OMG Joel Embiid Might ACTUALLY Be Back! | Kelly Oubre Jr RESPONDS To Sixers Trade Rumors!

Ladies and gentlemen, the Sixers are doing it to us again. That is right. Put on your believer hat because we might officially be back. The Sixers just posted workout footage with Joel Embiid in it and you won’t believe what you just saw. Also, Kelly UB Jr. responds to the trade reports. All that and more coming up right here on Philly Take with RB. Welcome into the show, man. Unbelievable. I just got back from the Phillies game where the Phillies crushed the New York Mets. Kyle Schwarber hits his 50th home run of the season and the place is going nuts. My phone’s blowing up. I’m trying to put things on Twitter as people are sending them to me and it’s just one of those crazy nights. Why am I talking about the Phillies? Because the Phillies are actually beating the Mets and they are making me believe. Believe. That is the word of the night. It’s 11 something at night and I’m fired up. I’m juiced up because the Sixers are making me believe again. We’ll talk about that here in a few minutes. But we must start it off with the other big report of the night as Kelly Ubé Jr. has been involved in trade discussions. They have said Kelly Ubé, Andre Drummond, other players could be moved to make the space necessary to resign Quinton Grimes. And ladies and gentlemen, Sixers Nation CP put out a Instagram post today and it says on the trade block and Kelly Ubé Jr. just happened to come across it and he decided to leave a comment. Here’s what Kelly Ubé Jr. said in response to the trade rumors. Quote, “I love Philly, but the love doesn’t seem to be reciprocated. What happened to this place?” And for those saying I’m garbage because my three-point percentage went down. Still put up numbers and I’d still cook you. I played through finger surgery on my left hand, thumb, and pinky for three years. But still put my soul in this bleep. That’s one thing only God can take from me. Hope to see y’all soon. Godspeed. So, we’re either going to get a really mad Kelly Ubé or checked out Kelly Ubé. But either way, I feel like this guy’s coming out on a vengeance tour. And not to go too much on a tangent here because I want to talk about Joel Embiid, but why does everybody hate Kelly Ubé Jr.? I mean, over his couple of years here in Philly, I feel like he’s been pretty good when he’s on the floor. Now, he’s had a couple off the court things, right? Like driving the car and, you know, all that crazy story stuff that happened that we really don’t know know the truth about, but you know, before that accident or injury or whatever it was, he was playing really good. And still over the couple of years here, he’s averaged about 15 points a game. And no, his three-point percentage hasn’t been up to par, about 30%. But he’s been a overall solid offensive weapon and a defensive threat on the perimeter. And that’s really all you asked him to be as a role player. Last season is kind of just like erased out of my mind in terms of evaluating talent. You can’t evaluate anything from last year, but the year before you could definitely look at Kelly Ubé and say he had a couple really good stretches where he was a necessary role player. There were a couple times where we were like, man, talk about getting bang for your buck. That’s why they resigned him last off season. So, no, I don’t think he’s a superstar. I never expected him to be. And I think he’s in a good situation when he is surrounding the three stars or whoever’s on the floor. And I can’t be mad at Kelly Ubé and I don’t understand why people don’t like him that much and why this has to come to this point where he’s responding to the fans. But I believe in Kelly Ubé Jr. He’s responding to the trade rumors and it seems like he’s mad at Philly fans. So give me your thoughts on that down below. But ladies and gentlemen, we have to talk about Joel Embiid because here’s the first picture that was put out by the Sixers as they prepare for their post Labor Day workouts as they get ready for training camp and we get a picture of Joel Embiid. Now, keep in mind, right, for someone that may be tapping in here and they’re like, why are Sixer fans so hype about a picture? Well, we haven’t seen this guy for how many months? They keep saying re-evaluated. He’ll be re-evaluated. And we had that whole Joel Embiid interview thing this off seasonason and it pretty much sounded like he was checked out and he said, “I’m not going to get back on the floor till I’m ready, till I feel my body’s good.” And now they’re showing him in a workout and he’s actually on the floor rocking his Sixers gear. Now people are analyzing this, but then the Sixers put out a couple clips and these are the things that have people really, really excited. So, here is Joel Embiid in a Sixers workout. And yes, it is just a workout, but I want you to take a look at Embiid right here. He’s working on some post moves. People are saying he looks slim down. What do you think? Is he a little slimmer than normal? I don’t know. I feel like we say that every year. Most importantly, if we look at Joel Embiid right here, he does not have a knee brace on. Let me say that again. Joel Embiid does not have a knee brace on. Have we finally turned the corner? Is he finally getting healthier? I feel like if he was still that injured, he would be practicing with some kind of knee sleeve or knee brace on to protect it. And here he is out here looking like he’s in really good shape. Looking like he doesn’t have a knee brace on. Maybe we will see Joel Embiid in training camp. Maybe all will be healed with this franchise and maybe Joel Embiid will play 60 games or more this year. Am I going crazy here? Are they making me crazy? Well, here’s VJ Edgecomb. One thing I know for sure is he’s going to put in that work. Highflying VJ Edgecomb. I mean, you got to get fired up at some point. We need some kind of motivation. Here’s Paul George in the gym. Paul George is lifting weights. He had an arthroscopic knee surgery. They said he’d be evaluated, I think, after training camp, during training camp, whatever. Paul George lifting weights. Oh my gosh, we are back. Sixer Nation. They’re going to bring us back to life to break our hearts again. And we’re going to fall for it every single time. Ladies and gentlemen, could the Sixers actually do it? Could they actually go under the radar and be the underdogs and somehow someway fool us all and come back to being a competitive playoff team? I mean, look, I know we may be overreacting, but this is the first Joel Embiid footage that we have got in a year and a half pretty much that looks good, where he looks healthy. You think the Sixers admin didn’t know what they were doing when they put this video out? I’m kind of fired up now. Again, goes back to the term of the night. Believe. The Phillies somehow are starting to make me believe. The Sixers are somehow starting to make me believe again. And you know how it’s probably going to end with a blocked phone number, with a broken relationship, with heartbreak. But for now, maybe, just maybe, we can get back into the mix. Man, the Sixers do it to us every year. somehow they find a way to just reel us in and make us feel like things are going to be fine. Also, Josh Giddy receives a 4-year $100 million contract today with the Chicago Bulls. So, that is another restricted free agent down. Obviously, CA uh Cam Thomas signed the one-year qualifying offer. He wants to test his market next year. Josh Giddy went the other route. He said, “Okay, I’ll take my $25 million a year.” What does that tell me? Well, he’s a little bit younger than Grimes. He had a probably a better season than Grimes, and that means Grimes should not get over $20 million. Obviously, Grimes once more. Sixers are still using the leverage game, but now it’s down to Quinton Grimes and Jonathan Kaminga and Josh Giddy just reset the market. The Sixers are not going to want to go that high. We’ll see if Grimes is willing to agree to a lower salary or as I said on my last video, it’s starting to feel like they might just end up agreeing to the one-year qualifying offer and it might be best for both parties. Furcon Corkm earlier today said that Alpin Senon is the best center that he’s ever played with. Quote, “Until now I thought Joel Embiid was the best big man I played with, but it’s Alper and Senon defensively and offensively I think.” Well, first off, Furkcon, you just lost your Sixers credibility. Number two, maybe all it took was Furkcon Corkm making this type of quote for Joel Embiid to emerge from the shadows and be included in a Sixers workout video. Maybe Furkon just revived Joel Embiid, but you’re wrong. Joel Embiid is better than Alper and Singon. and the fact that you played one game in Turkey with Sangon and you made that statement, Furcon, you’re never welcome back here on the Sixers.   3. Oubre should be gone but the team does not have forward depth. They need players who can eat minutes because of PG's injury risk. But outside of that, he makes 8 million and has a little trade value. He can be traded to cut salary for flexibility or to match for a player.

