Oilers News Update! | LTIR Investigation Closed | New Alternate Jersey | Rookie Roster & Schedule
Hello Oilers fans. Austin here with just some news to talk about regarding your Edmonton Oilers. Now none none of this is like super breaking news. None of this is earth shattering news, but it is news nonetheless. And until training camp opens and we start playing games, this is this is what we’re getting right now. Any anything that can be dripfed is going to be dripfed and I am going to make a video about it because one, I like making videos. Two, I think it’s important that fans are aware of what’s going on and things that are happening with the team. If you enjoyed today’s video, smash the like button. If you really like it, hit subscribe. If you’re not yet subscribed and let’s jump into it. Number one piece of business to talk about is the NHL confirming that the investigation of the Oilers LTI usage LTIR usage has closed. No punishment will be handed out. While obviously no punishment is going to be handed out. Well, that’s what most fans would say, but the Oilers, I made a video about how often they get punished for things that they shouldn’t be punished for. I am actually surprised that there is zero punishment being handed out. Cam Lewis wrote an article on Oilers Nation about this situation. Then Bill Daly was talking to Pierre Lebrun from The Athletic and Bill Daly said, “I would say we’ve closed the book on last season. Obviously, we’ve done this every year, right? We look into the situations of players who are going to finish the season on LTIR and who might become available early in the playoffs.” And Bill Dailyaly, you are lying through your teeth, my friend. You did not start doing that. You did not start scrutinizing teams that are utilizing LTI until the Oilers were doing it with Evander Kane. You let Vegas do it for years. You let Tampa do it for years. You let Chicago do it. You let Florida do. You let literally everyone do it over the past 10, 15 years or so. Edmonton does it once and now we’re closing the loophole. Now you’re going to come out and say, “Oh yeah, we’ve always we’ve always been paying attention. We we scrutinized everyone. We always have everyone under the microscope.” No, you don’t, Bill Daily. Come on now. Come on, Build Daily. You calm down, Build Daily. Now, the next piece of information I wanted to talk about is that the Oilers will be getting new alternate jerseys this season. Brendan Escott tweeted, “I can confirm reports from earlier this year that the Oilers will debut a new alternate uniform in 2025 2026. Not sure when we’ll see it in action, but I suspect fans will like what they see.” Of course, Oilers Nation tweeted about it. New Oilers uniform confirmed. We are all very excited about the possibility of a new Oilers uniform, a new jersey, and it does sound like this jersey is going to be different. It’s not going to be your typical just like Oilers jersey with maybe some of the colors reversed or whatever the situation is. It sounds like there’s going to be a new logo, potentially new color scheme, but again, it’s all rumors. No idea. It’s speculation. I want to know what your thoughts are on a new alternate jersey. What you would like to see from the Oilers do um what you would like to see the Oilers do moving forward with regards to uh their uniform. Because even though their like uniform is very classic, very historic, I like this uniform, right? But I do like that reverse retro. I liked the orange shoulders. I was also a big fan of the orange jersey that they wore in McDavid’s rookie season and the uh inaugural season at Rogers place where you had the blue shoulders. It was like a nice orange jersey color and then you had the numbers also on the shoulder as well. I liked those ones. The orange jerseys that they brought in a couple years later with the really dark navy shoulders. I absolutely hated those. I did a jersey tier list, by the way. If you missed out on that, I will leave a link in the description to that jersey tier list because I think it is it is uh you know kind of relevant in this situation. So, new jerseys confirmed. And then of course, I did want to talk about the Oilers rookie camp. It has been announced and the schedule has been announced as well. So, the Oilers rookie camp begins Wednesday, September 10th. So, for those watching today, September 9th, it is tomorrow for those of you who might be tuning in tomorrow, which would be September 10th. Time travel, we’re not getting into that. Anyways, so yeah, players reporting for medicals and fitness testing at Rogers tomorrow. And then Edmonton’s rookie roster features 25 players, 14 forwards, seven defenseman, and