What did the 2019 Washington Nationals look like? The rotation was led by the leader in innings pitched with Steven Strawber who finished fifth in Sai Young voting behind a 3.32 ERA along with Patrick Corbin who had a 3.25 ERA and Max Scherzer who finished third in Sai Young voting leading the league in fifth at 2.45 and strikeouts per nine at 12.7. Catcher was a two-man show with Curt Suzuki providing the bat with an 800 OPS and Yan Gomes being great defensively. Howie Kendrick was at first, batting .344 with a 572 slug, along with Matt Adams playing as well. Second base was Brian Doer, who ranked eighth among second baseman and on base percentage at 340. Trey Turner held shorts stop with 19 homers and 35 steals with a 298 average. Third had Prime Anthony Rendone, who had over a 10,000 OPS with 34 homers and led the league in doubles and RBI’s and won a silver slugger and finished top three in MVP. Victor Robles had the best year of his career in center in his rookie season finishing sixth in rookie of the year voting while being the best center fielder by defensive value. Adam Eaton was in right having a decent year with two F4 and a 792 OPS. The bullpen was not the best unit, ranking 29th in ERA during the regular season. But some notable guys were Daniel Hudson, who they brought in for the second half, along with Shawn Doolittle, the closer, who had 29 saves.
