NBA LIVE! Golden State Warriors vs Los Angeles Lakers | September 11, 2025 | Warriors vs Lakers 2K26
Malone for second place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list. Does he envision claiming that number one spot of Kareem Abdul Jabbar? Well, LeBron said obviously health plays the most important part. Never chased a record in my life. I just wanted to keep getting better. We’ll see what happens. Kevin, back to you. Yeah, it’s just a matter of time, David. Thank you. And now the Golden State Warriors starters. And for Los Angeles, we’ve got Luca Donuch. LeBron James is out there with Ruie Hatchimura. Then it’s DeAndre Aton and it’s Reeves in at the two guard. We are in for a treat in this matchup, Greg, with two conference rivals set to clash yet again. Yeah, we’re going to see some added effort and intensity and and don’t be surprised if it gets a little chippy. It’ll be Los Angeles off the tip. Back to Donic. James outside. The shots good on the assist by Donic. The raw power of James excels at taking on physical defense and finishing. [Applause] The Lakers with the rebound. Here’s Donic. He hits it from nine. And with good length and athleticism, Donic not only gets to the rim, but boy can he finish and just over a minute played here in the start of the game. Golden State moving the ball around. Just five to shoot. Golden State needs to get off a shot and it’s Green missing. down low. Here’s Reeves and he uses the glass on the layup. And their post play has been really solid right off the bat. They’ve been struggling here on offense. Yeah, a bit of a dry spell for sure. Curry against Donic, [Applause] the 11-footer. That one a little long. Very surprising. He gets the ball where he wants it in a decent matchup. Oh, okay. I guess LeBron wanted that one to sting a little. He’s put a little extra on that one. Now about two minutes gone here in the first quarter. outside Curry. He’s covered by Eightton to the middle to stop the run. And it’s Curry laying it in. What a shot by Steph Curry. It’s the confidence and the soft touch that makes it look easy. And one of the many special things about Steph Curry, his loyalty, sticking with this Warriors franchise since being drafted back in ’09. Now Curry following Himimer’s three-point attempt. Back to Curry. [Applause] And talking about Steph, he is the face of the franchise and his loyalty is shown. Steph’s been a model citizen. Never complains, never causes any issues, willing to work with young teammates. He is the ideal superstar to build around. One up, one down, two points with his first shot this game. And once he got to the 10, I think he was surprised to find himself that wide open. Wow. That’s a defensive breakdown. Can’t do that against good scorers. Here’s Reeves. His shot is good, making him a perfect two for two from the floor. Good way to start this game. You want to get him rolling as early as possible. And we know once he gets in the rhythm, he’s a really tough guy to stop. shoots the shot off that time and the Lakers going the other way now. He looked just a little out of rhythm. He’s still trying to establish consistency from there. Hard to believe, Greg, last season. LeBron missing the playoffs for just the third time in his career. And Kevin, it almost felt surreal to not have him in the playoffs. I mean, this guy’s been a fixture in the postseason for almost two decades now. Just another bullet on LeBron’s incredible resume. Shooting two. [Applause] That one is off. And Steve, for a lot of reasons, last year was a very frustrating season for the Lakers. Reason why Kevin, LeBron, and AD were out for extended periods. Russell Westbrook didn’t really fit in at first. They missed the playoffs. Keep in mind, lots of people picked the Lakers to win it all. Good on the second free throw. When it comes to longevity and skill, no one has done it better than LeBron James. He’s in a category all to himself. Now here’s Curry [Applause] to the paint. Puts it up and it’s Eightton with the rebound. Eightton’s got his fifth rebound in this one. Donic kicks to James. [Applause] Here’s Reeves. [Applause] from deep three-point range and the rebound goes to the Warriors. And he’s a good shooter from outside, but not sure from that deep. You know, we’re seeing players move further and further back to create space, but that does make it a tougher shot. And the Lakers have possession after the Warriors pick up three. Hatchima kicks to Eaton. LeBron James on the way. The shot from 20 ft away. And again, no good by the Lakers. He’s covered by Eightton. [Applause] Curry looking it over and foul on the shot. He’ll shoot two at the free throw line. I mean, the last guy you want to foul in this league, Steph Curry is automatic at the line. And a moment to look at the scoreing approach in terms of where the points are coming from for the Lakers. For me, they made a point to attack inside early in the game and it’s paid off for them. A lot of solid looks in the paint and also guys, they’re playing for one another right now. All those extra passes are leading to easy buckets. When you think of Curry, his shooting is what comes to mind always. Specifically, how quick his release is. [Applause] Stephen Curry hits them both. He’s living there tonight. A tough guy to guard without fouling. And the bonus. He’s going to knock him down. Dashic finds James. [Applause] Eightton with it. Ties