Pay this man anything he wants. What ya'll think?

I would love nothing more. One of my favorite players. Sad for MN fans.

  1. He turned down the largest contract in history, this has nothing to do with money. He wants to play for a contender.

  2. On the one hand, he’s the high end talent Seattle needs. On the other hand, why would he sign long term in Seattle? If he’s judged Minnesota in the mushy middle in the central, he’d surely find Seattle in the same spot in the pacific.

  3. I would love this. Did a Chel sim yesterday after adding Kirill and we won the first season. Hopefully that convinces him we are a contender lol.

  4. We have the same birthday (many years apart) – it’s a sign

4 year deal so he’s still in his “prime” when it’s done and can take advantage of an even bigger cap. Who says no?

  5. He’s not going to want to come here. He wants to play for a contender and our long term cap situation is the worst in the league

  6. I know it’s unlikely but I’m dreaming with you. We need another KK and we have plenty of old guys for him to be besties with. C’mon Kaprizov, we’ll give you 2 years easy.

  7. He just turned down 128 million to stay at home and we can’t offer as much term, we might have to offer 17 plus a year to have a chance

  8. He isn’t the right age to fit our young core, and I don’t know why he would come to a team like ours. We don’t even have any Russians on the roster! I would be shocked if we’re in the running but we absolutely should be picking up the phone and making every attempt.

I bet he somehow ends up in Carolina.

  9. Can’t imagine Seattle would be high on his list of teams to play for. Win now but make money on a short term deal seems to be the play. I’d imagine he’s looking short term to let the cap balloon up a bit more but the timing isn’t quite right for that imo. He’s 29 during free agency, if he takes a 3 year deal he’ll be looking to cash in at 32, and that’s not when teams are usually willing to start 7 year deals at the money he’d want.

  10. Never going to happen. This is like Groundhog Day with the Marner thing. The season can’t start soon enough.
