Spoiler 🚨 the fans. Not the owners or players.
The fans who stopped showing up
Im waiting for the sequel on the A’s
I’m already in line to see it, so to speak.
I couldn’t be more excited for documentary right now.
Jeffrey Loria has to be front and center
I still wear an Expos hat and get complimented on it quite a bit. I miss that team.
I don’t want the usual propaganda documentary that we usually get from Netflix. I want them to detail that the original owner missed every stadium deadline and they settled on Olympic Stadium to help Montreal save face on that disaster. Also the Giants almost moving to Toronto in 1976 and then the AL granting Toronto an expansion team basically prevented the NL from moving the Expos to Buffalo or Toronto in 1977.
Jeffrey Loria, Bud Selig, and John Henry. And their shitty schemes led to Frank McCourt getting his hands on the Dodgers
This was incredibly sad in real time, I remember the split seasons in Puerto Rico
The problem with Netflix documentaries is that they generally suck.
Like if you’re watching a documentary, it’s painfully clear when it’s produced by Netflix.
Sounds like this could be an email. Pass.
Canada is full of middle and small markets. MLB is too shortsighted to see that while you might not have massive following in the cities a few more teams could have pulled the entire country to be MLB fans. Ottawa, Edmonton, Calgary etc, all these cities would could have supported a baseball franchise. Ignoring smaller markets so that a large city can have a second team is stupid. Put a baseball team in Buffalo NY and see how rabid the fans would be. MLB is looking for the bottom buck when they should be looking for loyalty. NFL excelled in that, look at the Browns. People keep showing up.