a three and he battles for the ball and gets the second chance bucket. A towering presence on the offensive glass. Aiden uses his height well to keep possessions alive. And it’s good for two. Clearly, he’s one of the best there is in the business when it comes to making that lead pass. Pass to Reeves. Here’s James. Fires the three. That’s miss number three for him now. Two for five from the floor. They get it back and he gets the whistle. Two free throws coming up. It’s on Luca Donic. The physicality of Jimmy Butler poses so many issues for defenders. Steve, Jimmy Butler is definitely a defensive difference maker. He is, Kevin. Back in the 2021 season, Butler led the league in steals. He is so committed to forcing you to make mistakes with the ball. [Applause] First one falls for the toughness and passion that Butler plays with is admirable. A natural leader on and off the floor. Los Angeles making a switch here. Hayes has checked in. [Applause] He’s off on the second. Well, we know we’re in the later stages of his career, but Steve, it’s just simply incredible, mind-boggling really, how athletic LeBron James remains. Kevin, to put it frankly, we’ve never seen anything like this. He’s still getting up with ease for some vicious throwdowns. A testament to how hard he works. Now here’s Curry [Applause] and trying for the go-ahead basket. It doesn’t go in. Here’s Reeds. It’s up a three. The shot’s good on the assist by Donic. Donic has got three assists now in this one. Back to Curry on deep and it’s out of bounds. Nice touch by Curry. Smarts checked in for Los Angeles. Vincent comes in for Luca Donuch. [Applause] Los Angeles leading by four. side. Smart. Oh, in position outside. Curry to the inside. A good finish at the rack off the slick feed. Good work by Curry moving the ball. He has a good eye for those openings. So, timeout called here. The first for Los Angeles. Well, it’s a players league, but certainly coaching has its place. Yeah. If that weren’t the case, you wouldn’t see so many coaching changes in the off season. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] Vanderbilt’s checked. in for Los Angeles. So, it’s the Lakers now from deep LeBron. Jay with the rebound. The Warriors trailing. There’s the triple. Curry shot is off. And there hasn’t been anything easy for him in this period. And you’ve seen they’ve made numerous attempts to try to get him going. shows how valuable he is to this offense. Now, here’s Curry. [Applause] Now, here’s Moody. [Applause] Some nice passing by Golden Stadium. Here’s Hee and he can’t bank that one in. And James will bring it up for the Lakers. to the middle. Here’s Vanderbilt. And the dunk by Vanderbilt. Hard to stop even when you know it’s coming. LeBron waits for just the right moment. Delivers the perfect pass. How here’s he still getting warmed up offensively. No scoring yet from him. Five to shoot. Curry pass it to Jay. shooting foul as the whistle blows. He’ll shoot two free throws. The Warriors have shot 75% at the line tonight going three for four and at the line last season about 78% as a team. Pretty solid numbers. [Applause] [Applause] No good on that one. [Applause] And he misses the second one as well. So he is 0 for two that time. Lakers leading by four. Left side. Smart. Hayes. It’s no good. Golden State’s gone one of three from beyond the arc so far in the game. The Lakers shooting at around 44% in the early going here. Smart passes to Vanderbilt. Pass to Vincent and he gets the whistle for the 3second call. And the Warriors making a change here. Warriors trail by four. Curry with it. [Applause] Pass to Moody. Hooked away. Hayes with the steel. The pass to Vincent. Back to Smart and the call on the shot that sends him to the line. They get Stephen Curry. And some of what Smart gives this team doesn’t always show up in the stat sheet, but but he makes plays that help you win. [Applause] Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] The first free throw is good. And Marcus Smart Ga, the very definition of a guy you love on your team but hate to play against. Yeah. And teams that go deep need that sort of presence. Smart is more than just an agitator though. Great player who anyone would want to play alongside. [Applause] He hits one then misses the second attempt from the free throw line and Hayes throws it down. Letting the guy sneak by for a put back off a free throw. That that is inexcusable. [Applause] Rebound the Lakers. James has got four rebounds in this game. And there’s the feed to Smart. Now the dish to Hayes. Outside Smart. Back to Hayes. Shot clock at four. Smart misses. Woo! Blown opportunity right there. Won’t get many chances easier than that one. Here’s Moody. They get a bit Jay and finally they hit one. Hustle points count just like any others. That’s a great play. And he lobbs it up toward the rim and the dunk by Vanderbilt. Oh, and the lead gets bigger on a ridiculous offensive sequence. That dunk alone would have been spectacular. Never mind it coming at the end of an alleyoop. Golden State moving the ball around. Curry outside. Nailed from three-point land. Curry’s got seven points in the game. You must chase Steph off the three-point line or you will pay. There’s 25 seconds left to play in the first. Shoots from 14. Vincent misses. Missed opportunity. Wide open from mid-range. He would love to get that one back. A shot by Curry. No good. And his pure defensive effort changed that shot from an easy one to a tough one. And you know, technically it’s a high percentage look, but this is why we play the game. And so it’s the Los Angeles Lakers with a six-point lead at the end of the quarter. Defensively, they have gotten after it, contesting every shot going up. We come back right after this. