  6. Early in the season when the pattern was Win/Loss/Win/Loss repeating, I and others joked about this team being 81-81. I’m not convinced we even win 3 more games to reach that 81 wins mark.

  8. Heart breaking loss last night in more ways than one. I know these guys have big hogs but maybe it’s gonna take more than big hogs to make the playoffs this year.

  10. Realistically, season is probably over. We just aren’t clicking in any facet of the game.

    I’m hopeful for next season though. We’ve just been riddled with injury this year.

  11. Christian Walker is a microcosm of the 2025 Astros. You expect great things (and occasionally get them), but they’re mid at best. He disappoints most of the time. Need to lower expectations drastically moving forward.

  12. I have no regrets in saying that the dynasty is likely finished. I’d like to see this team spend the next 3-5 years rebuilding the farm system and building the next generation of Astros baseball around Cam and Brice.

  13. Division lead is down to 1 game over the Mariners and 2.5 over the Rangers. This second half collapse has been astounding. They still have time to wake up but I’m not holding my breath.

  14. Watching Astros baseball is one of those things that I usually look forward to after work. Might be skipping this one, guys. Eh who am I kidding? I live for pain. See yall tonight.

  18. Still trying to figure out what happened to Hader. We need him back to close out these games. I wonder how many blown saves we have had since his departure.

  21. Never know with this team…might get solidly beat, might deliver a one-sided ass-whoopin’. Just how it is.

  22. This is where I’m at:

    I have always been on board with reasonable criticism of the team and even pessimistic outlooks on the future. 

    Now, I think doomer comments that I would usually see as whiny or cynical are more understandable. It’s been a brutal 2nd half. Some of those comments come from fans who started following in 2018 (which is perfectly fine) and that makes them even more understandable. 

    All of that being said, I’m looking at this team’s roster. I’m also shielding my eyes from the blinding light that is our IL. I’m looking at the players we have and what their baseline is. 

    This team has the capability to beat any playoff team in a 3 game, 5 game or 7 game series. There’s no doubt in my mind that this team can do it. Will they? I don’t fucking know. If you’ve poured your heart into the team all year and you’re frustrated, I get that. If you want to stop watching and only scoreboard watch, that’s respectable too. 

    I’ll still be watching when I can. I’ll still be looking forward from an optimistic stance. I remember truly terrible Astros teams and I know this isn’t one of them. If you’re just going to doom, once again, I get why you feel that way but let people root for the team. Let people have a positive outlook without calling them delusional or insulting them. 

    The whole point of this place is to have a safe and fun place for Astros fans to root for the Astros. We all get our fill of negativity on X and Facebook and r/baseball. This should be a place for Astros fans rooting for the Astros.

  24. I am brokenhearted about Luis Garcia’s injury. I wish him the best and hope it’s not as bad as it looked.

  25. i don’t know what the hell MIchael Brantley is up to these days, but we need to get him back and on our coaching staff somehow

  27. Being fully honest – I’m headed to NYC through Sunday. I’m checking out the next 5 games. I don’t have the heart to watch it. I’ll check in periodically on the line score – but at this point I feel like it’s imminent in a negative way
