Kyle Hamilton Talks Takeaways From Bills Loss | Baltimore Ravens

a few days to digest, you know, Sunday night. What What’s the takeaway that you need to make sure that that you take away for Sunday, this coming Sunday to make sure that doesn’t happen again? Uh just uh it’s a 60-minute game. We know that. And honestly, last week was last week. Not too worried about it. Don’t forget it, but learn from it. But I mean, we got the Browns this week, so it’s it’s in the past and getting ready to play a different game. Kyle, what has stood out to you about the way the team has responded this week in practice? Yeah, I think it’s um it’s been good to see how guys have shown up to practice and try to fix what was wrong in the game. And uh first game of the year obviously there’s going to be mistakes and we want to get that win and uh but we didn’t and there’s nothing we can do about it now. So I think practice is been very intentional on correcting mistakes that we did in that game and hopefully it doesn’t happen again. Not to harp on it, but did anything did that outcome surprise you especially in the fourth quarter knowing what you thought you had plans in the season? And I know it’s only one game, but were there moments that you even had to take a step back and think maybe you had more work to do? Yeah, I mean, yeah, it definitely surprised me. Um, but I mean, it’s it shows how good this league is. And you can never relax. Doesn’t matter how how uh close or quote unquote far the lead is. And um somebody said a stat today like 11 games were one score games. And that just shows the parity in the league and how every team has guys who can make plays and guys who can change the game. And so that’s uh on us and uh 100% and the Bills did a good job of my bad of uh fighting back, but it’s on us to kind of shut the game out at that point, espec specifically the defense. This week you hear and I don’t know if you heard Jerry Judy saying you want to ask about the Raven secondary. What impresses you about it? It’s like nothing. Um when you hear something like that, does it that do you take note of that or is that like guys say whatever they say? Yeah, I mean guys say whatever they’re gonna say. I really don’t care. Um, that’s the thing with like bullets and board material that I never understood is, um, like was I not going to play hard before he said that? So, it’s like I’m going to play the same way I was going to play. Like, if you need bullets and board material to go play how you need to play, then that’s probably on you. So, um, I mean, I guess he’s trying to get himself ready for the game and, you know, we’re doing the same thing. So, um, you know, we’ll, uh, see on Sunday, but yeah, we’re excited to go out there. Kyle, talking about kind of lessons learned. Is there any takeaways from last year, week two, you know, you come back and kind of drop another one after a tough week one loss. Does that play into your mindset at all of this year? Yeah, I mean, I think naturally a little bit. Um, obviously we don’t have want to have the same conversations week three. So, we got to go out there and make it right from last year and hopefully we’ve matured some since then to um assess the problems, not put our put all our all our eggs in one basket just to start the year. And um you know it’s it’s one game so we we got to bounce back and I think we will. Kyle, what do you think makes the defense quick to turn it around so quickly? Uh we’ve been through it. Um we’ve been through the ring of this defense and there’s been a good amount of continuity on the defense the past few years and coaches, players, and um you know, we’ve been through it and we don’t want to go through it again. So, it’s it’s kind of a snap back into it before it gets out of hand cuz you don’t want to have a conversation like we did last year like a week 11 and0 on the Braves were good on defense, but we want to be like week two and on. So, um it’s now or never for us and um not trying to put too much pressure on us going to the game, but cuz we need to go out there and play free, but we know there’s a job that we need to do and going to get it done. Merlin used the word immature yesterday to describe the way that you guys handled the situation on Sunday. Do you think that’s a fair critique? Uh, no. I don’t think so. Um, I mean, he has his own perspective, but I think it was a little bit of uh more so lack of days goal than immature. I think it was just um just the little stuff like the way we’re taking the field. Um, we might have wanted the offense to drain the clock out with 8 minutes left, but not how the game flowed. We still got an opportunity to go out there and give them the ball back. Um I said it this whole week like they should not score 40 points and be trying to fight for the game at the end of the game. Like in the National Football League your offense puts up 40 points and should be winning the game handily. So um props to them. They did a great job and I think we did for the majority of the game. It’s just we just got to close it out and that’s where I think we were a little lack of day school then. Joe as you first of all kind of marvel at a guy at his age still out there starting and what do you see um as far as the challenges he presents for you on Sunday? Yeah, it’s um I mean growing up, not trying to age him, but uh just watching him like he’s always known for his arm and just uh deep pass and stuff like that. He still got that. Um obviously seen a ton of football, so cerebral I’m sure and um and can still make every single throw on the field. So, it’s up to us to go out there and um do our jobs at the end of the day. And uh but yeah, with Joe, respect to him um being this league still, starting in this league still. And um I’m sure it’ll be cool for him come back to Baltimore.

  1. It’s the 1st of a tough schedule, correct the mistakes and move on, everyone run hills with DHen so yall won’t be so 4 th qtr gassed cuz yall couldn’t stop a thing in the 4th, just my personal opinion. Go Ravens

  2. No we played prevent defense and slowed down on offense, That will always make a team feel like there still have a chance. Lamar said after the Cowboys game last season, we have to keep our foot on the gas. Now we're back to old tricks.

  3. This happens all the time with them.
This cavalier attitude he has is the same attitude that flows through the team. Someone should be punching the wall upset… this is f*kking war this is the nfl. They always get leads into the 3rd get casual relaxed and f*kking give the game away. Defense needs to step up… BOTTOM LINE. Stop horsing around and play football. I’m tired of this sh*t. Make yourselves accountable!!! We are the best team in the league and they don’t act like it then respond like they don’t care.

  4. Smart, tough, driven and capable players. They will sort it out and make corrections. Not a bad idea to get some advice from D-Hen on endurance training though. Defense has to figure out a way to last longer. Better Offensive clock management might help too. 51 Offensive snaps vs 85 Defensive snaps will wear ANY Defense down. We have to balance that out. I know Ravens can do it. Go Ravens!

  5. RAVENS HAVE TWO TELLS ONE IS JOHN IS OPPOSITE OF BILL BELICHICK HE WILL BE THE NICE GUY COACH!!!!! WHEN HE GETS A BIG LEAD HE WILL LET THE OFFENSE EASE OFF AND TEAMS KNOW THIS AND WAIT, 4TH QUARTER TO TAKE LEAD ,NOW YOU GOT OFFENSIVE PLAYERS WHO MUSCLES ARE IN COOL DOWN STRUGGLING TO SCORE !!! SECOND TELL IS IN BIG GAMES IF YOU CAN A LEAD LAMAR WILL GO INTO CHOKE MODE AND TRY TO WIN THE GAME BY HIS SELF AND ENDS UP TRYING TO FORCE PLAYS AND TURNS THE BALL OVER , OR MAKE DUMB BAD PLAY !!! IF WRONG GO BACK AT LOOK THE LOST GAMES SE HOW MANY FIT THESE TELLS

  6. We got too many all pros, and 1st round picks on that defense for them to be that bad. It's mind blowing. You guys should be legendary. Teams should be struggling to get a 1st down but instead, we playing a bend but dont break style of defense trying to keep everything in front. That crazy to me. Ultimately it comes down to mentality and i honestly think there's too many nice guys on the defense. We need some dawgz!!! Some attitude!! Some psychotic MFs!!! That's what we're missing. Everybody has to buy in