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] And for those of you just tuning in, the second quarter of action is where we’re at right now. And taking a look at the Lakers performance here. What have they been doing or not doing in the game? Stingy on the defensive end in that first quarter. They were just getting up into people. Yeah, they were very physical and very aggressive. They’ve just been the better team so far. Warriors trail by six. Hatchima out there with DeAndre Aton. Then it’s LeBron James. Then there’s Donuch. And it’s Reeves in at the shooting guard position. That’s the Laker five. And the whistle blows. It’s going to be on Luca Donic. That’ll be his second foul of the game. [Applause] Now here’s Moody guarded closer. No good that time. So, the Lakers will take it the other way. In the corner, it’s James. Pass to Aton. Here’s Reeves headed by Green. Here’s Donic. Warriors with the rebound. Green. The pass to Jay. He’s covered by Hatchima. Here’s Jay. Hachimura grabs the miss. Woo. That’s just a case of bad defense and even worse offense. And the instincts there from Hachimura. Notice the overcommitment by the defense and then makes the right pass. Smitty, you know, when you watch an NBA game today, it seems like there is endless switching, positionless players. Why is that, Kevin? It’s a game of matchups. Teams are looking to exploit those mismatches. Let’s say you can get your point guard on a center. Usually, you win that possession. Warriors trail by eight. They could use a big shot here to get this offense going. Too many empty possessions right now. They need the basket. Here’s Moody. The shot comes out and the Lakers take it the other way. James finds Donic. Yes, it’s James picking up the assist. James has got three assists in the game. And you love seeing that great mobile one drive a second time and continuing to press their advantage. They’re not taking their foot off the gas. And for those of you just joining us, we’re almost 2 and 1/2 minutes into the second quarter. Here’s Moody. Buries it from three-point range. Beautiful feed by Draymond. He plays a physical game, but he also has great awareness and skill inside. Here’s Reeves. Right wing just five on the clock. The three for Donic. Iman Green with the rebound. Warriors trail by seven. out to the right wing. Takes a three. Rebounded by DeAndre Eaton. Eightton’s got seven rebounds in the game. Back to James. [Applause] Donic outside closing in on four minutes played here in the second quarter. He gets that one. Donic has got six and he’s become a true warrior on the backboard. Donic understands how to position himself on that offensive board. And the Warriors decide to take their first time out here. And you watch the way Donic runs this offense. He’s become a master at the pick and roll. Incredible to see someone run it to perfection. [Applause] Heat. Heat. [Applause] But he yielded. is checked in for Moody. [Applause] James covering and they call the foul. So, he’s got the and one chance here to make it a three-point play. You know what? This is a skill set to be able to take the bump and stay on balance after the initial contact. This is his third free throw attempt of the game. And I know he was pleased he’s with his foul shooting last year. How about 87% from the line? [Applause] [Applause] Los Angeles leading by six. LeBron passes to Hatchima. Ranjage outside and Draymond Green picks up the foul. That is his first foul of the game. And really, these are some of the toughest calls an official has to make. And that replay showed just how forceful that block was. And guys, they’ll think twice about attempting that shot again. That was a big time rejection. [Applause] Eighton with the bounce pass. Six to shoot. Passes it to Reeves. The Lakers need to get a shot off here. Here’s Hatchima. Sitting here watching Draymond. He’s a phenomenal defender. Just watching the principles and how active he is. [Applause] And here is Heield. Nothing yet on the scoreboard for him. Hatchima against healed. Anj passes to Hatchima. Eightton trying to break free that misses and he’s 0 for four. Kicks it to Heel. Three-pointer. rebounded by the Lakers. They’ve led by as much as 10. Let’s check in with our reporter, David Aldridge. Thanks, Kevin. Of course, the Warriors offense stands out for its emphasis on ball movement. Coach Steve Kerr says if you get to touch the ball and be a part of the action, whether it’s as an assist man, ball mover, shooter, dribbler, the more people who are involved in the offense, the more powerful it becomes. Kevin, strength and numbers indeed. As has always been the case for his offense, the more the better. And it’s worked for him. Da, thanks. [Applause] And so it’s Golden State with it. Eight-point game. It’s stolen by Hatchima. Illis pass on that one, guys. I mean, he had to know there was a man there in position to get that turnover. And again, it’s the Warriors missing. And James will bring it up for Los Angeles. Only given up six here in this quarter [Applause] on the wing. Heel, the