four goalenders. Attendees will include forward Isaac Howard, who was acquired from the Tampa Bay Lightning in July, as well as 2025 NHL draft selections Tommy Lavren, and David Loendowski. Other notable players attending the schedule include defenseman Bo Aki along with forwards Matt Seavoy and Quinn Hudson. Of course, Quinn Hudson is someone that they signed just before the playoffs out of college. And here is the full Oilers rookie camp roster. I will leave this here for you. You can pause the video. You can take a screenshot or you can just go to the Oilers website. They had the media release. So you can just click on the little folder that they have or file. It’ll open it up in a web browser for you. But there are some specific players that obviously we’re very much looking forward to seeing, especially once they start to play those showcase games against the Calgary Flames. For me personally, it’s Matt Seavoy. But I also I I have a thing about James Stefen. For some reason, this is a player, and if you’ve been following the channel since last year’s preseason, this is a player where I’ve been very intrigued by. I don’t think he’ll ever be an NHL player, but I do like the idea of this like seventh round pick or whatever he was picked, just finding a way to break through the the journey to get there. I also think it would be very interesting because his dad, Patrick Stefen, infamously missed that empty net in Edmonton in 2007 before Alish Hemsky went down the other end and tied the game late in the third. And then because of that, the snowball ripple effect, uh, the Chicago Blackhawks got Patrick Kane in the NHL draft. Crazy crazy situation. The the the the the butterfly effect when it comes to that sort of thing or domino effect, whatever you want to call it. In any case, I’m just kind of rambling. Now, that is today’s news update. Yes, it was very quick. Yes, it was very short and formal, but I did want to talk about that because until training camp opens, until Conor McDavid um, you know, signs his extension with the team, we’re just waiting for news on that right now. And in in in in the meantime, there’s other things we can talk about. Of course, the rookies is the number one thing that is going on at the moment. So, very excited about that. I will be doing a pregame report on Friday morning for the Oilers rookie showcase. The first pregame report of the season. Well, unofficial pregame report of the season. And uh yeah, I’m also thinking of doing a live stream, maybe watching it on Oilers Plus, doing a live stream, hanging out with all of you that want to tune in on Friday evening for that first game against the uh Calgary Flames rookies. So, if that’s something you want to see, smash the like button. Hit subscribe if you’re not yet subscribed. And as always, fight like a kid, fight like Ben. Let’s go, Oilers. Tell them that you love them. See, I switched it around this time. Normally, it’s telling us that you love them and then fight like a kid, fight like a Ben. Anyways, it’s fine. We’re having a good time today. We’ll see you soon, Oil Country. Take care. And of course, thank you to the current channel members, whether you’re VIP or locker room. Thank you to Christy, Nick, Justin, Canadian, Ginger, Charles, Epiphany, Matty Brinks. I’m just him. Hannah, Lola, Fleecyu, Danny, Hybrid Hunter, Hab 3436, Krux Deluxe, Wayne, Jacob, Hypnotized Mind, and Bubsy. We will all see you very, very soon. Thank you for your continued support. It means the world. Take care oil country.

I hope the new jersey is a black one ! Liked the black orange alt one !!
So lame they pick on certain teams with the LTR. Glad they dropped it.
I absolutely love their jersey and the retro look. I hope it doesn’t change too much. I’ll just keep wearing my retro jersey. Thank you very much ! 😅
the sound quality so good!!!!!
so SUS that out of all the past cup winners, Oilers are the ones to get investigated….even though while playing they weren't over the cap like Florida was… but Gary doesn't hate Canadian teams right?
You know it's a better day when Austin uploads a vid 💙 🧡
I think an "oil spill" jersey could be interesting. Have the logo change colors like oil does in the light. Probably has to be a dark jersey, though.
That would be like changing the Mona Lisa!! Don’t touch our jerseys!!!
What did we ever do wrong in the first place! Or maybe just piling on the hate once again for the Oil.
Chair providing brave support as usual
no alternate jersey can top Seattle's this year
Your old mic sounded better Austin, was much better quality. Your voice sounded natural, don’t like this audio at all.
Bring back the orange jersey!!
In Austin we trust 🫡
