All right, it’s the first series of the season between the Red Sox and A’s. Boston took game one pretty easily, seven to zero. We’re still waiting on the outcome of game two on Tuesday. It’s not officially announced yet, but it is looking like rookie Ptoni will be taking the mound for Boston, making his third start on the season. In his debut just a couple weeks ago, he looked great. He allowed three hits, two runs through five and two/3 innings pitched against the Pirates. He actually very much went toe-to-toe with skins in that game, but he quickly came back down to earth in his next outing against Arizona. Diamondbacks lit him up a little bit. He gave up five runs and two homers in only three innings. Now throwing for the A’s, it’s going to be another rookie making his third start of the season. Mason Barnett. He had a rough couple first games allowing nine earned runs through nine total innings pitched coming against the Angels and the Rangers. I do worry for Barnett in this spot, especially being at home. That Sacramento ballpark is so small and the Boston lineup could the Boston lineup could potentially have a field day against him. They lit up Luis Morales in game one and Morales has been in great form recently. I think Ti’s looked a little bit better or frankly a lot better than Barnett has in his first couple games. Um and I think he learned a little bit there in game two against Arizona and he’s going to bounce back strong here in his third outing. So I’m going to roll with the Red Sox on the money line in this one and that’ll be my free pick in this game.