three-pointer, no good. And when you can’t get anything to fall, it definitely gets in your head. And his rhythm, it’s been way off. The goal now might be to get him something easy at the rim so he can just see the ball go in through the net. And that helps. [Applause] Healed outside for the three. The shot misses and the Lakers will go the other way with it. Pass to Reeds. The passing of LeBron is so special, so talented at finding his wide open teammates. Time out called the Warriors. And the lack of rim protection, top of the list. And it boils down to the question, toughness. One team showing it, the other allowing itself to be bullied. Heat. Heat. Heat. Heat. Vanderbilt’s checked in for James. Get Golden State moving it around. He’s covered by Eightton. Six on the shot clock to end the cold streak. Good on that shot. And with that, the Los Angeles lead is cut down now to just 10 on the basket from Jimmy Butler. The pass to Reeves. Here’s Donic again. Los Angeles. Well, Luca has options all over the floor. He’s a versatile shooter who can utilize the mid-range. Let’s go. Vanderbilt with the rebound. The defender took away the airspace, crowded him. That changed the shot. Reeves gets the bucket. A playmaker of Donett’s talents. Wasn’t missing that gap. He quickly gets the ball to the wide open man. Guys, they’re looking for a way to score here. Yeah, they’ve had a tough time taking the lid off to the paint. Here’s Curry. That one’s good. Just his third make. Brings him to three for eight in this game. Slick move by Steph Curry to beat the contact and finish. Pass to Reeves. Anjic outside. passes to Vanderbilt. Here’s Reeves. 11 points in the game from deep three-point range. Second chance shot and Aton with the layup. Eightton’s got the lead up to 14 now for the Lakers. And padding that field goal percentage. Just hard to stop Aiden when he gets the ball that deep. Here’s Curry. Nice D from Donic. That’s the kind of D you need when he’s got the ball near the hoop. They were all over him. Two shots. [Applause] Lakers shooting their fifth and sixth free throw of the game. and they shot their free throws at a measly 73% clip over the course of last season. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] He’s off on the first and the Lakers making a change here. Smarts checked in. [Applause] and he’s good on the second. Warriors trail by 15 now. A timeout called by Golden State. Trying to find some answers offensively. Yeah, these guys need to work together as a team, as a unit. Try and carve out some easy buckets. [Applause] Heat Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] on defense. The Lakers, they lead by the biggest margin of the game, 15 points. Outside, Curry shoots from 14 and he gets the jumper to drop. Curry’s got 11. We all prefer to watch Steph Curry shoot a three, but he can really shoot the mid-range jumper. Pass to Smart. The pass to Reeves. Lock at six. Here’s a Warriors with the rebound. 158 left in the first half of the game. [Applause] Two free throws coming up and they call the shooting foul. Crafty play by Jimmy sticking with his shot despite the close D to draw the foul. The Warriors have missed a few free throws up to this point, shooting four of seven from the foul line tonight. The first one falls. Moody’s check in for the Warriors. [Applause] So he gets them both. Lakers leading by 11. Anj passes to Reeves. Unable to get that one. The Warriors go the other way with it. Golden State moving the ball around. Back to Curry. from downtown. It’s hauled in by Los Angeles. The biggest lead of the game, 15 points. [Applause] Donic feeling it out. Green with the rebound. Warriors trail by 11. [Applause] outside. Curry lets the three fly. Basket number five goes in. He’s now five of 12 from the floor. On the catch and shoot step is nearly automatic. All he needed was the ball. 34 seconds left here in the second. Fouron three break. and contact on the shot. So, he’ll be shooting free throws here. That one on Aton. And I like the fact that the defense is looking to protect the rim at all costs. He shot well from the line tonight going four for five. And the first one at the line is good. And some changes here for the Lakers. Jackson Hayes comes in for Aton. And Vincent subbed in for Luca Donic. [Applause] And he makes both free throws. [Applause] Lakers leading by six. [Applause] Smart deciding where to go with it. Trying to get something going. And that’ll be two free throws coming up. Officials on the call with the foul. As tough as they get. Mark’s a bulldog out there. Does a good job of drawing contact oftent times by initiating it. And this is his second trip to the line in the game. How about last season? Made up about 79% of his attempts. So those are really quality numbers. [Applause] And the first one drops. [Applause] And so Smart nails both of them. And so it’s the Los Angeles Lakers holding on to an eight-point lead heading into the break. They’re playing a bruising game inside and it’s working for him. And a chance now to send it over to David Aldridge standing by courtside. David, thanks Kevin. Here with Steve Kerr. Coach, what did the team do in that first half defensively? Just competed. You know, we have a very good defensive team and our guys are getting after it. I think we’ve been a lot better defensively than we have offensively and some of that defense has led to some transition