Forty Niner Way: It Takes Grit | Week 1 vs. Seattle Seahawks

[Applause] We got punched in the mouth last year and we have to respond. We understand that after a six- win season, we got to go prove it. We have to go prove it each and every day and we have to do that. We want to get off to a hot start week one and I think this is a really great opportunity for us to to do just that. Being in the division, being able to start one and own the division on the road, hostile environment, the emotions of a week one and not letting the moment get too big. you you see the fans in the stands just how loud it is in that stadium. Focus on one play at a time. Just rely on your technique and things that have got you to this point and don’t make the moment bigger than what it is. This youth movement has kind of recalibrated us a little bit. Now it’s just about let’s win this practice. Let’s win this game. Let’s just get back to being the 49er team in contention every year. Hey, play through the scheme. Play together. Communicate the noise. Game one ready to take it over. One and0 maybe left over and come on. Niners won the toss. Deferred to the second half. Off we go here with week one for this Seattle crowd revved up. Bottled up energy trying to reestablish this homefield advantage. Perie floats one. Pieraws wide open. Ricky Pieraw 25 yds. Try to go the distance on the opening drive. There’s KD. He’s got it. Ners go 95 on their first drive of the season. Let’s go, George. Talking about [Applause] Be great. Be great. Tacklers in space. Great tacklers in space. I’m coming. Boy, going to be wide open NFC West division this year. And you get these two teams going head-to-head to open the year. An early test on both sides. [Applause] Come on, baby. Brock. Way to put it on a line. We finally got it. The Seahawks trying to respond. Garnell turns, hands it off. Charbanet steps in and Seattle’s an extra point away from tying the game. It seems like both defenses have now settled down. It’s been an evenly matched game. The way both teams are playing, neither team is getting what they want out of the run game to the fourth quarter we go in a 10-7 game from the San Francisco 45. Sam Darnold and the Seahawks debut. Quickly outside Smith and Jigb wants the football. San Francisco’s got it. The rookie Maris Seagull. The ball out. Ball out. Yes. Yeah. Come on. And a huge takeaway for Robert Solah’s defense to start this fourth quarter. Oh my goodness. And I think it was Sam Okawanu that was able to hit Smith and Jigba and knock that football out. Straight drop from Perie to the sideline. Pieraw. He’s got it. Beating Willen from 32 for the tie. And it’s 10-10 under 10. Jason Meyers from 37 for the lead and he’s got it. 13-10 Seattle with 324. Let’s go win it. We got one drive to win. Let’s go. That’s what it’s all about. Slick. Let’s do it. Let’s go do it, baby. With the 49ers down three. 319 to go. Let’s see who they send out there. He’s given time. Wants it all downfield. Pier’s got it. Ricky Pearl inside the 25. Biggest play of the day. 45 yds with two and a half left. 144 to go. Fourth quarter. Shotgun. Perie looking. Look looking. Bump from behind. Now he rolls out. Brock Py rocks one. It is Tes. Touchdown San Francisco. Jake Tes who had never caught a pass in the NFL has caught three today, including the go-ahead touchdown with a minute and 34 left. No way. No way. Yay! Yay! [Applause] Witness me. Witness me. No way. Jake Tandress, the hero of week one. I told you, Jake, Los Gos finest hero of week one. Let’s go. Witness him. Come on, baby. Last chance for the Seahawks. Still a lot of time left for Seattle. We need a Nick Bosa sack. Second and four. Darnold. Can he let it go? The ball is loose. The 49ers have it. It’s Bosa. Nick Bosa. Nick Bosa. Come on, Nick Bosa. And the 49ers closing the door on the Seahawks. It was not a smooth ride, but it ends in smiles and Robert Salah’s return to the San Francisco 49ers. And Kyle Shanahan’s team somehow gets out of this game with a road win. Hell yeah. Hell yeah, baby. First one. Many more to come. Promise you that. Yeah. Hey, listen. We know it wasn’t pretty, but you know what? What time it is? Dump city every time. [Applause] Great job. Way to finish. Way to finish. Wow. Rook. Both rooks. Way to finish. Let’s go. Hey, we’ll learn off a win every time. Hey, got hell of a win, man. All three phases. I’m not going to get in all of it, but there was so much you had to overcome. An even game, but we were the better team, man. Hey. Hey. Hey. Love this team. Love how you guys battled. This is just the start, man. This is who we are. We getting better or worse next week. You never know when your moment’s going to be there. You got to stay stay in it, man. Hey, Niners on three. 1 2 3 matter. [Music] [Music]

  1. Had a great time with friends and family in Seattle watching the Niners handle biz at Lumen Field on Sunday! 1-0…on to New Orleans 🫑

  2. Throughout the ups and downs the lefts and rights..we will bend but never break πŸ’ͺ🏾 It’s red and gold till we dead and cold

  3. Yea, let’s respond with soft ass players and we lead the league AGAIN for the 5th year in a row with injuries. But let’s go all out with this PR propaganda bs to sell tickets. Coaching and front office are losers. Kittle focused on his WWE career after football only now. He’ll suck anything for a camera shot. Embarrassing drafting a kicker that high thinking you’re cute and so smart. Dummies

  4. 6:45 is that Trent Williams dapping up Bosa? Don't know if they still do, but Williams and Bosa used to have postgame meetings in the locker rom where they go over film together

Williams helping Bosa be a better DE, and Bosa helping Williams be a better LT – since they're both experts at the other side of the ball.
