It was so obvious Book took a back seat to KD out of respect for KD. And unfortunately it really hurt the team. Because Book has always been the engine that drives the team and KD in his best situations has always played off someone else being the engine, be it Steph or Westbrook. It could have fit so much better than it did, like we saw in the 2023 playoffs. But ultimately we sucked last year not because of Booker or KD. We sucked because we were 27th in Defensive Rating and 30th in rim protection. We fixed those problems with our new additions to the team. We are now young, Long, Athletic, Defensive focused, and Book will be Back to being the Engine driving the team forward. People are gonna be shocked when the suns make the playoffs, but no one should be because this is a playoff team we got.
Can't wait to see how Book performs this season. So much revisionist history.