and some open shots. Something your guys always fall back on. Thanks Steve. Back to you Kevin. Thank you David for that interview and we’ll see you back here after the break for third quarter basketball. And now the 2K Sports halftime show. Hey folks, can’t tell you uh how how much it means to us to have you back with us on the halftime show on 2K Sports. Ernie Johnson, uh Kenny the Jet Smith, Shaquille O’Neal. Means the world, doesn’t it? So big. The Lakers came ready to play. They had great chemistry early on, both offensively and defensively, stringing together an impressive 8 to nothing run to jump on top early. They closed the first quarter with a six-point advantage. In quarter number two, they fought off several attempted rallies and actually pulled further out in front, ending the half up by eight. Shaq, what you think about the Lakers? Love how hard they’re going at it on the offensive board, showing some real tenacity every time a shot goes up. They’ve carved out this lead because of their aggressive mindset. Don’t expect that to change in the second half. And Kenny, how’ you think the Warrior were playing? Obviously, that was U G L Y. It’s And that’ll do it for us. The third quarter about to begin with Kevin Harland standing by. We’ll catch you on the flip side, my brother. [Applause] And we’ve got third quarter of basketball for you. Two quarters in the books. One guy who’s been getting it done so far, Stephen Curry. Man, he’s been running wild on him through that first half. absolute dynamite on offense. This is his challenge to continue to dominate to help them try to close strong here in the second half. We played through the first half. Plenty of basketball though left in this one. And so Curry will bring it up for the Warriors. Trailing here by eight, setting the floor for the Warriors. [Applause] Shot clock at six. From deep. The Lakers with the rebound. Reeves has got four rebounds in this game. That shot missing. And it’s the Warriors taking it the other way. [Applause] covered by LeBron and stolen by Eaton and it’s the Lakers on the break. Feeds it to LeBron. And such a physical player inside. LeBron doesn’t fear contact on the way up. The Lakers have shot five of eight from the foul. [Applause] [Applause] Two shots on the first. [Applause] That free throw missing. [Applause] No good on the second free throw. Warriors trail by eight. [Applause] outside. Curry throws up the baseline. Hatchim grabs the miss. Not sure if that’s the shot you were looking for, but it’s a fairly clean look. Almost have to take it. It’s going to be out of bounds. Los Angeles will retain possession. [Applause] on the wing. James, he’s got nine. Trying to get open is Himmer. James no good. He’s covered by Eightton on the wing. Green shoots over Himura. Green. No luck. Los Angeles leading by eight. And as good as Draymond Green has been on the floor, this guy will be an alltime broadcaster. Already a popular podcast. great TV studio appearances as well. Reeves gets the bucket. Man, I’ll tell you, when you get your floater game going, it’s a tremendous weapon. [Applause] [Applause] Guys are looking for a spark here. Yeah, a cold stretch offensively for sure. Back to Curry. Lets it go from deep. Rebound the Lakers. Eightton’s got rebound number 11 for him here tonight. And Kayman Green, the next broadcasting star. You’ve watched his work. Why is that? And Kevin, I think his basketball IQ is incredible. and and we see that when he plays, but he can also vocalize it to the audience. And of course, Draymond is not afraid to say what he thinks. Yeah, nice strong finish there. Nearly a three-point opportunity in the game. He shot six of seven from the line. [Applause] Shooting two. [Applause] First free throw is good. [Applause] [Applause] And that’s good as he hits both of his shots. A touch over two and a half minutes of basketball played here in the third quarter. Pass to Hatchima. Lakers working the ball around now. Passes it to Eightton and foul on the shot. So he’ll get a chance at the line. An absolute beast inside. Love how Aiden uses his size to draw these fouls. First trip to the free throw line for him in this one. [Applause] [Music] [Applause] Two, two, [Applause] and he makes the first. And you just have to be enticed by the skill set of Aiden, a 7 foot one behemoth who plays with a lot of physicality and skill on both ends. [Applause] Eighton hits them both. And now we’re three minutes into the third quarter of play. Back to Curry. [Applause] Shoots over Donic. Curry can’t get it to go. And that is the exact type of opportunity this offense is looking to create. You know, if you get the ball to the right guy in the right spot, more often than not, you’re coming away with points. Hatchim grabs the miss got four rebounds in this game. Ronic outside. Great communication on the alleyoop and the Lakers lead by 12. And you got to respect Lucas passing skills. Just a multi-talented player who is all about sharing the basketball. Down low and the rejection by James. Three-pointer and the Lakers get it back. Kachimura bank shot. No good. Anzo Green will bring it up for the Warriors. Their defense has only allowed six points in the second half. Los Angeles leading by 12. Reeves. Yes, it’s James picking up the assist. Reeves has got four this quarter. And Matador defense. That’s one of the easiest shots he is ever going to see. And this is what