    My issues are that he makes bad decisions on both ends, cant shoot the 3 well or score efficiently. He isnt a good on ball defender and makes some dumb fouls and plays. He gambles on steals and just gets beat around screens. He should not have a role more than 20-25 minutes off the bench.

    Even if kelly is traded to cut salary, im fine with rolling with PG, Justin edwards, Watford, Broome, jabari walker at the wing. Maybe run 3 guard lineups with grimes and edgecombe. Those guys all offer stuff the sixers need next to Embiid, maxey, mccain PG. Watford and broome give you size at the 4 with good passing and shot creation. Edwards is what Oubre should be. 3 level scorer who plays well off the ball and is a decent 3 point shooter. Id rather roll with him over oubre in general.

  8. Don't trade kelly Oubre it don't makes any sense. I wish the sixers get rid of Daryl Morey. Kelly Oubre were right what happen to this organization. I think Josh Harris should sell the team, it seem like the owner don't cares about his team then sell the damn team. Because the Washington Commaders & the sixers will never have nothing under Josh Harris & the GM of the sixers. The sixers needed to be in jail & to be fired & get the peoples in the front office. Daryl Morey is the problem of the sixers & they franchise. Daryl Morey is a bad GM & a man not to be trusted.

  15. RB – it’s about winning plays when it comes to Kelly. You can’t look at box score. Kelly would be great if he understood his role. Kelly will take the shot instead of passing to a player with a better shot. I like Kelly but he seems too concerned with points sometimes.

  20. I love Oubre too. People trippin over his 3 point shot. Such a solid role player and fit for this team. He's a dog too. He's also not scared to shoot, and goes off from time to time. He's been great as a starter when the team is healthy

He missed his first two years and when he came back he couldn’t stay healthy his whole career he never played all 82 games he might look like he’s back but he will get injured like he always does and he’s older he’s not going to get healthier his history says he will get injured and miss a lot of games and won’t be healthy for the playoffs like always this is not being negative it’s 10 years of facts
