  1. Gritty, greasy series win. Injuries, cold bats whatever, this team continues to battle. Just keep getting everyone healthy, keep control of the 4 seed in playoffs, and maybe our May bats come around and we run the table. Idk.

  2. Magic Number for any Wild Card: 8 (Giants)

Magic Number for Home Field Advantage in WCR: 14 (Padres)

  3. All things considered, that was about as low-stress of a one-run win as they’ve had in quite a while. Braves didn’t really threaten again after they scored their second run and the Cubs’ pen did an excellent job of piecing together those final outs.

Also feels good to get both of those wins with what is objectively two of their junkier lineups they’ve had out there this year.

  4. Great pitching performances for the Cubs tonight. Great to see the team score a few off Sale and knock him out of the game. Took the series.

Notable defensive plays by Castro and Santana. Turner with the RBI double. I hope PCA is ok.

  5. Nice game for Nico. The bullpen shut the Braves down the rest of the game. Now it’s time for the offense to get going

  6. Nico is having such an amazing year. Top 5 in the NL in batting average and WAR. Top 10 in steals as well.

  7. Even if the Braves aren’t that good this year that’s the first series win in Atlanta since 2018. Bear Strider and Sale. Gotta feel good about this.

  8. Same results as yesterday, Cubs win, Brewers, Padres and Mets all lose.

Cubs are now up to 99.9% chance of making playoffs per ESPN.