happens when you start to break your opponent’s spirit. The resistance is no longer there. The Lakers have gone a lackluster three of nine from the field since halftime. And there’s the pass to Donic. Now Hatchima. Lock at six. Pulls up on the wing. And he overshot that one. Missing. Warriors trail by 14. [Applause] To the inside. to end the drought. Curry with the bounce pass. Hi Murray grabs the miss. At some point when you recognize someone’s this out of rhythm, you have to shift to something else. Reeves can’t hit. Golden State’s gotten off to a very slow start from three-point range in the second half. They’re 0 for four. kicks it to Kirk outside Green. It’s rebounded by Donic. Donic has got his six rebound on the night. Pass to Aton. The shots good on the assist by Donic. Eightton’s got 10 points. And a strong showing of physical strength there from Aton. Defenders have their hands full when he’s around the rim. Timeout called the Warriors. Let’s see if coach can get them back on the right track because right now it feels like the pace is being dictated to them. They need to go back to playing their brand of basketball. Heat. Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Heat. [Applause] Smarts check in for the Lakers. Passes it to Santos. And again, it’s the Warriors missing and it’s the Lakers ball. They’ve gone on a 102 run, not allowing much. Anytime you can get LeBron something right at the rim, that’s good offense. Healed outside and the pass to Sanchos. back to Heield. Stolen by Smart and the call on the shot that sends him to the line. And what do you guys think so far about the offensive approach for the Lakers? I just love how they’re taking advantage of their chances to run and they’re pushing it. Fast break points can win you ball games. And another thing they did well was just keep the effort up offensively. Lots of boards leading to extra opportunities which they converted and that one falls for Smart. Some changes for the Lakers. Jackson A’s he’s checked in for Hatchima and Vincent subbed in for Luca Donuch. The Warriors also with a sub. Moody’s checked in for Green. [Applause] [Applause] And so Smart nails both of them. Warriors trail by 20. Pass to Moody. Pass to Jay. And looks like the illegal pick was set. Yep, that’s right. that’ll get their attention and not the most common call you’ll see in the NBA, but hard to argue that pick wasn’t illegal. It’s often a tough call that can go either way, but I agree with you on that one. Always good to get another look at a terrific defensive play and big defensive plays like that will help them stay in control of this one. Passes it to Smart. over Moody. Offensive rebound. Here’s Aton. And Aton throws it down. And it’s the way Aiden uses his body inside. It’s what allows him to get so close to the basket. And the Warriors miss again. And they just can’t find a way to end this thing. Nothing falling right now. All you see is a lot of frustration. Someone needs to step up and make a play to turn this thing around. James with the bucket. LeBron’s got 13 points. When you make contact with LeBron, you often feel it more than he does. Moody the pass to Jay. Here’s healed and no good. The dry spell continuing for him. Here’s LeBron. He kicks it to Eightton. There’s the pass to Smart. Six on the shot clock and Aton throws it down. Offensively, defensively, they are in total control. This has been an impressive performance tonight. Even with a big lead, they’ve maintained their focus. Back to Hee. Pass to Moody. Misses the three. And it’s the Lakers ball. They’ve got a 22 run going. What a pace. Got a piece of it now. The Warriors moving it up. Kept alive. Jay the pass to Heel. Second shot opportunity and he sinks the layup. A guy like Buddy out hustles other players on the floor. He He gets inside and there he finishes strong. And here’s James outside. No good there. And it’s the Warriors taking it the other way from outside the arc. He can’t hit. And here’s Los Angeles. They’re on a 20 to4 run. A foul won’t scare King James off. He gets assertive and takes the shot. The Lakers have made nine free throws in the game. 14 attempts. [Applause] Free throw good. LeBron Vanderbilt’s checked in. Free. [Applause] That’s also good. So, he hits both free throws. And here’s Heed. They’ll bring it up for the Warriors. Here’s Moody from outside off the mark. And he didn’t punish them for the weak coverage there, but they can’t count on him to continue missing. LeBron no good. The Warriors shooting a rough 22% so far in this one. Beyond the ark trains it from beyond the ark. He has six. I tell you what, it’s it’s almost like stealing to watch how he plays the game from this seat. Pass to Smart. Pass to Vincent. 20 ft out. The Lakers keeping it going. A new 14-second shot clock. When when you’re trying to claw your way back into a game, you cannot allow second chance opportunities, especially when you’re this far down, you have to make the most of every sequence. Launches it. He gets hauled in by Los Angeles. James has got nine rebounds in the game. Getting it done. Smart misses. And the Warriors with possession here. Checked by Heield. Nobody around. Drops in the tray. Heield’s got five points now this quarter. A a catch and shoot specialist. He has a quality jump shot and really makes quick decisions. Vincent the pass to Hayes. Kicks it to James. [Applause] Now here’s Smart. He’s covered closely over Moody. Offensive rebound kicks it out to James. 