D-backs vs. Giants Game Highlights (9/9/25) | MLB Highlights

On the hill tonight for the Giants will be the veteran left-hander Robbie Ray. Ray 6’2 210 pounder at 33 years of age and he is in his 11th year at the big league level. This will be start number 30. He’s 10 and six on the year with a 331 RA. Lifetime against these Dbacks 2-0 with a 3.00 RA. T leads off against the lefty 287 and 25 home run. Got him. And that’s how this game gets started. Here’s Purdomo who took an 0 for five in the game last night. And Jerry Wall that put that one in the glass case somewhere. Four straight four seamers all in the zone and he spits on that curve ball down. Corbin batting 257. He’s got those 30 homers 0 for four in last night’s opener. Grounded past Ray toward the middle. Gloved right at second by Adam standing on the bag. to throw the first to double up the very fast Corbin Carroll. On the hill tonight for the Arizona Diamondbacks will be the veteran right-hander Zack Gallons. Gallon 30 years of age. He’s in his seventh year at the big league level. 6’2, 190 pounder, and this will be start number 30. Really has been redot his last three starts. He’s won them all. 266 with in his 17th last night. 61 runs batted in. Wow. A flinch. And that was a strike. That was a gift. Devil’s 31 home runs, 100 runs batted in. Three and two the count. There goes Ramos. The pitch is low. Came in with a change up on a three and two count and missed with it. And he has issued two walks in a row here to start the inning. Conference time at the mound. Zach’s compass is a little off here. He has made a remarkable late season course correction. put in a tremendous amount of work. The results have been speaking for themselves lately. 4-1 in his last seven starts over August and now into September with a 2.2 erra in those last seven starts. But a bumpy beginning to this one as Willie Adam steps in. Uh-oh. Did he twist it? It looked more like a twist. The back leg just collapsed. I don’t know if it’s a knee or an ankle, but he plants that left foot. And here comes Oh, off his leg. Okay, it was off his knee. I feel better. I mean, it’s always a bruise is better than a twist. Yeah. All right. Dodge a bullet. Drive left field out of here. And maybe the pain has completely gone away now for Willie Adams. A majestic threerun homer over the 354 marker out there in left field. And well back into the bleachers. And that’s the first hit of the night. Adamus with his 28th home run. Smith had a home run last night. He doesn’t have a hit against Gallon. He’s 0 for eight, but this is hit to center, but squaring up is Tawa and he puts it away. As third baseman Matt Chapman makes his way to the plate. First pitch, he swings, lines it softly to third and a little jumping catch made by Alexander will be out number two. Sure doesn’t look like a home run hitter. He is a fan favorite. Had a big night last night. Jung Hu Lee first pitch grounds it back to Gallon who knocks it down with his glove. Picks it up with a bare hand and throws to first in time. So the first three come up and score. The next three go down in order. Yeah, an ERA that’s good for top 10 in the National League, but he’s been getting a little wild lately. Swing and miss. Just the absolute definition of what a back foot slider is. You don’t want to throw a strike with this. Let that thing come in the inside corner and then crash out towards your back foot. Rosa is a switch hitter. He’s only had 46 at bats. Swung on and missed. Strike three. Stayed with that fast ball this time through the perfect one right on the inside corner and down. Here’s Marte. Opened up the game with a strike out. Hey, the whole family’s here. They are. And who’s the star of the show? Bod. Bod number one. Looked like he had four babysitters, didn’t he? It looks like he was very, very happy. The way he was surrounded, I don’t think Seal Team Six can get past him. Yeah, I’m going to arm wrestle that guy later. 3-2. Marte strikes out, swinging. Robbie Ray ends up striking out the side. See the moisture on the lens of the camera. I mean, it’s been drizzling tonight. It’s a great night for a hoodie. Two two pitch is called. Strike three. Got the high strike on a slider. Two down. Switch hitter batting right-handed. playing first base again tonight. Bill Dearo Vargas. That one is high and it clangs right off the mid of Bailey and rolls away. So that means Peromo goes to second. Bailey kind of just jogged over to the ball and Purdomo actually rounded second and thought about going for third. Bailey that is grounded to short. Adamus has it. Takes two shuffle steps and throws to first in time for the out. And after all that, no hits in the inning for the Diamondbacks. Here’s Chapman who lined out to third down the