Nationals vs. Marlins Game Highlights (9/10/25) | MLB Highlights
on the mouth for the Marlins tonight. Yuri Perez 17th start of the season. Nationals were selling out on his fast ball because he wasn’t able to get the secondary stuff over for strike. So we’ll watch for that tonight. Another 02 coming to CJ Abrams. This swung on and miss. Nice start for Yuri. Yeah, all fast balls to Abrams. That last one he got right by him. James Wood has a Nationals team leading 27 home runs. Swing and a miss. Good slider. Two up, two down, pair of strikeouts for Yuri. And another two- two is coming and he popped one in the air. Left side playable for A. Costa. How about a perfect top of the first inning for Yuri Perez. Jake Irvin hasn’t seen the fish this year, but he is 1 and0 with them and a 286 RA in four career starts. 3-2 swinging a miss on a pitch that was not as much of a strike as the previous one possibly was. Irvin strikeout number 105. Jacob Marcy the center fielder. He’s going to drive it the other way. He’s had a lively bat so far and the net solid defensively. Ly and left. Here’s the short stop onto Lopez. Swinging a ground ball to short. Abrams to his right has it. He plants and throws to a stretching Josh Bell who hauls it in and it is in fact a one, two, three inning for Jake Irvin. Three up and three down for both Yuri and Irvin to start the ball game tonight. Here’s Dalen Lyle. He swung on to miss. Good slider. Punched him out. They’ll complete the strikeout. Put out goes two to three. It’s already three strikeouts through four batters for Yuri. 02 pitch is cut on and missed. Another slider bearing down. Garcia swung over top of it. That’s four punch outs and five up, five down for Yuri to open the game. Struck him out with a fast ball at 100 mph and Yuri punches out the side here in the second. He’s got five early strikeouts in this one tonight. Two men away on three pitches and Roberto Hernandez is the batter, the designated hitter. 3-2. Oh, that’s right down the middle. See, the scattering report says you’re never going to get one. Right down the middle on three and two. The house h s h s h s h s h s h s h s h s h s h sitting at 245. Fast ball lined though, left center field. That’s a base hit into the gap and it will roll all the way to the wall splitting the outfielders. Left fielder. Mesa up with it as House chugs into second base with his 11th double of the year. And so he hit a rocket. Castle trying to drive home house who’s at second with one out. That’s a good baseball swing. Hassel a base hit out to center. reading at house. Now they’re going to send him and the Nets are going to score. I think the Marlins might have thought he was going to stop at third. Ricky Gutierrez surveyed the situation and he sent him home. Hassle RBI number 16. Hassles at second with two away here in the third as Wood swings and misses. For the second time tonight, the inning is over. A run on two hits and after two and a half, it’s one- nothing Washington. Joey Weame, he’s behind in the count. Nothing in two to begin the bottom of the third. Swing and a miss. Jake Irvin totally overmatching Joey Weamer there. Jake Irvin’s got some nice command going. Garcia to his left. Plenty of time. That is eight up, eight down, one and two. Swing and a miss. Tremendous command by Jake Irvin. Three outstanding innings. And Josh Bell, his second AB coming up. And the one two to Bell is cut on and miss. Good change up. Strikeout number seven for Perez. That’s a pitch I really want to see him develop. And I think we will. So quickly two out here in the fourth inning for Yuri who allowed a run on two hits in the third. It’s one- nothing Washington and that is yanked towards first. It’s off the glove of Johnston. Perez gets over to the bag at first. That’ll be a base hit for Luis Garcia Jr. Here’s Jorge Alfaro. One, two. That one hit well out to right pretty deep. We back onto the warning track. He’s got just enough room to make the catch of the bottom of the fourth. One- nothing Washington. Blue fly ball off the bat of Edwards. One away. There’s Jacob Marcy. One and two. And there’s that first base hit. Marcy able to get around it. There’s a lot to like about this young guy. He’s hitting over 320. Here’s Otto Lopez. Runner goes and the pitch is blooped into shallow right field. That’s going to fall for a base hit. Marcy never broke stride. He’ll stop at third. The runners at the corners. One man out. Big spot for Liam Hicks. Popped up on the infield first time. Runner holding and then adds trying to turn two. A flip, a relay, and they still get it done. It looked like Garcia thought for a moment about tagging the runner, and he made the wise choice. And Irvin survives his first spot of trouble. That’s an awesome shot. A very Berto at the plate. Nobody. One away. Two two. That one hammered left center field. Long run for Hassel and Lyall. Lyall lays out. He will not get there. And Hernandez pops into second base. He’s got a stand up double with one man gone. The home fifth. Hernandez at second. Joey Weame. Seeing Irving this one to dead center going back Hassel just enough room in front of the wall tagging for third. Hernandez and that one used up all 400 ft out there for a long second out. Runner to third. Two outs and Victor Mesa Jr. the hitter. Center fielders got to hurry. Hassles over there. No hassle for Jake Irvin. Good defense behind him. The Nets still by one. Two outs. Bases empty now for Josh Bell. Swinging a hard ground