5second differential between the shot clock and the game clock. Off target from three-point range. Healed can’t hit. Los Angeles leading by 22. Vincent the pass to LeBron. Good. LeBron’s got 17. It doesn’t take much for LeBron to get going, which is what makes him so intimidating. And he launches it from deep. No good. And so it’s LeBron James making things happen for Los Angeles. He notched eight points in the quarter and has that terrific basketball instinct on display. We’ll get right back to the action when we return. And there may not be a lot of drama down the stretch as we head into the fourth quarter, but stranger things have happened. [Applause] The Lakers shooting 43% from the field. We’ve got Jared Vanderbilt, Ruie Hatchimura out there with LeBron James. Then there’s Luca Donic and it’s Reeves in at the two. That’s who’s in the game for the Lakers. And in the history of the game, few players LeBron’s size have handled the ball as well as he does. Oh, what an impressive dribble drive. That replay brought to you by Mobile One and putting that pressure on the rim. That’s what it’s all about. Threatening with that attack. [Applause] Rebound the Lakers. Vanderbilt’s got six rebounds here tonight from deep and it’s LeBron missing and not doing his team any favors jacking up three-pointers. He needs to realize that right away inside Vanderbilt. Yes. And it’s LeBron picking up the assist. James has got six assists now in the game. And I’ll bet his percentage is pretty high from that range. [Applause] And Jared Vanderbilt gets the whistle that time. That’ll be his second foul of the game. Yeah, clearly he had an established position there. ABC’s checked in for Los Angeles and the Warriors also making a change. Collins has checked in. [Applause] We’ve played just over one minute here in the fourth quarter. Down to five on the shot clock and the whistle blows as the basket counts. And a three-point play chance right here. One free throw coming up. [Applause] [Applause] [Applause] Mind the lanes. Mind the lanes. One shot. [Applause] Here’s Donuch. Now the pass to Reeves. Back to Donuch. [Applause] About a minute and a half into the fourth quarter now. Pass to Hatchima. Here’s ABC and a miss there on the triple. [Applause] Pass to Moody. Passes it to Collins. 8 ft away. Green breaking loose. Yeah. Collins in the post. Vanderbilt defending and it’s Green with the jam. Draymond is just a master at executing the screen and roll. And the pass to Hatchima. [Applause] [Music] Just under two and a half minutes gone here in the final quarter. Donic against Collins. They grabbed their own miss up top. Donic. [Applause] Vanderbilt. The pass to ABC goes back up. Donic. No good. And so Green will bring it up for Golden State. [Applause] And just about 3 minutes through the fourth quarter here to the middle. Here’s Collins up and in on the layup. The execution is there and Draymond a reliable facilitator always puts the team first. Pass to Hatchima. Here’s ABC. [Applause] That one off the back iron and out on the wing. Green passes to Moody. Back to Green. Fires for three. Can’t hit that one. It’s hauled in by Los Angeles. [Applause] And it’s Hachi Murray in the corner. Can they get it? And that one clearly a foul. Gets the whistle and two shots coming up. And when Pachimura is looking to score, it sometimes forces the D to get aggressive. Love the energy. [Applause] [Applause] two [Applause] and he knocks down the first one. Andre Aiden’s check in for the Lakers. James comes in for Vanderbilt. Curry’s checked in for Golden State. [Applause] [Applause] Hatimura hits them both. Warriors have gone three of eight here in the fourth quarter. Outside Curry pass to Moody. Back to Curry for three and he’s good on the three ball and and looking a lot better now but still a long way to go to get back into this one. Very nice stretch from them but but the reason why they not into this game they have to get some stops. Here’s Donic. James kicks to Eaton. Over in the corner. Donic. Shot clock at five. The Warriors pull it in and Green now top of the key. It’s hauled in by LeBron. Lakers leading by 20. [Applause] Shot from 12 and the Lakers with another miss. Now here’s Moody and there’s the call. It’s going to be an illegal screen. And guys, point of emphasis for the league is to really crack down on illegal screens. Yes. The last few years, the rules changes have tended to benefit the offenses. This evens things out a bit. An outside [Applause] kicks it out to LeBron. Not going to go that time. And Golden State will go the other way with it. Empty possession and you don’t want to miss these easy looks. Their ability again to stretch the floor particularly in this second half. This was obviously a focal point coming out of the break. Looks smart when the shots are going down. High percentage look for him, but bottom line, they’re not all going to go down. Murray grabs the miss. Lakers leading by 17. The basket to LeBron. Here’s Eaton. Good. And the assist goes to LeBron. And the sheer muscle of a Sometimes he’s impossible to stop on the way up. Golden State moving it around. He’s covered by Eightton from deep. The Lakers with the rebound. Eightton’s got rebound number 17 if you can believe that. LeBron passes to Reeves. Back to James. Pass to Hatchima. Here’s Reeves. Guarded by Green. Trying