  1. Really bad series. Had a chance to close the window this week even with just a single victory. Instead we reopened it to the Phillies and gave the Cubs a slight crack if they win tonight. Take care of business at home, but yikes getting swept is never good or fun especially in September.

  2. Literally, everything is going wrong all at once. Just in time for the playoff push. Perfect. I just want this team to do well. Uuuuuuugh.

  3. No two ways about it, that series sucked. This team looks terrible right now.

All that really matters to me though is keeping the division and going into the playoffs hot, so there’s no reason to panic yet. If they still look like this at the end of the season, then yeah it’s gonna be dire.

  4. We look like a AAA team right now. When will this toxic positivity thing end? When are we allowed to be pissed?

  5. Tough. Drinking summer shandy did not help with the win…. But it does help with this loss and the loss of summer.

  6. Copy and pasting my comment from the game thread to here:

Also, horrific babip luck all series. I’m not concerned.

We obviously want to be the 1 seed and finish strong. But if seedings hold in the NLWC, the 2 seed plays Dodgers in the NLDS while the 1 plays the Cubs.

We can beat the Cubs but the Dodgers are actually worse.

This is facts, not a cope (ok maybe it kinda is)

  7. The fact that this is the first time we’ve been swept since that opening series debacle against the Yankees is pretty incredible. Tip of the hat to the Rangers. Their mlb best pitching and fielding was on full display.

Enjoy the day off and get ready for the home stretch.

  8. The general consensus I’ve seen is that down the stretch, the team needs to stay healthy and just play .500 ball. And aside from the arm contusion on Contreras, they’ve done that on this road trip, but winning 3 and then losing 3 has gotta be the worst way to do it, especially when 2/3 of the losses were very winnable.

We were stuck in BABIP hell the whole series against a team who needed the wins a hell of a lot more than we did. I’ll only be really concerned if the same stuff happens this weekend, but we definitely have to step it up.

  9. 11 hits should win you a lot of games. Can’t have the rally killers. Play the best baseball going into the playoffs and we’ll forget all about it.

I’m not upset about today. I’m just going through the 7,654 ways we can lose in 3 weeks based on how today went.

  10. Pretty identical loss to last night. Outhit the Rangers and yet lose by multiple runs. This team’s offense is in trouble right now and they have to figure out how to score with RISP again.

Scored 3 damn runs today and 2 were due to solo shots to start the game. Won’t remotely be good enough in the playoffs.

  11. I know that after a series like this the prevailing mood on here is going to be utter doom and gloom. And getting swept sucks. But it’s like people completely forget what Baseball is like. Sometimes you lose games and series you should have won, and sometimes you win ones you deserved to lose. There were some examples of the latter during the winning streaks, and this is very much an example of the former. Brewers outhit the Rangers 28-19 this series. It wasn’t a case of getting outplayed, or of the team collapsing or anything. Normally when you outhit your opponents like this you win 1-2 games in the series. That didn’t happen. Freddie had a bad start, the umpire did too, the Rangers got their hits and baserunners all in the same innings while the Brewers spread them out. Shit happens.

It’s fine to be sad, angry, or upset about a loss or a sweep. But it doesn’t make the team dogshit, it doesn’t invalidate the fact that they’ve got the best record in Baseball, or change the fact that they’ll be going straight to the NLDS. Baseball isn’t a game measured in innings, games or even series. This is a good team, having a great season. They swept the series before this, they got swept here. Next series they’ll probably win at least once and lose at least once. So will the teams around them. Having some kind of perspective, and realizing that Baseball isn’t a game properly measured in innings, games, or even series, helps a lot.

  12. Well I’m in Green Bay having a local beer on a rooftop bar. Life could be worse. Go Packers!

  13. Bad luck series.

I blame Turang all the way. He just needs stop hitting the ball in the air and start soft grounders like he used too! /s

Seriously, they finally go home and get a day off. It’s been a serious run of away games with barely any time off.

With that. They’re still hitting. No issues there. Scoring runs. If they continue to hit the way they have it will happen.

It’s baseball, a damn frustrating game that I love.

Now go out and get this for Ueck!

  14. Oof. Anyone else feeling beat up this week? Need out of this little funk. Still leading I get it. I just know the Power of Friendship is stronger than what we’ve seen this week.

  15. IMO the theme of the past month for this team is pitching has regressed to its mean and offense has become more and more reliant on HRs for production. That’s the recipe for about a .500 team which is about what they’ve been.

Hope they can turn it around and get hot here just in time for October.

  16. That Rangers team is gonna be tough if they make it in. I could see them winning the whole thing with how they pitch and play D even without Eovaldi.

Gotta lock in now for the home stretch. 9 very winnable games coming up with the Phils right behind us now.

  17. We all had to expect torture up to the last day of the season. We aren’t the Dodgers. There will be drama up until we lose the top spot. The great news is how much the Crew has dominated over this stretch. It’s not over yet!

  18. Bruh can we please leave BABIP hell

I am crying into my old fashioned about how many line drives we hit right at fielders

  19. Ugggh. We’ve been spoiled by so much winning but this stretch is still tough. Gotta remember that with the success rate of baseball these stretches are built in. All they can do is keep batting and stay focused.

  20. The last couple weeks certainly show why a trade at the deadline was needed. Can’t dwell on it, I guess, but that decision is being felt right now.
