We can now stop talking about the whatifs and whatn nots. The Chicago boys and Josh Giddy agree to a fourear deal. Y’all know we going to talk about it, break it all down, but you know you got to hear the music first. [Music] What’s going on y’all? Welcome back to Shy Bulls podcast with the Conac Boys. I’m cognac boy Bobby and I’m bringing y’all some good news that we can finally move off of. We could definitely put this whole thing to rest when it comes to Josh Giddy. Josh Giddy and the Chicago Bulls, according to Brett Seagull, have agreed to a 4-year$undred million dollar deal. Auntie, what’s the word? Swaggy, what’s the word? But hey, the Chicago Bulls and Josh Giddy put all of this contract stuff to the side. And shout out to Josh Giddy for getting the Chicago Bulls to come up to that $25 million per year. We knew that early on the Chicago Bulls was trying to give him that soft dub. He was like, “Hell no.” And then just reportedly a couple I think it was like a week or two ago, 22 and a half. And then we had a report come out and say Josh Getty was not satisfied. Just go went ahead and did an episode earlier today on that. And then, hey, a couple hours later, we went out there and got the 25 mil because my whole point was, if you’re giving him 20, he want 30. Let’s meet in the middle. And if he wasn’t going to come up to the middle and 25 mil, I was like, “Hey, Josh Giddy, my boy, go ahead and go out there and see if you can someway somehow get some leverage by saying, “Hey, all right, bet. Give me shorter years with a player option on the back end.” Obviously, we’ve heard that there is no player option involved in this. It’s a straightup deal for the next four years. Josh Giddy is 22. In a couple weeks, he’ll turn 23 and then by the time this contract is over, he can cash in at 27 years old for hopefully a little bit more moon money and we can see what’s to it. So, I’m anxious to see what’s to it and how it’s all going to pan out. Now, Josh Giddy, we got to see cuz once you go out there and get paid, more expectations. Like I’ve been saying all off season, if you want more money, you know it’s going to come more expectations, big dog. You know what I’m saying? But after the Bears went out there and pissed me off last night, at least I get to come out here and chill and talk about the Chicago Bulls, man. It’s definitely a good sign and a good thing to see that these guys are really getting after it. And finally, we can put all this behind us and focus on the upcoming season, bro. We can focus on the upcoming season. Like, I think that’s the most important thing. Now, Josh Giddy, if your guys go out there and have another workout, we need you in the building, big dog. We need you out there working. We love the second half of the season that you put out there, but now I need a good 2025 season as we also heard that the Chicago Bulls are positioning themselves to pay Kobe White in 2026. So, interesting things going on with the Chicago Bulls. We got expectations for Montas Bzelis. We ready to see I do come back. We ready to see if Kobe White can help this team win more basketball games. And this is good to see. I think Josh Giddy, he he earned that money. I’m not mad at the deal. I would say the Bulls, y’all finally did something right, y’all. The Chicago Bulls finally did something right. They didn’t just go out there whether we liked it or not. And they didn’t just go out there and say, “Here go 30 mil.” They said, “No, we going to play the market. We going to do smart business. We going to handle the money right.” And they did everything that they were supposed to do. Can’t be mad at it, bro. Cannot be mad at how the Chicago Bulls handled their business. They did the right thing, bro. Can’t even be mad at it. And uh they won in this negotiation. I’m not even going to lie to you. I think they won. You was able to save some. And then 16 it I think it’s going to come down to more of the impact. Now, we seen Josh Giddy working on his game this off season. The jumper looks smoother. The jumper look faster. He been He looks good attacking the basket. Now, we going keep in mind that that [ __ ] is just basketball runs. We going to call it what it is. It’s not actual NBA action and guys are really not going full throttle. So, we going we going to be definitely having him under the microscope for the next few years, especially at the start of this season because the start of this season, it ain’t easy. It ain’t easy for the Chicago Bulls to start this season. So we gonna see. We gonna see. Man, you already know them Bears was out of order. Auntie know they was out of G. Come on now. But hey, he going to be able to give us what we know he’s going to be able to give us. Now, how good this defense going to be? Vonte say I will say he may approach the season differently knowing he has kind of full control of the offense. Players trust him more, but also scattering reports will change since the great ending of the season. Absolutely. teams are going to focus a little bit more on him, but also teams are still going to see if he’s going to be a legit knockdown three-point shooter. Now, a lot of those three-point shots came with open shots. Can you hit the contested ones, too? Now, is going to be the next step. And how do you impact the game offensively and defensively? I think those are going to be key things for my man’s Josh Giddy. And I ain’t saying Josh Giddy got to go out there and be all world or super elite because I don’t I don’t see that happening. But can you be a competent defender to not hurt your team? That’s going to be the biggest thing for Josh Giddy for me. But he signed and I’m happy. I’m happy to have him because I think that you you had to keep him. I ain’t even going to lie to you. And he’s only 22 getting ready to turn 23 in October. So it’s it’s good for everybody. Not even going to hold you. The Bulls definitely got to pick that defense up. That late start [ __ ] can’t happen this season. I’m not going for the BS. You already know, man. You already know, Auntie. We tired of that. We tired of playing games with