For the Miami Marlins, it’s Yuri Perez listed as the starter while the Nationals will send out Jake Irvin for the start here. And Irvin’s been brutal in his last seven starts going back to the uh the beginning of August. He’s posted a 9.87 erra over that stretch. The uh the Nationals just not winning his starts. You know, they’re one and six in those seven outings. And we’re lucky to pack him up in that win against the Kansas City Royals. The only start they won back on August 13th. But uh yeah, just has not been a good run of form for Jake Irvin who over the last month has watched his erra rise a full run. Now the benefit for Irvin in this matchup is that he didn’t have to face the Marlins last time. These two teams faced off you know uh about this time last week and um you know he didn’t have to face he does have solid career numbers against the Miami Marlins. However, I still don’t trust him. We’ve seen Jake Irvin struggle against some lineups and you know he’s given up a ton of home runs. 10 home runs allowed in his last seven starts. So I think that you know Jake Irvin could get hit here by the Miami Marlins. But I also don’t trust Yuri Perez in this start. Last time out against the Marlins gave excuse me against Nationals gave up seven runs on eight hits a pair of home runs over four innings of work. Now, it’s worth noting that over the last six starts, the starts where Perez has mainly struggled have been on the road. But you’re facing the same team that just rocked you for seven runs and a pair of homers in your last start, even if it was on the road. The Nationals have started to pick up their play a little bit against right-handed pitching. You look at their numbers in the last two weeks, you know, just outside the top 10 in team OPS. The isolated power numbers are decent. The batting average is solid at 266. So, for me, I’m expecting there to be some runs in this game. I don’t I don’t trust this uh this Nationals bullpen either. Even though it does have a solid yard over the last two weeks, like I said, I still think, you know, their bullpen is still vulnerable. And the Miami Marlins have the second worst bullpen in baseball over the last two weeks at 7.86. So, I’m going to roll with the over here. I think, like I said, I think it’s going to be a high-scoring game. So, give me the over between the Marlins and the Nationals and that’s going to be my free pick.
