Is It Already Time for Miami Dolphins Fans to Hit the Panic Button?? | The Rich Eisen Show

What was your question that you had in your mind? So, do you think the Dolphins should be in panic mode? I mean, Monday was like a kick in the balls, you know what I mean? I mean, it should be a wakeup call at least. They’re not that bad. They have talent, but they don’t have a secondary or an offensive line. They can’t stop anybody. Sunday, you know, if you had to, you know, I had my power rankings, right? 1 through 32, uh, 1 through 10. If you if you went all the way down to 32, I would consider putting the Dolphins at 32nd based on their performance. Now, that’s just one week. Uh Mike McDaniel, who’s a friend of ours uh on this program, um basically when he was asked, is there anything positive? And he the positive thing he said that we we got embarrassed that maybe that will shake um a locker room or shake the um the insides of his team. Not that’s not the way you want to do that. But so, you know, thanks for the call, James. And hang in there. Please call back more often. Let’s let’s be there for you if you want to hear a voice actually like James person to person. Uh this was McDaniel today when talking about Tua who had multiple interceptions as we know. I think I saw a, you know, quarterback play that was less than to be desired, which Tua um absolutely knows, but that was he he’s the captain of the franchise quarterback and everybody um kind of fell victim to something similar. I also know that um he’s uh uh very very much um like a lot most quarterbacks to be honest uh where you’re um putting a lot of work into something and your first time doing it um for a collective four quarters um in months uh you’re not at your best. My biggest thing is I don’t want to make the same mistakes twice. I don’t want to have things happen uh for no reason or in vain. You make them purposeful by by um improving upon the things that you failed at and then making making sure that your teammates do the same. So um he’s comfortable with that comfortable with that. Um in terms of it, you know, we we need to be better collectively. Um he and everybody else needs to be better uh for us to get done what we want to get done. And I understand Dolphin fans, you know, Mike Mike’s style of speaking, um, you know, where he he took 60 seconds to say, “Guy stunk. He he can’t do that anymore. We got to be better.” But that’s just the way he talks. That’s his style of speaking. He’s a very um, you know, cerebral guy and spiritual as well. And I know when you don’t win, that comes across as unserious and it comes across as just just do it, man. I don’t want to hear it anymore. That’s that’s what happens when you lose 33 to8, which is a problem cuz he does have the abilities to coach and lead and figure stuff out. So, are they in panic mode? Is like I I mean, you have for sure. Yeah. Jeremy Fowler had a report today that teams have been calling about Tyreek Hill. They’re not going to give him up yet. They said no. Of course they say no. And that’s the whole thing is that it’s it’s it’s panic mode for fans. We’re waiting for week two to happen. It can’t come fast enough for this team, I imagine, because they want to wipe the taste of what happened out of their mouths and prove that they they they are better than this. And I I I understand. And he’s not going to sit there. He’s not going to sit there and say that was two one of two of his worst games. We’re paying him 50 something million a year. He can’t do that. He just can’t do this. He sort of said that which is, you know, but you can’t. But as a coach, you can’t just come out and say it, right? Like not everyone’s that Oregon State coach who basically said, you know, the punt game was effing terrible. You know, like you can’t do that in the NFL. You can’t do that. Like this guy’s being paid a mint and 33 to8 ain’t what you’re paying for. and he knows it, too. So, there come the New England Patriots who have their own reasons to go in and and and prove week one was an anomaly. And that’s a big division game. And the Dolphins have got to go home and and hold serve at home. You can’t lose division games at home. The Bears are going to feel that sting all week and maybe all season when they’re taking on the Vikings. You know, you you can’t lose division games at home. So, hold serve. two always does well against New England. If if that is the case again, then week one, we’re we’re not forgetting about it, but it it feels a hell of a lot better now that you’re one and one moving into that massive massive Thursday night game in Buffalo and then they win that one. You basically the Dolphins can look at this and say, “We are five days, we have a fiveday stretch next week that wipes all of week one out. Let’s do it. Now, as our caller said, the secondary, that was my concern coming in. I mean, they had they suffered injuries and then swapped out Jaylen Ramsey for for Ma Fitzpatrick. We’ll see, man. But this is a big game and they have a 5-day period where they can wipe it all out. And if not, then maybe panic mode sets in and Tyreek’s playing for a different team. Hey, you made it all the way to the end. Thanks for that. Check us out every single day streaming live on Disney Plus and the ESPN app 12 to 3 Eastern.

  1. "we can't have the same mistakes repeated" says the guy who can't get a play in on time to allow his Qb to adjust. Does stupid challenges and calls silly TOs because his verbiage is too long to allow for any kind of adjustments.

  2. During McDaniel's reign of error Miami is 2-10 vs plus 500 teams. Very often, in those losses, they have looked entirely unprepared, which is another way of saying out-coached. I've seen them lose these games when they play hard and when they don't. I've seen McDaniel develop very effective running strategies and then give up on the run. Under McDaniels the only semblance of consistency is their inconsistency. Enough. It's time for a full on purge that includes Grier.

  3. You can lose games. But you cant show up and be unprepared. If you lost the locker room, then you lost your job. So now the scapegoating begins. The only thing that cures all ills are wins.

  4. I’m a Fins fan. The truth is we haven’t beaten good teams in most of McDaniel’s tenure. I like the guy and I know he’s brilliant but perhaps he needs help managing this team.

I don’t want to advocate for someone’s job.

  5. Tomlin sounds like a badass for 20 years and never has a losing season and everyone every year says he's an underachiever and needs to be fired…. McDaniel has one decent year and sounds like a weird nerd and everyone calls him a guru, but has been terrible since and people still want to give him a chance after stumbling through the worst version of an excuse I've ever heard…. make it make sense…. How is Tomlin hated but this absolute weirdo still getting credit like he's going to turn it around as if he wasn't cringy from the start?…….