ball that’s past the diving second baseman Edwards and a base hit on a right field. Josh Bell barrels that one up for a two out single. Here’s Dalon Lyle swinging a line drive loop right side. It’s fair. It’s down the line headed toward the corner. Bell chugging around second heading for third. We trying to dig it out of the corner. Bell’s going to be waved in and the throw into Edwards. He’ll throw to the plate. Bell will slide and he’ll score and over to third with a triple is Dalen Lyall. The Nationals lead two to nothing. Lyle with his ninth triple of the year. Garcia base hit last time and Louise trying to give the Nats a three-run lead here. Garcia with an RBI hit. A two out stake for Lyall in for Garcia and the Nets do lead three nothing. That might be the last pitch we see from Yuri Perez. It’s going to sting a little bit cuz I’m sure Yuri wanted to get out of this sixth inning. He’s not going to get that chance. 46 appearances for Lake who bent but he did not break on Sunday when he saved that Marlins victory over the Phillies. Here’s Jorge Farro up the middle. busted bat pretty well placed and that’s a really good play but not able to swipe it and glove it as Johnston and that will send Garcia all the way around to third. Brady House now Brady House sends one to center. Marcy’s going back with room step shy of the track getting over. Nationals get two and they have a three nothing lead. Looked like another one pitch out for Jake Irvin and that ball just simply got by CJ. Here is Edwards and he slaps one into left field. That’s going to get down for a base hit. And the Marlins have a little something cooking here in the sixth. Much to the delight of his manager Clayton McCulla. So here is Marcy trying to put a dent into this Nationals three nothing lead here in the sixth. And Jacob swings and he grounds it through the right side. That’s a base hit. A Costa’s around third. He’s going to score. Edwards on his way to third. He’s safe there. An RBI single for Jacob Marcy. makes it three to one now here in the sixth. So first and third with nobody out. A run is home. The batter is Otto. He’s one for two. Past Irvin to second. Garcia applies the tag. Throw to first. Gets away and Jacob Marcy is standing at second base telling the Marlins dug out to take a look. He does not feel like Garcia ever tagged him. Regardless, a run is home. Now it’s three to two and we’ll see what happened out there near second. So I suppose the umpires would like to discuss what just happened out near second. Here’s a really good look at this. Did he tag him? I have a feeling that the umpires have overturned this without even going to New York. And Miguel Cairo is not happy with whatever the umpires have decided on. So Laz is pointing out at second and he has just indicated that Marcy is safe there. Washington is challenging a safe call at second base of no tag. But now that the call on the field is that there was no tag, I think the umpire and the crews in in the crew in New York’s going to have a hard time getting this one overturned. The call’s been confirmed. There was no tag. The runner is safe. Yeah, why they losing the And now Miguel Cairo is not happy with last and he’s gone. Well, I’m going to go Tommy Hutton here and say get your money’s worth. Miguel now had the Marlins challenged and then gotten the call. That’s one thing, Dinard. But they changed the call, forcing the Nats to challenge. Yeah. Yeah. That’s what makes no sense. Backwards. So Marcy’s at second. Lopez is at first. Augustine Ramirez is going to pinch hit from Liam Hicks. Augustine grounds one through the left side. The base hit. Here comes Jacob Marcy motoring around third and Augustine Ramirez ties the game here in inning number six for Miami. Marlins threatening to take the lead. Now Eric Wagaman and he grounds one through the right side. That’s a base hit. Here comes Otto Lopez. Eric Wagaman in the pinch has given the Marlins the lead. But you got Marcy at first, X at second. And they’re looking to provide some insurance. Otto Lopez. Righty against righty is swung on and lined back up the middle. That’s a base hit. Here comes X around third. He’s going to score. An insurance run for the Marlins here in the seventh. 53 Miami. They’ll concede a run to try for two here. House to the bag and now a throw to first. Works out well on a 5-3 inning ending double play. The Nets have the tying run on base. First and second, two away pitch. Ground ball hit weekly out to shortstop. Lopez will feed it to second in time. Natch will strand a couple and after seven and a half, it stays 5-3. Is out number two. Runners stay put at first and second. We’ll have an opportunity to see Xavier Edwards. Highf fly ball in the air to right field. Cruz is going back. He’s at the wall and it is gone. He didn’t know it was out. Good for three hit night. All right, Nationals down to their final out tonight and the ball game is over. 32nd come from behind victory of the season for the Marlins tonight.

Eury is gonna be an ace but man he always gives up untimely hits ala a leadoff double in the 3rd after retiring 6 straight, 5 way of strikeout. Iām excited about the Marlins future ān
Watching Bell run is hilarious. Man the Marlins have some serious bad luck even though they won.
The Marlins had been easily one of the most entertaining teams to watch this season. When they feel like playing good that is

I lost count of the number of errors. I like baseball, but this was despicable.
