in and Luis Rapo with two outs, gets the big hit Angels take a 20 lead. Ward took third on the play and now it’s Perazzo standing in there goes Rengifo throw to second base and trying to come home the runner from third Ward , he the ball got away. So Raito goes to third base and the Angels steal a run, a double steal on Ward and in anticipating that slider in the dirt, got the pitch to go on and just a little bit of a stumble but still as he went down into a slide to catch that throw, had a spin around and that’s tough on bang bang play at the plate and the Angels have a 3 to 0 lead Edward Julian as he bats to lead off the third inning. Quickly, Pereda hit it hard and that one was right back at Hendrix at second base and Buxton. Now two for two tonight, here’s Austin Martín hits one hard. Teodosio advances to second and that’s exactly what the Angels would like to see from Teodosio. It’s upstairs for ball. Four Trout on base for the third time as he draws walk two away.