to get open is Hetchime Murray. Reeves can’t hit and it’s the Warriors ball. They’re on a 13-4 run and that’ll be two free throws coming up. Officials on the call with the foul. [Music] shooting two [Applause] and the first one at the line is good. Los Angeles making a switch here. Smarts checked in. [Applause] and good on the second. So he makes them both. And so Donic will bring it up for the Los Angeles Lakers. They lead by 17. Smart passes to Donic. And they double up. Donic. Smart. Wide open. He fires. The shots good on the assist by Donic. And of course, this is Smart’s biggest hurdle. Sometimes he looks great shooting the three. Sometimes though, it’s just the opposite. The feed to Kurt. Five on the clock. James with some nice D. And the truth is, I’ve been there. He’s trying to find the rhythm on his shot. He feels like he’s close and that’s why he keeps shooting. [Applause] Back to Smart. James finds Smart. Shoots over Curry. Smart misses. passes it to Green and Green slams it in. Just another thing to love about Draymond’s game. He runs the floor with a fury. Pass to LeBron. Back to Donic over Kurt. Donic. No good. And hustle like that is why he leads this team in rebounds tonight. Controlling the glass helps them maximize their number of possessions. He’s done everything he can do to help them in that area. Green no luck. Lakers leading by 18. Hatimura the pass to Donic to the paint and the dunk by Donic. Totally unselfish play there from Aiden. sends the ball to someone with a wide open look. Back to Curry against screen. He kicks it to Curry. Shoots over Donic and they’ll get another chance and the shot is long. Los Angeles has gone one and three from outside the arc since we’ve reached the fourth quarter. Smart finds Hatchima. Good. And Smart gets the assist. Smart’s got four assists in the game. I love how under control Pachimura is able to push his way through the contact and score. Nice work. And the ball’s tied up, so we’ll have a jump ball. And here are the Warriors now. The pass to Curry. Six to shoot. Stolen by Smart down low. Here’s Hatchima. And the dunk by Hatimura. And proving to be effective around the rim. Hakimura leaving no doubt about that one. Golden State moving the ball around. Here’s Curry banked in off the glass. Curry’s got eight points in the quarter. High percentage look. This is what your offense is designed to do. Los Angeles leading by 22. LeBron outside. Now here’s Smart defense right on him. Aimura the pass to Aton. Another shot. Uses the glass to finish the layup. Yes. And with this one winding down, it’s obvious to everyone who watched it. Just a total mismatch and a true show of strength for Los Angeles. You don’t see this kind of a blowout often, but tonight this is a quality win across the board to deliver out uh this kind of punishment. They definitely never changed the approach. They just kept after it and showed they were clearly the better team in just about every single category. And while there was some nice performances tonight, it definitely ended up being a solid outing for DeAndre Aton. You have to love the way that he was closing out on defensive trips. He would always body up and it’s why he ended with so many boards. [Applause] Clea defending and there’s the whistle. Illegal screen beyond the leaning. You could see his feet more set on that screen. Easy call. So difficult to stay planted, especially with all the motion around you. Annoying turnover. Los Angeles has gone one and three from outside the ark since we’ve reached the fourth quarter. [Applause] Here’s Vincent. He’s guarded by Collins. And the rebound goes to the Warriors. And he could not get that one to go. Lot of conject. And he’ll go to the line for two. [Applause] shooting two. [Applause] That free throw no good. [Applause] He hits the second from the line. Boy, he’d sure like to have that mis bag. Hard to chip away at a lead when you’re leaving freebies at the line. About 7 seconds separating the shot and game clocks. Pass to ABC. Here’s Vincent. Takes the three. Jay with the rebound. And it’s still a rare sight to see rebound numbers like the ones he’s had tonight. It’s incredible. And I’ll tell you what, it’s a joy to watch. There’s more to his game than threes and dunks. Two shots. Foul two. [Applause] [Applause] Take a break. Take a break. Two shots. [Applause] [Music] And that one misses. [Applause] and he sinks the second. So, it’s Los Angeles winning this one easily. They poured it on tonight. Dominant showing in front of a crowd that loved every minute of it. And you know, this game could really be a defining one for what they can do when they are playing at their best. I mean, being here at home no doubt helps and the execution was flawless. It’s time now to go courtside as we send you over to David Aldridge from the sideline. David, take it away. Thank you, Kevin. LeBron, a challenge for you tonight with your matchup. How much motivation do you get in a game like this one? My matchup is not an individual matchup. It’s it’s us as a team trying to get better and uh we was able to hold course. So, it was a good win for us. Well, man, I appreciate the time. Thanks, man. Congrats, Kevin. Back to you, David. Thank you as always. Thank you for joining us. That’ll do it for now. For Steve Smith, Craig Anthony, and David Aldridge, this is Kevin Harland thanking you for tuning in. We’ll see you next time.