line. I don’t think anybody’s there. They’re not. Marosa has to dig it out and Chapman opens up the fourth for the double. And he waited well on that change up. That’s a runner in scoring position. That’s big extra run for the Giants. Still a long way to go in this game, but Giants are up three nothing. And up the middle is going to keep it on the infield and makes a nice play. to put runners at the corners. Now Schmidt digs in as that rain mist continues to fall. Schmidt hits a high fly ball way up there. Not that deep though right field. Carol coming in. He’ll catch Chapman is going to test him. Here comes the throw. Chapman slides. He’s saved. Wow. Chapman. That ball was not very deep. And Matt some very daring base running and that straight line home the foot first slide and he got to the plate ahead of the tag to score the run. It’s four nothing Giants. Robert’s throwing a lot of pitches here and going short in some of his starts lately. Diamondbacks can get right back in this ball game. Jordan drives it deep to left center way back and it’s off the base of the wall. Towers home. Jordan Lawler’s got the RBI double and he’s got the Diamondbacks on the board. And the Diamondbacks start to make some noise for the first time against Robbie Ray tonight. He has walked two. He’s struck out five, but he’s still allowed only three hits. And that is a shallow pop up to right. Lee’s got a good arm. He’s racing in. Lawler going to try and score anyways. The throw to the plate is not in time as that makes it a 4 to2 ball game. 4-2 lead for San Francisco. Here’s Bailey. hits one high, deep, and out of here. Back to back, he’s done it again. It’s 52. He really has turned himself around with the bat. And all Gallup is trying to do is flop a curveball over and steal a strike. And Bailey made him pay. Giants have now hit seven home runs in this series so far. They have been on an offensive tear. And there’s the pass ball right on the corner. Galland now with three strikeouts. And he passes Robbie Ray for third on the Diamondback’s all-time strikeout list. Back now with 999. Alexander ropes it into left. Two hits off Gage in the inning. Diamondback’s got something going. Two on and one out now for Vargas. Things have dried up a bit since earlier in the ball game when we were playing in a steady rain and missed. Yeah, that one’s through. Vargas with a base hit. Tim Bogar going to wave Purdomo. Here’s the throw from Ramos way up high and Jerry’s home. It’s five to three. Lays is in at third. Ilamaro Vargas at second and the Diamondbacks are back within two. 89 pitches to start the seventh. Here’s Casey Schmidt. And a diving stab in fair territory by Bla1 Alexander. And Gallon coming off a seven pitch six gets a one pitch out to start the seven. [Applause] Step and a dive. That’s about all a Blades had time to do right there. Fortunately gets the glove in about territory and makes that play. Boy, he has been a defensive standout everywhere you put him. Sure has been. It’s three and two on Bailey with Ramos the lead off hitter on deck. He lost Bailey. Just wouldn’t bite on those change ups. Let’s see if Tory Lavella wants Ramos to get a fourth look at Gallon. He’s got Curtis warming up at the bullpen. Here comes the skipper. And there it is. He’s going to go to Curtis. That’s it for Zack who couldn’t quite finish off the number nine man. Bailey’s been a problem for him tonight. Well, Doug Eddings is always in the middle of things. Zack Gall, as he was walking off the mound to come out of the game, was barking at Doug Eddings. Jeff Bannister as well from the dugout. Troy Lavell from the mound. Everybody was yelling at Doug Eddings as they change pitchers. It’s a 53 lead for the Giants. So Dbacks make it interesting. A bunch and they got him at third. And that was an easy play for Dominic Smith. Pop up. It’ll be an infield really. And just like that, the Dbacks are down to their final out. Two outs, but the right guy coming off swing and the ground ball to second. That the ball game. [Music]

  1. Oh my god boys!! We won the series & especially loved Willy Adames home run which helped us move 2 games behind the Mets wild card race!! We are getting closer!! We need to win two games straight & Mets need to lose two straight as well so we can be in it!! Let’s seriously hope we can get a SWEEP tomorrow 9/10 & hope Seymour seriously has it!! Can’t believe we are doing so well & hope we can get more wins since there’s only 17 games left of the season! I really hope we can make it in the postseason! 3. Eventually MLB and all its organizations should probably consider not mixing announcers to run rough shot highlights cause less than 1% of viewers are actually in favor of any MLB secondary narrative… Yea, it's that bad…
