The Tennessee Titans MUST Make These Changes NOW!

[Music] It has been a couple days now since the Titans were taken down by the Denver Broncos, but we’re putting that to the side. We are on to LA and the Titans, they get their home opener this week against the Los Angeles Rams. Welcome in Titans today by Chat Sports. I am your host B Alper and on today’s show I’m going to break down what Tennessee needs to do to win on Sunday. I got four changes for you guys of everything they have to do if they want a chance against the Los Angeles Rams. Let’s get into it. The first thing, and I think everybody can agree with me on this one, is that the offensive line doesn’t have to be better. It needs to be better. It needs to be better. What was the main thing that we talked about throughout the whole entire off seasonason? You have to protect your quarterback. Well, in week one, you didn’t. Pressure rates against quarterbacks. 53% for Cam Ward against Denver. And then you see Joe Burrow, Jaylen Herz, CJ Strad. But number one, the most pressured quarterback in the NFL for week one was Cam Ward. And that is a major problem because Mike Borghanszi, he spent this whole entire off season trying to get this offensive line better. You gave a bunch of money to two guys to try to get this better. And when you look at the PFF grades, well, we’ll talk about Dan Moore Jr. in a second, but you can see that 38 grade right there. Peter Scrsky was the best guy on the field. Floyd Cushenberry is solid. Kevin Zitler, and then JC Leam with a 58.3. But let’s get into that 38.1. Dan Moore Jr. was trash and he basically said everything that the Steelers thought he was all of last year. You see that 26.4 pass blocking grade. Awful dog Four pressures allowed, three hurries. That is completely unacceptable. And he is your left tackle. He is supposed to be your blind side. And when your blind side is playing awful, how are you supposed to complete passes? We wonder why Cam Ward’s tape looks so good. Everybody’s talking all the all 22 looks great. Well, why is his stats so low? Why was he only completing 12 for 28 passes, which was 43% completion percentage? Well, because his offensive line was terrible. And you gave Dan Moore Jr. boatload of money. Four years, $82 million with 50 guaranteed. And he was terrible on Sunday. Cam he I don’t want to see him running for his life. I do not want to see him having to not make play, not being able to make plays because he can’t stay in the pocket. And that’s what it felt like. The first play of the ball game, one of the first passes we saw was Cam Ward stand back there and out of nowhere, Tony Pard was just there. He threw it to his left and I don’t know how he got that pass. I don’t know how he got sacked. Amazing play. And then talking about your guy on the other side, JC Laam, well, he might have aggrav aggravated his hip. And today Davenport tweeted out that we had no sign of JC Laam. Devonre digs, Devandre Sweat, Phil Mullins. D Spears did some late work, light work, but uh he’s on IR, so he’s going to miss the next three weeks. So you might be going out with JC Laam and you also have to worry about Dan Moore Jr. Hopefully he can get better. Rest of the offensive line though, Kevin Zitler did a good job. Peter Peter Scrosky did a good good job. Like I just need Dan Ward Jr. to be better, man. I need the whole offensive line to be better because if the offensive line is good, Cam Ward is going to be good. How concerned are you with the offensive line? Give me a scale of one to 10. One, you’re not concerned at all. Or 10, oh my god, this he’s going to be running for his life and Cam Ward is going to have a long, long season. The second one, sticking with the offense and Cam Ward, I I get it kind of translates. The offensive line being bad translates to you being bad, but both the offense and Cam Ward have to be better. And when I’m main specifically talking about like you see right there 112 yards they didn’t score a touchdown. They had four field goals and that is a problem. Tony Pard eight 18 carries for 60 yards. Calvin Ridley four catches for 27 yards. They’re supposed to be the number one guy. You dropped three passes man. And I’m going to give you guys this chart and you guys can kind of pause it for a little bit and it’s about kind of the conversion rate to get a first down for the Titans. What? Where are the Titans on this chart? All the way down at the bottom. They did not get another first down any of the time during the game. 4% of the time they were getting a first down on first down. And then the rest of the time, you see them all the way at the bottom. Their their