these Chicago organizations, bro. We wasting our time watching this stuff at this point. I ain’t even gonna lie to you. Yeah, we get excited. And I want to get excited, but we need wins, too, at the end of the day, bro. We need wins at the end of the day. We just can’t be sitting around being excited in Chicago and our teams just taking us for granted. For real. We got to call them out on their BS when they ain’t doing right. You know what I’m saying? So, a fast start to this season. It’s it’s a necessity. Not even going to lie to you. Because they go up against Detroit, you face the the Knicks a couple times, you face the Cavs a couple times, you got Denver on it in the first few weeks. Like, it ain’t going to be no no cakewalk and you got to take advantage of the opportunity. Even the Hawks are right there and I think the Hawks are going to be solid. I don’t know how good they going to be, but I think they’re going to be solid. So, we going to see what’s to it, man. These guys got to come out ready to fire and go. For real. I need my man’s Kobe White. I need a good season. A whole entire season. Not a good first half. Not a good second half. A whole entire season. That’s not saying he can’t have a bad game here and there, but I need it to be all on wax. I need I need I need the flow shining. Goddamn. I need the flow shining with good play from Kobe White and Josh Giddy got to back him up. Especially if we is considering this to be our back court of the future. We got to see good stuff happening for this team, man. And it’s not to say that these guys got to go out there and be contending for a championship because I think they still got ways to go. But y’all got to make sure that y’all competing at the highest level. Ain’t no more ain’t no more we got to worry about Zack Lavine building up his trade value cuz he gone. We ain’t got to worry about Deamar building up his trade value cuz he gone. Guys got to get in order and let’s go. Famous Vonte says, “Best defensive situation for Giddy with me will be keeping him off ball most times because he has the size to get sneaky blocks, help stack in the paint with size, then can run the fast break with ease.” Yeah, I think Isaac Aoro going to be a big uh part of that too. That’s just me early on. Hopefully Bulls can pick up where they left off and I’m with it. Yep. The more likely going to make some more moves during the regular season. We’ll see. OSHA, but I don’t got too much hope in my front office. That’s the problem. That’s the problem. That’s the problem we run into for the last few seasons. What are y’all going to do? But it’s going to be interesting to see what happens once people start calling, “Hey, what’s up? What what’s to Zack Collins? What’s to Kevin Hurdle? Talking about Angel Reese. Peter, what up though? Giddy is the truth. At 22 years old, his ceiling has a long way to go. We gonna see what happens, bro. We gonna see what happens. I think that the Chicago Bulls can find some early success really if Josh Giddy and Kobe White is if they start off well. But I also think Montas Buell has got to follow. I think he gotta follow, bro. And Vu got to be the fourth option, which I don’t necessarily know if that’s gonna happen right now. That’s just me. Woo! In the building. What up, boy? Nephew, do you think Bulls can win 44 games this season? Absolutely. Absolutely. I don’t think it’s I don’t think it’s farfetched. I don’t. They want Didn’t they win 40 games last season? They can win them. They can win four more. They You know they going to be playing You know, they going to play all these games tough or at least give they all what they say. We want to compete. I think it’s possible, especially with the Eastern Conference being so like we don’t necessarily know. I think the only two the only teams that we know for sure or what they are right now is Orlando, Cleveland, and New York. We don’t know about Boston. We don’t know about Indie. We don’t know about the Sixers cuz the injury stuff. So, I say it’s only three teams of like we know that they going to be competing for the top spot. That’s just how I look at it. You think the Bulls front office trying to change the culture with the guys they did pick up? Which guys? You mean the the through the trade for Zack Lavine O’Shea? Clarify that for me so I can make sure I give you a good answer. Would you accept a trade from Vu for Hayes and a pick? Maybe I don’t know how I feel about Jackson Hayes. I think he could be a live threat, but yeah, I don’t know. I don’t know. I mean, because I I think Jackson Hayes just signed a one-year deal. I take it for a one-year deal if we get in that ass set. [ __ ] it. That don’t mean he got to play. We can get We can We got Zack Collins and Jaylen Smith. I’m I’m want to roll with That’s who I want to roll with. We can get him and then, you know, get utilize the asset. That’s what I say. I definitely think so, too. Think we can pull the six seed? I don’t know, auntie. Um, now I said it’s teams I know that are for sure. There’s three. But there are some teams I think is going to be good, too. I think the Hawks are going to be good. I think the Boston Celtics, depending on how Jaylen Brown, Anthony Simons, and Derek White look, I think they can be have something to say. If the Sixers are healthy, they can have something to say. Possibly. I would say it’s possible, but right now, I’m not too confident unless they show me. They gotta show me, man. Chicago sports teams right now, I’m a unstable Chicago sports fan right now. I’m not even gonna lie to you. I’m keeping everything even kill. Not even going to hold you, gang. I didn’t want to say it in this way, but you know, they got a lot of guys on this team and that’s fine with me because I think that they used to change the culture here post MJ and D Rose. I don’t think that has anything to do with it personally, O’Shea, but I do think that you have to have guys in here that can do a number of things and that got dog in them cuz you can see regardless of where the players from or you know what I’m saying, if you got dogs, you’ll be good to go, bro.
