Was high on him coming out of the draft, hoping this is a sign of good things to come

Really impressed with him. Knew nothing about him when we drafted him. Wasn’t sure why we were drafting a safety when we had 2 solid ones (lol I was wrong?).
He balled out though, hope he can continue it throughout the year. The rookie class overall looks very good
Woodson was the pick I felt was our biggest reach of the draft and the pick I disliked the most.
He pretty much immediately was getting rave reviews and has been backing it on the field. God, it’s nice being wrong sometimes.
It does feel like being at Cal for six seasons really left him much more mature and prepared coming into the league.
He was one of a few guys who played every down on defense. It was nice to see him play well.
They must have rewatched the tape. Because just after the game I remember seeing 68.3. I hope he stays this good!

That TFL he had on the pass to the left flats was nice. Solid first outing for him
Man if Woodson and Williams both turn into serviceable starters, this is gonna be one of our best drafts ever.
Him and Caleb Downs are going to make a ferocious tandem next year. I’m joking, I’m joking.
Seriously though, he looked awesome Sunday. The kid can tackle, and he got Jeanty one on one in space, that’s not easy at all.
This was the guy that impressed everyone with his leadership skills during the combine, and I remember him being on my draft radar when seeing Vrabel speak about him. Definitely a Vrabel guy, and I’m sure it had a lot to do with the recent movement of Peppers and the depth movement of Dugger.
He’s also plays super fast – I watched a play when he was at Cal where he dropped back on the snap as a deep safety and then, when it turned out to be a run, was the first person to make the tackle with hardly any gain on the play. What’s going to hold him back imo (provided he doesn’t develop any more), is he looks lost when he’s in zone. He definitely doesn’t have the awareness/feel at the snap, but his speed often makes up for it.
So this looks like the beginning of continuing the trend of dudes with the last name Woodson being secondary menaces.