offense was terrible. And then your quarterback efficiencies here. Where’s Cam Ward? Like you see everybody in the top right corner. You’re really really good. Well, you can see right there Cam Ward all the way on the bottom right was not that great. next two to two tackle who had one of the worst games I’ve ever seen and then Bryce Young who it just seems like he is not getting it whatsoever. Also want to talk about the wide receivers because one of the reasons Cam Ward wasn’t so great was because there were drops on drops on drops on drops and Calvin Ridley had three drops including one on that final drive where he was wide open. He probably could have went for about 35 yards. He caught that went down and then that camera immediately cuts to Cam Ward’s dad just no like come on Calvin Ridley you’re supposed to be good you had a thousand yards last year and I know that you’re a great wide receiver I know that you’re good and then also L and Manor not going to complain about you are going to be better everybody has to be better on this offense now the defense I got no complaints I got no complaints about the defense I mean you picked off Bicks twice you had You made his life a living hell. Devandre Sweat, you stopped that play on fourth down and one getting through the line of scrimmage, which was absolutely crazy, which I love to see. But hopefully Quandre Diggs is good. The quarterbacks, Roger McCreary, I’d like to see Legarius Sneed get a little more reps, but overall it seems like this defense is going to be really good. The offense has to be better, man. It’s got to be better if they want to win games. You got to score points to win games. Can’t just hold teams 20 points and expect to win. Third one, and these last two are just simple. It’s basic fundamentals. And this one you got to play disciplined football. And that starts one the play calling. The play calling has to be better. Brian Callahan, you cannot be very very very dumb when it comes to having the opportunity to go into the half as the leader of a ball of the ball game. We saw it on Sunday, man. We were about to go into the half. There was about 50 seconds left and you threw the ball three times. And what happened? Well, you almost let up a safety to the Titans or to the Broncos and you later punted the ball back to the Broncos. They get a field goal. Thankfully, Jamir DK, he put on the absolute Jets and that’s why he plays. Kick returner got you in field goal range to go up in the half. That’s not always going to happen, man. You’re not always going to get a kick return where you take it 70 yards back into red zone into the red zone. You just have to make the smart smart smart plays. You also just have to be disciplined. The main biggest problem on the field was that the Titans we they were not disciplined in the slightest. They were like 13 penalties for 131 yards. That is un like that is unacceptable. How are you a team that has a lot of veterans on on your roster and you’re still going to commit penalties? You have to be more disciplined. You can’t let up those holding calls. You can’t let up those false starts. can’t let that thing happen. And also less bonehead plays. Titans were about to get the ball back and then the main guy, your best player on the team, Jeffrey Simmons, shoves the man and gets a 15 yardd penalty, puts them in field goal range and you don’t get the ball back until about a minute left. Yeah, I don’t know what the hell Shawn Payeyton was thinking just bombing it up on fourth down when you could have kicked the field goal to go up 10. But you had an opportunity, you blew it. If you had a better opportunity before that penalty and you would have got the ball back, probably in better field position, better chance for Cam Ward to go down the field and score. Have less bonehead plays. Be mature. Be smarter. Jeffrey Simmons. And the last one, it’s the last time I’m going to speak about it. Know the rules. Know the rules. Brian Callahan. If the elbow is in, it’s in. Throw the challenge flag. Know the rules of the football game. Two feet. Two feet, one knee, two feet, one butt cheek, two feet, one elbow, two feet. Okay, just know the rules of the football game. You are a coach. You are a head coach of this NFL team. I hope that every person that’s watching this video who knows football knows most of the rules. But if you don’t, that’s okay because you’re not the head coach of an NFL team. Brian Callahan is. You have to know the rules or else you cannot be a head coach in this league. Those four changes, if they’re made, Titans should have a good chance to win. good chance to upset the Los Angeles Rams.
